My trusted go-to. The customer service has always been top notch, and the service is reliable and fast! The shop really gives you that small-town vibe, because they remember you and your car. I go out of my way to come to this location. The prices are always reasonable, and they'll recommend to you what you really need not just try and over-sell you. Highly recommend bringing your vehicle here. read more

Dear Jennifer F. You clearly do not understand the basses of my review. I didn't need the recommendation of JMS of services needed, i simply needed a quote. The fact that your company runs straight to "this is company policy" should be very alarming to the community. This promotes that you'll do whatever you want and then claim "company policy" to hide behind the fact that you're steeling from your customer base with BS charge that is not needed. You can try to deflect however you'd like, but the fact remains that you guys are thieves and steal from your community. I will not recommend this establishment to my worst enemy, as this type of treatment would be over the top. I hope that you have the day you deserve. Best wishes read more

The Twelve Days of Yelpmas Day Eleven *Grinch Mode Activated * Ye of Yelp know all too well life is not all glad tidings, holiday cheer and peace among men. Sometimes some of the people of Whoville can be unscrupulous money grubbing shysters and need to be called out for their Scrooginess. Back in the fall I had recently relocated to Harrison Township and found my high mileage Jeep spewing stinky smoke while barreling down the freeway. I've been going to the same mechanics, the venerable Campus Auto Repair in Detroit's North End at E Grand Boulevard and Brush for nearly twenty years now. Needless to say, I swear by them. But I needed to get my smoke bomb off the road pronto and getting from my mechanics to my new residence was going to be a pain. So I decided I had to roll the dice on something local. Jefferson Motor Service looked to be well reviewed, both on here and on Google reviews. There were exceptions but it's very difficult finding places that are universally praised. I got my Jeep here late in the day and a couple days later was emailed what they found. It was very thorough and had pictures though they could just have a database of photos to pull from. The smoking was from the right and left oil cover gaskets. There was also a long list of other repairs they recommended, mainly suspension issues and transmission lines. The grand total was damn near close to $8000 well beyond what I'd even paid for this 2005 vehicle! And Googling what each repair should cost the JMS price was always well beyond what the upper range was. Over the phone I was told it would be roughly $4500 just to get the vehicle safe enough to drive. Well, I'm not made of money and things didn't seem right to me. I begrudgingly agreed to have them replace the oil cover gaskets only as well as degrease the engine as that day of the gaskets spewing left it a real mess. They already had my vehicle and I wasn't trying to get it towed someplace else. In a couple of days my Jeep was ready. I paid with my card and was able to pick it up after hours by punching a code into a lockbox they left my key fob in. For a few days I took my chances. I knew the Jeep really did have suspension problems. I'd had control arms replaced the previous year by Campus Auto Repair and they'd told me my other control arms would need replacing right in this general time frame. Fortunately before too long I was able to get my SUV to Campus Auto Repair in one piece. (And I in one piece as well!) They agreed the price Jefferson Motor Service charged me seemed very high. When they got back to me with their recommendations they largely dovetailed with what Jefferson Motor Service had said only with price tags that my smartphone didn't tell me were bullshit. They also told me my engine was still mucked up with grease but they'd take care of that at no extra cost. The $4500 that Jefferson Motor Service wanted for urgent, absolutely necessary repairs totaled out to a little over $3000 at my longtime mechanics. I was very embittered by my experience with JMS but my heart grew three sizes that day at CAR. No roast beast for Jefferson Motor Service. It's Campus Auto Repair that understands the true meaning of Christmas. If anyone has any good suggestions for mechanics in the Harrison Township area send me a message on here! read more

Chris handled the estimate over the phone. Got me in sooner than anticipated. Sent a detailed estimate of all work suggested after a Thorough inspection. Work was completed in a timely fashion and came in less than estimated. Yes, I would recommend this business! read more

Took my truck up to this scam for minor repair, they told me my ball joints were bad and my control arm was cracked, they try to scare you so they can do unnecessary repairs and charge you a shit ton of money,so I asked for my old parts and only got 2/3 back, and the control arms looked brand new ,the ball joints looked like they hurried up and took a hammer to them ,so they looked bad ,so if you want to get in your ass with no lube ,go here, didn't even do a alignment with ball joints, lady told me my struts were included in price and never did, they outright lie to you .C read more

I'm 37 and have been taking my cars here since I started driving. My dad does too. They've always been up-front and honest about costs and repairs. If there is a repair that isn't necessary or can wait awhile, they tell me that too. I have nothing but good things to say about this business and I highly recommend them. read more

I was unsure of what was wrong with my car not sure if it was my Transmission or something else, I got my car to my Mom's house and we talk about where to take it too and I said what about Jefferson Motor service they did a good job on Lynn's car so I call and talk to Jason he ask me to have the car towed to them which I did. It was late in the day but Jason called and told me what was wrong and it would be done the next day. He call early afternoon done and running good but he notice some other things and he fixed them the next day. My car runs so smooth and quiet and honestly has not ran this good in years. Thank you Jason I'm so excited my car is running at top notch you have my service from now on. read more

The team at Jefferson motor takes customer care to the next level. Prime example (while I was at work my 16 yr daughters car broke down in the middle of traffic and they drove over and picked her and the car up and let her sit at the shop until I arrived). JM always warrants the work they performed on all my vehicles. read more
