Wow, I guess I am not surprised to see that other people had terrible experiences with this so-called "Business."
Jennifer is a very nice lady and her staff was courteous when I was there. The selection of glasses was not exactly stellar however that's not what concerns me.
What I take issue with is the absolutely absurd conversation I had with them when I called to discuss in a civil manner the fact that they had overcharged me by over $100 for a set of Marchon Airlock glasses. When I told them I found the same exact pair online at:
http://www.go-optic.com/
the woman (Angel) on the other side of the phone blew up in a belligerent and bizarre manner. When I told her I would write this review so that others could hear about my experience, she accused me of threatening and blackmailing her- since when is giving an honest review a threat? Clearly she is out of touch with how consumers review products/services.
Needless to say I contacted VSP immediately and filed a complaint with them. They were extremely understanding and very helpful in finding an alternative. FYI, VSP is also the owner Marchon (the company that makes the frames I was purchasing), however it operates independently and does not dictate pricing to resellers. When I told them the price I found on go-optic, they (VSP) said that mark-up is twice the wholesale price and that Jennifer Wang's office was charging three times the wholesale price.
When I called back, Angel (the belligerent woman at Ms Wang's office who should be fired by the way) informed me that our conversation was being recorded. I told her that was fine and began to explain that I had contacted the insurance provider to file a complaint. Surprise surprise, she blew up yet again and began putting false words in my mouth so that she wouldn't sound as dimwitted as she actually is when she replays the recording for her superiors. It's hard to hide anger and stupidity in the long term and thus I imagine that as a customer care representative (or whatever she is), hopefully, for the good and longevity of the business, she won't be there long.
Again, let me be clear that Ms. Wang was a professional. She was friendly, quick (not sloppy but expedient), and clearly knowledgeable. The same cannot be said about particular members of her staff and I regret that they are spoiling the business for her. Your best bet is to buy your frames online and perhaps even the lenses. If you want a complete eye exam by a professional, talk to Jennifer but avoid the loud and aggressive staff- they are vexatious to the spirit. read more
