First time going to Jeffery Allan's and I am extremely pissed off. I had jersey frames and called in to see how much it would be to get the jersey set up in them. Bought the frames elsewhere first. Was told it would be about $20 each one. I arrived and was told it was $158. Wtf. I was expecting to pay $60 per what I was told on the phone. Very annoyed and won't return. read more

I love their Christmas always been a Christmas fanatic. They have fabulous trees, and the best ones are the Kensington's. They are new and bright and cheerful. Always smells terrific in the candle area with every season. read more

They did an incredible job framing a wide variety of photographs and prints. Much better experience than I had at other framing shops.

Very impressed with the custom framing I have had done at Jeffrey Alans. The staff was helpful and really knew what they were doing. They have a great selection of mattes & frames to choose from and can work within your budget. I have had artwork, newborn pictures, and wedding pictures done here. If framing isn't your thing, they have a great jewelry and scarf section, furniture and home décor, candles, and a fantastic Christmas department. And in the Spring they have a temporary garden stand with flowers, veggie plants and shrubs - roses, hydrangeas, etc. read more

Went to outside plant area. EVERYONE I saw had a mask on. I thought Great! Then I saw they had the store open so I thought, ok...that should be a safe environment. NOT!!! Inside employees only put them on when you go to check out. I observed several people checking out. She put her mask in at last minute-waiting until the older couple got less than 2 ft from her. I went back outside to pay. Went back in to speak with manager. Said clerk, petite, with messy bun got immediately snippy, ROLLED her eyes, and was in disbelief I wanted to speak with manager. Then she spoke over me while I spoke with manager. Don't post a sign if you don't really care. COVID stays around for hours-not just in your 6 ft social distancing. Clerk told me huffily, that she wasn't wearing that mask for 5 hours. Glad to know she isn't my nurse or doctor! Completely rude customer service. I really don't think I'll ever go again. Wide selection of arts and crafts. Fan of their beads and children's crafts like clay, finger paints, shirt paints. Good framing department, fun at holiday time. Helpful general staff, but young and slow check-out folks. read more

Very nice after their remodel! Beautiful decorations inside and flowers outside this time of year but i find you definitely want to buy things when they are on sale. When new items arrive on the floor the prices can be rediculous at first. Also there is almost always someone around if you need help. read more

Decided to check it out since I've never heard of it before... looks like they have alot of xmas decorations. .. however I wont be coming here again... I went in and walked around the whole store and not one person greeted me or asked if I needed help... there was a lady up front when I walked on, another lady setting up a display I walked past, two people in the framing section having a personal conversation and a few other employees wandering around doing what they obviously felt was something more important than providing any custoner service what so ever... read more

First things first, Jeffrey Alans is not a law firm. They are a hobby shop. Think Hobby Lobby or Michaels. Like HL & Michaels, Jeffrey Alans has his sights set on being king of the framing business in Bloomington-Normal but they sell other stuff as well. They have some nice furniture (mostly bookshelves, chairs and lamps), fake foliage, scrapbooking accoutrement, ... surely they must sell more stuff (it's a large store) but I can't think of anything else at the moment. Mostly fake plants, furniture, frames and memory-organizers. They're located on the corner of Towanda and Vernon (across from La Gondola and next to the trail - you could rollerblade there). read more

JA is no longer a hobby shop like Michaels or Hobby Lobby. They have transformed into a home decor store. They offer scented candles, wall art and frames, a boutique, home accents, furniture, floral items, and they have an outstanding professional framing shop. In November, the store transforms into your Christmas headquarters with beautifully decorated Christmas trees which they sell. They sell ornaments,garland, holiday food, etc. In the summer, they have an outdoor "greenhouse" where you can purchase flowers and other plants. Prices are comparable to other stores in town. The place looks terrific and they have a nice selection of items, but it is difficult to get help. I was looking for some kitchen stools and waited for over fifteen minutes while two of the employees chatted with each other ignoring me. I finally said, "Excuse me." and got limited help. Very disappointing. It was so different from the experience at Pier 1 where everyone was extremely helpful. read more

The framing department at Jeffrey Alans in Normal does an excellent job of helping you figure out how to frame your specific picture or item as well as giving you options within your price range. I have had over 25 college football photos framed here over the years. From simple (just cutting a colored matte & framing) to more complicate projects where multiple windows cut, matching specific college colors or larger size frame needed, I have always received a excellent finished project. The turn around time usually turns out shorter than their estimate completion date. I would highly recommend Jeffrey Alans for any of your framing needs. read more

I write to share a recent horrendous experience at JEFFERY ALANS in Normal, Illinois. I am a new resident of Normal with a plan for an extensive garden at my home. I selected two large plants, on sale, that I struggled to get to the sales counter without a cart. I managed to get one on the counter while the clerk took the smaller one, which she dropped! It was then she informed me that their system was down, but offered no alternative way to transact my purchase, which was around $100. Finally, she rummage around the counter in search of a lengthy form for a "manual transaction" and sent me back to my car for additional identification. She seemed quite reluctant to tackle the task and mistakenly put the full price on the form rather than the sale price. When challenged she said only one of the plants was on sale, which contradicted the sign that said "all plants were on sale". At this point I asked to speak to the store manager, Reggie Valentine. He said that he didn't have time to deal with me because he was trying to get their system up, a classic "catch twenty-two. I just wanted to pay for my plants and get out of there. Reggie said that I had upset his clerk and that I wasn't welcome in the store. He snatched my plants and stormed off. I have never had such a frustrating and ludicrous experience doing something that I usually enjoy. I was thoroughly disgusted with way I was treated. I will take my business elsewhere and will share Reggie's shabby treatment of me with as many people as possible, including a scathing review on Yelp. read more
