You might ask, Why do you like Jen's Splendid Ice Cream? Well, here comes the explanation. Founder Jeni Britton has received a James Beard award for her ice cream.. They offer as many samples as you care to try. At this visit, I tried 5 samples. The samples come on a metal spoon not wood or plastic. I appreciate the metal spoon. Second, they have 1/2 scoops. That means more samples to taste. Three, the ingredients are superior. Milk from local producers, no additives, natural fruits and plant based flavors. They have super strong flavors. Download their app for rewards before purchasing. I ordered the Bramble berry, wild berry lavender, coffee mocha and raspberry. Two half scoops for $6.70. Expensive but worth the cost to me. Sometimes you just have to pony up. The staff is friendly and efficient. Street parking and a large lot behind the business is available. Inside and outside seating.
Jeni's ice cream has unique flavors, friendly staff, and uses high quality ingredients. It is more expensive than most other ice cream, but knowing more about the ingredients they use and they seem to use sustainable packaging makes it worth it.
I love treating myself to Jeni's ice cream, especially on such a beautiful day. The customer service is always nice. Just wish that it wasn't so expensive.
It was nice. I've never been to an ice cream shop that had small metal spoons. It made the experience for sampling extremely better. The tiny wooden scoopers ruin the taste and the tiny plastic spoons seem like a waste so this was really cool. I'm not so impressed with the shallowness of the paper cup. 2 half scoops seem pretty small for the price but the quality is great. The waffle cone was a good touch. A pint for $12 was also steep. Workers were friendly. The sit down area was great too. If I'm in town, I'll go back for sure.
Had a great experience at the Celebrate new flavors at Jeni's event at the Clintonville Jeni's this week. The event offered one "Signature" (3 half scoops and a waffle cone wedge) for you and one for your +1. My friend and I arrived on a Thursday evening around 7 pm. The restaurant was pretty busy when we got there and there were only two people working. Shortly after being there for a little, the line was moving quickly and two more people stepped in to help. I tried all the new summer flavors and I'm happy to say my favorite is still the Brown Butter Almond Brittle. This ice cream has Brown butter almond candy crushed into buttercream ice cream. The summer flavors that I tried were the Double Double which is Chocolate chip cookie dough swirled into a buttery brown sugar custard. Tastes like cookie dough with a side of cookie dough. I really liked the Double Double. I did not however like the Sparkling Cherry Pie and the Snow Cone Sorbet was good but too sweet.
Went in to get a pint of ice cream. It was so busy (as expected!). A line looped around the inside, but it moves fairly fast for a place that offers sample tastings. Lol. After tasting ice cream we upped our order to FOUR pints of ice cream. Lol. She asked if we had joined the "club" we had not. A quick scan of the offer to join then club and I find I need to now download an app. Enter all my data in app then activate. This would slow down line. So.... Instead of Jeni's asking for me to just step aside a bit as I do this -she says "you can download it later, just sign up and add ponts with your receipt". Sounds easy. Flips the ipad around. Now its asking for a tip (for take out that has been prepackaged, they didnt scoop it fresh...???? ). Irritated by being rushed and that the screan wants a 18-25% tip added for "take out pints", I leave a dollar for the two bowls of ice cream we did have her actually get. (I hate feeling bullied into tipping for take out) Now the person behind me is rolling their eyes getting impatient. So feeling self conscious I hit the fastest option "no receipt" As soon as I realize my mistake I ask can you reprint my receipt please. She replies nicely "no, I dont know how now that you pushed that button" before she begins to take the next order. So I was out the 60 purch points of four pints and two bowls because I felt rushed.. Bummer! Was disappointed about that, tbo However I LOVED my bowl of ice cream. I first sulked while eating my bowl but soon found the non dairy lemon may be better than any ice cream I have ever had. Put a smile on my face. So, I guess there is that! Tip: download app for rewards "before"you arrive!!!
Jeni's is always a hit. I don't know that I'd drive miles to get some (there is so much good ice cream around), but I really do like it. This location has friendly staff and quick service. There is a decent sized dining area or you can take it for the road. Wild berry Lavender is my go-to, but the rainbown butter cream is awesome, and I had some of the Powdered Jelly Donut recently and also loved that. The rainbow is raspberry, key lime, and passion fruit, which was a really awesome upgrade on orange (not that I don't lover orange!).
Love everything at Jeni's and appreciate being able to try their latest creations every season. Gooey butter cake is my go to. Thanks to the friendly and helpful staff.
Loved the vibrant atmosphere, always packed with diverse flavors to choose, including dairy-free options. My pick milkiest chocolate in a waffle cone. Reminded me of my childhood favorite chocolate palette (malteadas).
If there's ever been a time when the world needs Jeni's, it's during a global pandemic. I'm so glad that, with all the craziness of life right now, we can still go out on a sunny day and grab a waffle cone with that signature salty-sweet taste and enjoy our favorite scoop of delicious, incomparable Jeni's. Jeni's tastes like summer, like normalcy, like treat yo'self! Kiddo and I love doing Jeni's for lunch or dinner once in a while on warm days. My faves have been the same for a while: Brambleberry crisp and Gooey butter cake. But I do miss all the little sample tastes of new flavors. Hopefully the samples can return soon!

A Columbus staple, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams does not disappoint! I opted for a trio with three different flavors: brambleberry crisp, gooey butter cake, and blackout chocolate cake. Each flavor was an absolute delight - rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. The brambleberry crisp had a lovely tartness to it that was perfectly balanced by the sweet, buttery goodness of the ooey gooey butter cake. And the blackout chocolate cake was a chocolate lover's dream - intense, indulgent, and utterly satisfying. Bonus - accessibility to the Olentangy River Trail. We rode our bikes here on a sunny afternoon, which really added to the overall experience. 4 stars only because I wish the portions at Jeni's were a little more generous for the price.
Me and the best friend who will be getting deported (deployed), got our last ice cream. It was black. Everything was black. Even the cones. Then we colored on all the tables and yelled "we've colored on the tables! Don't wipe them. They will smear." read more

After dinner at the Rusty Bucket nearby we stopped for ice cream as it was our last night in Columbus. There was a bit of a line when we arrived but it moved quickly. Salted Peanut Butter with chocolate flakes and Homemade Coffee for me and Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate flakes and Dark Chocolate for my wife was a delightful treat after a meal. And after we were eating our ice cream the line formed outside the door. This is how popular Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream is to folks. It is some of the best ice cream we've ever had. read more
Jeni's doesn't disappoint! This is a great location! Lots of seating and comfortable space, plenty of parking, and friendly staff. The new flavors for the opaque theme are fun and super strong in flavor! Definitely will be back soon read more

First of all, one of the best ice creams in the country. True and tasty ingredients, milk and cream and vegan choices now there is no other I cream brand that I enjoy more for my gourmet palette. Since my family and friends were visiting out of town, I had to insist that they try some of the best ice cream in the Midwest. We ventured to the Clintonville location after dinner and to let them enjoy the perks of Columbus living. They sampled almost everything as the crew was very helpful and kind in their search. They practically bought out the store for so many flavors are simply delicious. 5 stars of course for great service and fun fellowship. Everyone left happy and they will be coming back to scoop up some more Jeni's Ice Cream. So Clintonville, consider yourselves lucky! read more
Walked over to Jeni's after dinner, and they just released the Sunshine flavor. The staff were very friendly. I asked for a couple of different samples to try, and they explained each flavor profile. I ended up getting a waffle cone with Sunshine and Lemon Blueberry parfait. Both were very fruity, citrusy, and refreshing! read more

Wow...the Pistachio Macaron is the best flavor l have had at Jeni's. Since it has Pistachios it must be healthy (right?) The flavor is smooth tasting and paired with the White Chocolate Mint and Green Mint your tummy will say Thank you. Only negative it's limited in scoop shops for the winter. Staff were very Friendly on a chilly Friday evening. read more
Great service and great ice cream like at all other Jeni's locations in Columbus, OH! We stopped in this past weekend and tried the new buttercream birthday cake ice cream! It is SOOO good! It's super creamy, has plenty of sprinkles, and also has chunks of sheet cake inside! My daughter and I both loved it. I had a scoop inside of a waffle cone. While I typically really enjoy the waffle cone, my waffle cone this time was extremely salty. I actually didn't finish the waffle cone (once my ice cream was gone). This is not common for me! Aside from the waffle cone, we really did enjoy the ice cream! We'll continue frequenting Jeni's locations as long as they're around - SO good! read more

I came here with a group of friends to get one of my favorite ice creams, Brambleberry Crisp. I love the smell of the fresh waffle cones and ice cream. I recommend Jeni's if you want to try unique flavors. The prices are more on the high side, but treat yourself! I love their seasonal corn flavor, but I enjoy their frequent flavors. I got the Brambleberry Crisp, Wild Lavender, and Gooeycake. I recommend this place for a casual date, group hang out, kids, and families! There's plenty of parking and a decent amount of tables. read more

We are hitting all our favorites before we move. Jeni's is one of them! They are now doing sampling again after covid. My favorite part of Jeni's is the unique flavors and vibes we get from visiting. It's such a feel good place with the orange decor and knowing the Jeni's backstory! I tried the pumpkin cake, but I opted for my favorite of Brambleberry Crisp and also Butter Cake. The Brambleberry Crisp reminds me of cobbler. My son had Golden Nectar. Each item comes with a complimentary waffle crisp. We will miss it dearly! read more

Jenny splendid ice cream is the best ice cream I think I've ever had. My favorite kind is gooey butter cake. It is the absolute best ice cream ever had and they're freshly made waffle cones address the cherry on top. This ice cream shop blows every other place out of the water. It is a little bit pricey but worth every penny. read more
