The crew is very hardworking and don't cut corners. They take their time and do a thorough job. Communication could be better but it was not too difficult. I changed my plans several times and added new work but Edgar was very accommodating.

We settled on Jimenez Landscaping to replace our entire concrete pool deck because of the good reviews and their estimate was significantly lower than the other companies we had come out. It took about a month start to finish, due to the fact that there is only one concrete supplier in the Escondido area. However, they did all the demolition and prep work ahead of time, so everything went as scheduled. Their attention to detail was pretty impressive. All four of our patio beams were all rotted out and needed to be replaced. They meticulously took down our outdoor speakers and carefully re-installed them once the posts were replaced. The concrete turned out beautiful. Some plant leaves seem to have gotten into the mix and left some little holes/blemishes on the surface in a few places. However, I know concrete isn't an exact science and that sort of thing can happen. Regardless, its much nicer and was installed better than the old concrete. The old concrete didn't even have rebar. Unfortunately, a few pieces of rebar fell into our pool and made rust stains on the pebble-tech surface. However, Edgar immediately sent out a pool guy with some acid and he cleaned it up perfectly. I have to deduct one star for this: They forgot to re-install the hand-rail for our swimming pool. First they accidentally hauled it off with the junk after doing the final clean-up (which could have been better), but Edgar assured me they still had the hand-rail and it would be installed after the concrete cured. I brought it up again during the final walkthrough and was told that Edgar would personally install it the following week. Months have now gone by and I have sent multiple messages to Edgar. Multiple times I was told it would be installed the following week. I have now given up. I think they lost our hand-rail to be honest, so now we have to buy a new one and install it ourselves. PS: I wish they had cleaned the concrete residue off the bricks around the pool, because I cannot figure out how to clean it off. Would I recommend Jimenez Landscaping? Yes, but I recommend staying on top of them at the end of the project to make sure cleanup is done a little better and nothing gets lost/misplaced.

They broke down concrete and installed pavers. I am beyond happy with the results. Nash is an outstanding guy, he helped us deal with a flooding issue when we were not there. The results speak for itself. I can't wait to have another project or refer Ecograss to a friend. All his team was extremely professional and worked their butts off. Thanks for all the wonderful work.

He came out in a timely manner and scheduled us for install within a week. It was well over 100 degrees on the two days when our turf was installed. The install crew worked hard and got everything done (about 1,000 square feet) in two days. I did see cigarette butts and leftover trash in the yard after they left. The install looked decent at first. When I really got to look at it, there were two visible horizontal seams running the width of the turf. Nash sent the workers back out and they attempted to tidy up the seams, but ultimately told us the turf was shorter so we would see seams. We looked again, and there was about a half inch gap in one of the seams near a corner in the yard. They again came out and cut a new piece and fixed it, kind of. The more I walk around and looked at the job, I've noticed there are significant lumps and the surface is kind of rolling instead of flat. We had guests over and they even commented how our turf wasn't flat like other installs. Around the edges, the compaction was poor and the turf nails come up out of the ground with no retention at all. This causes the edge of the turf to lift up. We emailed Nash a third time but never heard back about this issue. It was a safety hazard with guests coming over so we purchased additional nails and fixed a portion of the issue. The more I researched turf install, I realized I don't believe they installed our turf with seam tape, glue, or any form of adhesive or joining. I've seen short turf and putting greens without any visible seams, so I don't understand why that would be an excuse. Overall, Nash was an upstanding guy who was respectful of our time. His pricing was average, and wasn't on the high or low end of the estimates we received. I don't believe any of the above issues were related to him, but the persons he hired to do the job. I was a bit surprised when we didn't hear anything from him when the job was complete, and he didn't stop by to inspect the work. I'm torn on this review because, like I said, I don't think it was his fault but the people he contracts with for the installs. I feel like we paid a lot of money for a lower end install, which is really disappointing and really still doesn't sit right with me.

I was left explaining to the workers, who speak little English, what is needed - e.g. the missing trench drain at the end of the path needs to be installed. I paid for the pavers used in the project and asked the workers to leave the excess pavers stacked up as I can use them later. The workers took them and said they threw them away. After I complained about it, the workers brought back a half pallet of pavers. In it there were 10 of the pavers I wanted instead of over 300 that came with the 20 pallets I paid for the project. Nonetheless the general contractor wanted the project completed and paid for.
