I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes and the surgeries were done here. It's a small building compared to most medical offices but they do 30+ eye surgeries a day there. They know what they're doing and they do it well. In my case I was admitted at 6:30am, led back to a gurney, various eye drops were inserted, IV inserted, last minute consult with doctor and then anesthesiologist then whisked back to operating room. I was partially awake - I could see what was happening and respond to questions but I wasn't really aware. No pain or anxiety. After what seemed like 2 minutes, but really 15?, I was out the door to recovery. I was asleep for a bit and when I woke up they helped me to the car picking me up. I was going home after 8am. Everyone I interacted with was great. They answered my last minute questions and made me feel like successful surgery was important to them. Great service! read more

It's always a bit nerve racking going in for a surgical procedure especially involving your eyes. The surgery center has staff that put you at ease from the initial registration to the procedural preparation. The nurses are the hero's here. They are welcoming kind and soft spoken but also so professional and skilled in getting you ready for the procedure. From a painless IV to a warm blanket the experience is about the best it can be. The nurses engage you in conversation which is calming. The surgical staff are also friendly and engaging. It was over before I knew it. Recovery time was pretty quick and the nurses made sure all was fine and made sure my ride was there when i was ready to go. I just thought they were great! read more

I visited Peninsula Eye Surgery Center to remove the cataract in my right eye. Worst part was was 8am drive down 101. My wife was a trooper driving through the traffic then a bit of construction on El Camino Real. She dropped me off at 9 and left for coffee and shopping. I checked in and paid the surgery center. After a short wait I was relaxing in the chair a little nervous until taking my valium. The rest was a day at the spa. Staff babied me through. "Stay awake, please." Then it was over (2.5 hours?) and I was being walked to my wife's waiting car. Dark glasses. I felt great. read more

On April 28, 2021 I had cataract surgery at this surgery center and it was the best experience at a surgery center I have ever had. From the time I walked in it was so well coordinated. Went to front desk and they had my paperwork ready and I knew in advance what my responsibility as far as payment would be. I literally waited less than 10 mins after I paid to be taken back and prepped for surgery. The staff explained everything they were doing from giving me a warmed blanket to the IV. No bruises on my arm. I would not hesitate to use this facility again and highly recommend them. read more

I recently had cataract and vision correction surgery. My doctor, Dr. Yang, used the Peninsula Eye center. Easy to find on El Camino Real, in Mountainview. Nice facility and great people. The pre-op folks are casual and friendly while still being professional and competent. I was there on two occasions and both times experienced a high level of care. I even received a Get Well post card, signed by the staff, after each visit. If you're getting your eyeballs tweaked, I couldn't think of a better place to have it done. Thanks Folks. First impressions and how you're treated are really important, especially when you're about to have surgery and your nerves are flying. At the front desk America was warm, welcoming, and attentive. And she caught me before I almost popped a throat lozenge into my mouth, which would've postponed my surgery! Dorothy greeted me warmly. Her smile, comforting and nurturing care went a long way to easing my nerves. RN Andrew was a pro and kept me informed about what was normal and expected as he went through the procedures. And his sense of humor put a smile on my face and distracted me from being nervous. Dr. Bryan Lee was the maestro. I felt full confidence in his surgical skill and artistry. Receiving a copy of his book, "Cataracts, A Patient's Guide to Treatment" at his office was very helpful. I was too woozy to see all the providers who were present during my surgery, but they all had a part in the miracle of my new vision. I'm thankful every day. read more

I hate going to any medical establishment not to mention undergoing a medical treatment and anxiety level was very high on day of cataract procedure. Especially when I experienced some difficulties on the first procedure at another location. Every one of at this center was super nice, extremely patience and caring. Quiet efficiency was evidenced everywhere. This place just hums but lots of care and not the " do this and not this" type rudeness that some center mistaken as necessary for efficiency. My blood pressure was understandable high during prep and the nurse calmed me down effectively and I was ready. My procedure was delayed a bit and the surgery nurse and anesthesiologist come by and explained the timing and what they will be doing. Both was fantastic during the procedure. Only improvement? My experience with this surgery center was 100% positive both times that I had cataract surgeries here. They are efficient and prompt with the check in process, and each person who cared for me was willing to to take the time to answer questions and made sure that I was comfortable. I have had two cataract surgeries at the Peninsula Eye Surgery Center. Both times the staff was well-prepared. At my second surgery, the pre-operative nurse was even aware of the medications I was taking on a regular basis-she had obviously read my chart in preparation for my surgery. All the staff was courteous, professional and on top of what was going on. The COVID precautions were observed. Everyone was competent. The first eye's cataract procedure went well. The new Light Adjustable Lens procedures are done on both eyes at the same time. During the procedure on the second, I started to fall asleep. Unfortunately I had a hypnogogic jerk. Not good for such delicate surgery. Did this cause some trauma in that eye? Could it have been avoided? Too much sedation? Doing both eyes at the same time must be a little different for an experienced anesthesiologist who has done the shorter, one eye at a time, procedures for many years. At the followup appointment the expert doctor said both eyes looked beautiful. My vision has been disturbingly worse in this second eye than the first, but I'm still healing. The fact that these new lenses can be fine tuned several weeks from now is reassuring. Will try to post an update. The nurses and everyone were kind and efficient. read more

While the lovely, Francophone nurse who aided my uncle was SPECTACULARLY KIND and patient...while I was waiting for his discharge, an elderly man whose first language sounded like Mandarin came into the Eye Surgery Center office to check in. The receptionist asked for his medical card and when he was unable to present it, continued to press the issue. She asked for Blue Cross medical card, insisting on the card and not explaining to the couple that It was the same as MediCal and stating to them that they would be billed if they did not produce the card. It appeared that she purposely worked to create anxiety for the couple even after she admitted to having his insurance information already on her paperwork. If this was an issue of identifying the correct patient, his ID would have sufficed. As soon as I focused my attention on the situation and she saw I was watching, she stated with "well, we can try to call them..." Surprise! She made no calls, as none needed to be made. Lack of compassion, possible intolerance. I found it disturbing and wish it had been viewed by her supervisor, her spiritual advisor, or her grandma... I understand we all have shitty in-evolved days but Girl needs to meditate on being more patient with all her patients. read more

HEADLINE: Have no fear, having your eyes worked on here!!! OK, as a somewhat aging Yelper, my ophthalmologist had ordered me up some surgery to bring 'old blue eyes' back to snuff in the vision department, and scheduled my surgery over here at this out-patient surgical center in Mountain View. I went in yesterday for the procedure and, let me tell you, it was first class treatment ... all the way from reception through discharge and follow up. My R.N.'s Darleen, Shelby and Victoria were absolutely fantastic with their professionalism, their care, and their bed-side manner. I mean, c'mon, who remembers their nurse's names usually coming out of these out-patient assembly-line surgical factories!!! Shelby, in particular, handled most of my pre-op prep including eye drops, IV, and info gathering. Her IV technique was absolutely fabulous ... I can honestly say it didn't hurt a bit, unlike other episodes I've endured ... and the fact that she was cute as a button probably took my attention away from the stint going into my arm ... ;-)) Warmed up blankets for pre-op and post op, great anesthesiologist in Dr. Flores, great medical procedure with Dr. Chang (that's for another five star review), and very good discharge procedures. I was actually very impressed with the end-to-end care. They even called the house later in the day to make sure I was doing OK and that I was following my medication protocols. All in all, the entire staff was fantastic as was their care ... and most importantly, the outcome of my surgical procedure ... good as new, if not better!!! And I'm able to scope out cuties like Shelby just like the old days!!!. A huge thanks to everyone at Peninsula Eye Surgical Center ... I'd trust my eyes to you guys any day! read more

From beginning to the end it was a first class experience something I would never have imagined possible when I choose to have elective surgery ,cataract surgery, during the pandemic. I am a health care provider at a nursing facility so my senses concerning the pandemic are on high alert and my stress level was also very high. However from the first moment, greeting at the door, I could see that each of the staff was wearing the appropriate PPE, everything was spotless and everyone was highly professional and caring. No one missed a step when performing the protocols for COVID safety and for cataract surgery . The reclining chair was very comfortable and each professional that addressed me did so in a professional and compassionate manner. When it was time to go into the surgery, which was a Disneyland ride of its own, the chair you have been reclining in is propelled into the surgery. Dr. Chang was fantastic and the results were well beyond any of my expectations. Then the staff from the Center sent me a Thank you note. During check in time they asked me to pay $3277. later on that was overpaid, I need to get back the refund $1045.72, but until now I haven't get the refund back yet. This made me very unhappy, we have to pay before the surgery, but how come it is so difficult to get back the refund that is belong to my money. read more

I just recently had surgery for my cataracts last week. Surgery was performed by Dr. Beers. The staff in The facility was excellent. From the second I walked in they made me feel at home and at ease. The receptionist was very welcoming and informative. The check-in was efficient and quick. When I was taken to pre-op room the nurse was very thorough in explaining the whole procedure and preparing me for what would happen. She constantly monitored my vital signs and kept me at ease and lessened my fears. The anesthesiologist was also incredibly kind and answered all of my questions and kept me informed through every step of the way. I believe his name was Dr. Hong. The procedure with Dr. Beers was very fast and thoroughly done. I have zero complaints and I am very satisfied with my experience. I will be back again in a few weeks to do my other eye. read more

I had cataract surgery on both eyes within a one week time frame last week. Both surgeries were done at the Peninsula Eye Surgery Center and Dr. Daniel Beers was my eye surgeon. From the minute we arrived and I met Luisa at check in, it was obvious the staff cares about the patient. All my nurses were very professional and efficient. Dorothy, Martha, Kim...each of you were very comforting and put me at ease. Britt, I think I met you post-op but was too sleepy to remember. Dr. Flory, my anesthesiologist, you were awesome and made sure I was comfortable throughout. Dr. Beers, my surgeon, high fives to you! You did a fantastic job!!! I'm sure I came in contact with others who I didn't mention but it's only because I was enjoying my sedation--almost as good as Rombauer Chardonnay-- and don't remember! My vision is 20/20 and I'm back on the tennis court and golf course and will be riding horses probably tomorrow. The entire process was so smooth and efficient and the facility was perfect.
