My daughter got married at the JEH Ranch, and the location was beautiful and the food was very good. However, dealing with Morgan, the wedding coordinator, was not an easy or enjoyable experience. Morgan never seemed to have time for questions or to meet to discuss the wedding and made us feel like we were bothering her. One time she actually asked my daughter to meet her at an out of the way high school for a 5 minute meeting during a break in her child's sport. We had JEH Ranch do all the flowers and decorations, but they made them more elaborate with more than double the flowers then my daughter wanted. Morgan said she would make the toss bouquet from leftover flowers, but she didn't so my daughter had to give away her bouquet. On the day of the wedding the neighbor yelled comments and insults, including racial slurs, at guests and the wedding party before, during, and after the ceremony making everyone uncomfortable. Right before the ceremony began, the wedding party asked where the boutonnières were and Morgan just shrugged and said she didn't know. They showed up half way through the pictures after the ceremony. I never received a statement of any kind for the wedding. In fact, beside the initial deposit Morgan didn't ask for any money until a late night 3 days before the wedding and even then she still didn't have a final cost. even though it was only an estimate as she still didn't know the final cost. She asked for the balance while the wedding party was getting dressed. We didn't even know what we were paying for or getting but it was to late to do anything. I would recommend JEH for the location and catering, but bring your own coordinator, flowers/florist, and DJ. read more

I don't want to give this place any rating . IT'S THE WORST. My future son in law passed away Christmas morning from Covid and when I called Morgan about a refund was told that was not possible!!! But she promise that there was a goverment grant that we should receive but that didn't happen either read more

We attended our grandson's wedding here this past weekend. The venue was amazing! I've never had better food at a catered affair. The staff was fantastic. I felt they were friendly and kind. The carafes were kept full and delivered in a timely manner. Since I am posting as a guest and was not involved in planning, I can't address that. But based on what we experienced, I'd highly recommend JEH Ranch. read more

I went to a wedding at this venue. There were people swimming in the Kern River behind the bride and groom making noise while they were getting married! It really was distracting. I would not recommend this venue as it is right across from public Heart Park. The noise, swimmers and tubers were very distracting. The old saloon was really hokey. I just had my wedding here and it was the best experience ever!! First off, Morgan is amazing! She made my entire wedding planning so easy and made sure I got everything I wanted. The staff was so helpful and kind!!! They were everywhere you turned and ready to help you with anything you needed. From helping with the babies, to running up to the house and down to bring you any little thing you needed so you didnt leave the party. The food was SO GOOD and the plates were HUGE! Its hard to get food catered from the venue because you dont know if its good or not, but I was very satisfied as well as all my guests! The venue is obviously beautiful and so well taken care of. Picking this venue, I did not have to worry about anything. They made it so easy with being so helpful and providing everything! All I had to provide was my personal things and cake (Which was only because I had that booked before booking the venue.) Thank you JEH ranch for everything!! I was the happiest bride. read more

I've never posted before, but felt it was necessary this time. I got married earlier this year at the JEH Ranch and it was a very stressful experience. The coordinator, Morgan Strong, was rude and pushy at times and consistently uninterested in helping to plan my wedding. She would not return phone calls or texts and if she did happen to answer she would tell me she was busy and would call back. She never did. She canceled a few meetings due to her children's activities and stood me up once when she forgot to call me. I felt pressured to use their preferred vendors including their DJ, florist, and photographer. They were very good, but nothing spectacular, and you could probably find better prices elsewhere. The day of my wedding was beautiful and went off with only minor problems. However, my final bill was higher than I expected after several undisclosed expenses were included. The venue is gorgeous and the food was excellent, but I couldn't even enjoy planning my wedding, or the weeks leading up to it, due to the unprofessionalism of Morgan Strong. Since my wedding, I have heard from a few past and future brides and grooms and they have experienced the same problems. Because of this, I would not recommend the JEH Ranch. If you do decide to book this location, keep detailed records of your conversations and request estimates and final costs in writing. Update: I posted this review on JEH's Facebook and it was deleted, as was a negative review from the bridal party. I have since found out that Morgan, or whoever runs the Facebook page, either deletes or doesn't approve any negative reviews or posts. read more

This is an extremely beautiful venue. Perfect location if you are going for a country/rustic themed wedding or event. My wedding was here in September of last year and I give it 3 stars, (almost gave it 2) due to the coordination and how everything was executed. Morgan the coordinator was cold, bland, and totally needs to be in another field of work. It was like she was not interested at all in what she is doing and does not even attempt to hide it. This is supposed to be the best time in a brides life, and she totally puts a damper on the mood. I felt like I was bugging her when trying to plan my wedding. I had to constantly get in contact with her, after the deposit was made she disappeared for weeks without returning calls and answering questions. Apparently she was on vacation (if I had known, no big deal, I wouldn't have tried getting in contact). None of my bridal party was impressed either after rehearsal dinner. Short, and half assed...everyone thought she was rude. When I was about to walk down the aisle on my big day, she (in the mot rehearsed voice) said you look beautiful, Dad you look great, ok start walking. Bland and totally NOT genuine. This is what put damper on my wedding journey. But of course she was the complete opposite when we were coming to view the venue before we decided to book. I've had friends get married there a few years ago and they said they didn't have any problems with her, but this was back when the venue was only doing one wedding a weekend. Now they do multiple and are booked solid. Sounds to me like she needs a career change. I would give this place 5 stars but the coordination needs to change!! It got 3 because of how beautiful it is. I chose to do this review on yelp instead of their Facebook page because they can control those and only allow positive reviews on their page. Let me start this review by saying how beautiful the venue is as it is right on the river. The unfortunate thing about being on the river is that it's directly across from Hart Park so you might have people swimming, floating or yelling during the ceremony as was the case at the wedding I attended. I understand that the venue has no control over this it's just an fyi. The location really needs to provide more shade since it is an outdoor venue. The wedding and cocktail hour was almost unbearable due to the heat and lack of shade. The Hors d'oeuvres and cocktail tables were kind of confusing as you couldn't really tell which line you were in until you were close to the front. The tables were in a cluster so it wasn't easy to get up to grab and walk. The food was delicious but the man in front of me asked for extra salad and he was told no because there were too many people to feed. There were two carafes on each table one filled with water and one filled with tea for a table of eight. The carafes were empty before dinner was served and weren't refilled until hours later. I went up to the bar and asked for a cup of water and I saw two carafes sitting off to the side with water and tea so I asked if I could take back to my table and I was told no. The guy asked what table I was at and he told me that he would take care of me...he never did. One of the ladies at the table asked one of the staff that was walking by for some water and she was told sure but once again it was never delivered. Finally after dinner was done, the cake was cut, and the dancing had started water and tea was brought to the table. I don't think that the event was appropriately staffed. When it was time for the toast the DJ announced that they were passing out cider and champagne. When the server came to our table, one of the ladies asked for cider and she said I don't have that and walked off. The wedding was absolutely beautiful, the location was great, and the food was yummy but JEH needs to be more organized and have more staff. read more
