During my recent state inspection of my 2021 Toyota Tacoma, I encountered several issues that were…read morenot addressed satisfactorily. The inspection revealed a dime-sized chip on my windshield, which occurred in January 2022. Despite being sealed, the chip was deemed unacceptable. Additionally, the front struts, tires, and rear shocks were also found to be in need of repair. The total cost for these repairs was estimated at $2,657. When I inquired about the necessity of replacing the rear shocks, as I had already done in October due to a squeaking sound, Ricks Auto and Tires informed me that it was recommended to replace both shocks and front struts simultaneously but not necessary. But yet it still failed inspection? However, the squeaking persisted, prompting me to take the vehicle to Smithfield Toyota. There, I was informed that the squeaking was caused by a faulty bushing on my leaf springs. The truck's undercarriage was otherwise in excellent condition. Toyota of Smithfield did not say I needed front struts. Ricks Auto and Tires response was dismissive, stating that Toyota doesn't know what they are looking at. Regarding the windshield, Rick's Auto and Tires indicated he would overlook the chip on the passenger side, as it was sealed. While I agreed with the assessment of the tires and had them replaced at Town Fair Tire, not with Ricks Auto and Tires. I visited the state garage. My vehicle was passed without any issues, and without fixing anything that Ricks Auto and Tires informed me that I was required to make before it would pass inspection. They attempt to deceive customers into fixing issues that were not present. In conclusion, I am deeply concerned about the lack of transparency and accountability in this situation. Ricks Auto and Tires is exploiting people to profit from unnecessary repairs.

Brakes were fine but…read morecompletely ruined my front end to the point I can hardly drive it and have been left to figure it out myself. No issues with truck before but after they worked on it will develop a nasty "death wobble" on highway. They have no clue and have washed their hands of it. I would never being another vehicle here.

We have been meaning to check out Bob's auto for a number of years since we live close by, but for…read moreone reason or another, we're never been able to. But I wish I had started using Bob's Auto sooner! Today I took in my car to have an oil and filter change as well some routine maintenance for an issue that cropped up over the last couple weeks. Jason explained what he thought might be going on when I dropped the car off and told me what the issue really was when I came to pick it up. Very straightforward with no fuss. Prices were very reasonable (e.g. $21.43 for an oil change). No sticker shock when I came to service charges, either. I've been changing my own oil and doing some basic maintenance on my own since I could never make it to most mechanics since they're only open during regular work hours. However, Bob's is open starting around eight, closing around five most weekdays. However, he is also the same hours most Saturdays! No more changing the oil for me! If you're in the area looking for mechanic, I'd totally recommend checking out Bob's!

This is the best garage of all time. I've been going here exclusively for a few years now. Bob was…read morean excellent mechanic. A year or two Jason bought the business from Bob when Bob retired. Jason has been at least as good as Bob was. Those in the know do not bring their cars to dealerships for service unless they are having warranty work done at no cost. Outside of that situation, you want an independent mechanic. Jason knows cars inside and out. He explains what he does and why. He charges fair prices, so much so that I have had to cajole him into accepting some small amount of money on at least two occasions when he did not charge me or my wife a penny for minor repairs. Have you heard of such a thing? It's unbelievable. This is not to say that you should take your car to Jason because he is cheap. No, we know that you get what you pay for. At this shop you will pay a fair price for high quality work. You will feel lucky for having found such an excellent mechanic. I'm not making this up. I feel pretty strongly about this. I want you to understand that this should be the only place you take your car or truck for service. You can thank me later. Thanks for listening.
