But you can request one type in both eyes, if you wish. The problem is that he isn't nice to Women, from reading the online reviews....and talking to two female friends who had Cataract Surgery from him...but both had Lasik surgery a few years beforehand, which made the Cataract Surgery much more complicated and less successful. From the first time I met Dr Liu, I felt like he was a kind and caring doctor, who listened to me and answered all of my questions. I was also impressed by all the technicians there, and ease of scheduling all of my appointments in advance. Over the last 6-1/2 weeks, I had my LAL cataract surgery on both eyes, two adjustments in right eye and one adjustment in left eye, and did my second and final lock in two days ago. Her macular specialist recommended cataract surgery; however, her regular eye doctor refused to perform it, believing she was too old and that the risks were too high. They wasted our time, didn't even offer an apology, and acted like it was no big deal.I've been to other clinics before, and if the authorization doesn't go through, they simply don't book the appointment. That's basic professionalism. Here? They just let you show up and then turn you away. Reading the other one-star reviews, it's clear this is a pattern -- constant complaints about the unprofessional front desk and the same dismissive attitude. Dr. Fung seems to run this small clinic with zero regard for patients. Don't bother booking here unless you want to take the day off work just to be turned away at the counter. They know what they're doing and they do it well. In my case I was admitted at 6:30am, led back to a gurney, various eye drops were inserted, IV inserted, last minute consult with doctor and then anesthesiologist then whisked back to operating room. I was partially awake - I could see what was happening and respond to questions but I wasn't really aware. No pain or anxiety. After what seemed like 2 minutes, but really 15?, I was out the door to recovery. I was asleep for a bit and when I woke up they helped me to the car picking me up. I was going home after 8am. Everyone I interacted with was great. They answered my last minute questions and made me feel like successful surgery was important to them. Great service!

Long discussion about pros and cons of different solutions, what I could expect from the surgery and next steps. I asked why she wanted to do surgery on each eye on different dates. Basic answer - it's rare that something goes wrong but if it does we don't want you to have two eyes possibly damaged. Made a lot of sense to me. I was back in the office a few days later to have my eyes measured with different machines to identify the best lens for my eyes. I was a bit apprehensive about the first surgery but it wasn't scary at all. Second eye done two weeks later. Follow up next day after each surgery and then again 1 week later. The results have been amazing. Everything is so much clearer, brighter and less yellow. So glad I had this done. Dr. Shih's skill and professionalism - along with her support team, were important to that success.

She notified me that they no longer accepted VSP but could provide me with a list of VSP eye doctors I could use to find a new one. I then asked what a regular eye exam would cost; $320. So I am now off to find a new eye doctor. 1) Dr. Grewal's office did not notify me that they no longer accept VSP. 2) They never contacted me when I should have had my annual eye exam. 3) Their record keeping is all hand written and kept in paper files. a) Maybe this is why they can't follow up with regular patients (I have been a customer of hers for over 20 years).

In middle school I finally was able to get contacts, but my contacts would dry out at the end of the day and make my eyes dry. My second most recent eye prescription was -7.50 in one eye and -7.25 in the other. So yeah, my vision has always been bad. I was as blind as Velma from Scooby-Doo whenever she lost her glasses. I got a referral from my father and I went in to get some options if I would be a good candidate for lasik or ICL surgery. The assistant, Georgina, took all of my eye measurements with a bunch of different machines to get the perfect measurements of my eyes. She coordinated everything smoothly and I was so happy to have her be a part of my eye journey. After all the measurements were taken it was determined by the surgeon, Dr. Beers, that I was a better candidate for ICL. Dr. Beers did a spectacular successful ICL procedure on me. I had my post op follow up 8 hours later and I was already seeing 20/20 in one eye and 20/25 in the other. My healing process was pretty quick as I slept for pretty much two days straight and used the prescribed antibiotic eye drops. I was able to return to work two days later being able to see so clearly. I had a couple more follow up appointments and my vision is 20/20 in both eyes. I can see super sharp, no longer have to squint, and I am now able to do fun things like go to concerts, sports games, and do physical exercise without glasses or contacts. ICL is a life altering game changer! I highly recommend Georgina and Dr. Beers to help you with your vision journey whether it's glasses, contacts, lasik, or ICL!
