My car was backed into in a parking lot and had scratch and dents on passenger side. USAA uses Jeff Schmitt Cadillac body shop as a preferred repair shop so decided to use them. They contacted me immediately and set up an appt for next day for estimate... thought that was great. They gave me an repair appt on Nov 10 about 2 weeks later...also OK. Brought it in and never heard a thing for weeks and when I called the very nice women at the service dept desk told me how much work it takes to do the job and it was taking a bit.... hmmm. Then on Nov 28 I got an updated cost estimate --- they obviously never touched the car from Nov 10 to 28th. I called again to get an update and got another excuse about how hard this was to fix because the doors had to be removed... it was scratch and dent, no parts.... anyway... finally got the call to pick up car on Fri Dec 12, 5 weeks after drop off. Even taking into account Thanksgiving, this was excessive time to keep the vehicle for just scratch and dent repair. They could have had me bring it in later, closer to when they could fix.... so it was my fault that I did not do a good enough review of their history... Beware if you can"t afford to wait many weeks... they did a good job on the repair I do have to say... And to add insult to injury, since it sat un-driven for 5 weeks in the fringed cold, the day after I got it back the battery died. read more

Every time I deal with Jeff Schmitt, both the service and sales, it is a terrible experience. Between "trying" to rip me off with unnecessary ads-on's... not disclosed until an out the door price is given, up to the many service trips I've taken out there where they charge me to fix a problem, then tell me that that fix didn't work - and then charge me for another possible fix...... thus charging me for every mistake that are making. Most recently they charged $160 for about 1-1/2 minutes worth of work. Literally removing ONE bolt, un-sticking a seatbelt, and putting that same bolt back in. Jeff Schmitt dealerships are absolutely terrible. Unprofessional and poor service. Their salespersons concentrate more on hiding add-ons, than making sure you get what you really need. Basically charged me $140 to tell me my brakes are okay,, but they don't know why the abs light is on. Older 2003 cts, they didn't have the proper diagnostic equipment to do an inspection. So I left with the same problem I had before, brake light, and and traction control light. They said something was not original so they could not get a code. But a good parts replacer( so called mechanic )could have found a way to do a complete diagnostic. read more

On this purchase our salesman, Tim, was honest, fair and forthcoming. Tim knew what I wanted in a vehicle and found the perfect one for me. I could text him day or night with questions and he always replied within a reasonable time. He stayed past his working hours several times so I could test drive, or so he could explain the differences between vehicles and models. The Finance Director, Kelley, was also top notch!! Worst customer service ever! I brought my SRX in for an evaluation due to low oil pressure light coming on. Was told by the salesman that they needed to do the evaluation to determine issues. They determined that the issues were related to timing chain and oil pump. The salesman stated that these parts needed changed and would correct the issues. $3100.00....After the repairs were made, I made it approximately 15 miles before the same stop engine-oil pressure light came on. They towed it back to the shop and later called me stating that I would need to authorize another $800-$1000 to drop the oil pan and check the oil pickup which should have been done prior. They charged me for an oil pump however the service manager admitted they had not changed it and I needed to authorize the additional money to change it out for free. I already paid for that!!!!! They also stated on my final receipt that I denied them dropping the oil pan to check the oil pickup and screens. That was the issue I brought it in for!!!!! These guys were not professional and I would not recommend using them. read more

Don't buy from Jeff Schmitt Cadillac in Ohio I purchased a 2012 CTS-V Wagon with 22K miles on it from Jeff Schmitt Cadillac in Ohio and they told me it included the Certified Pre-Owned warranty. I live out of state (Florida) so after owning it for a while I took it in for some warranty work and my local Cadillac dealer told me it was out of the standard warranty and was not a CPO vehicle. Meaning it was never certified by Jeff Schmitt Cadillac. After going back and forth with them for months including a call with Jay Schmidt who admitted I paid for the warranty but they never turned in the paperwork or the money for the warranty to Cadillac I was beyond frustrated and upset. They kept promising they would take care of it but they didn't. Thankfully my local dealer - Ed Morse Cadillac took care of getting the car under warranty for me. Something they didn't have to do. I will be purchasing a new CTS-V sedan and it won't be from Jeff Scmitt Cadillac. I should have done my homework before buying from Jeff Scmitt Cadillac as this seems to be normal business for this company. They paid over 600k to settle 16 civil lawsuits for ripping off customers at some of their other dealerships. Just Google it. They had my car for 3 days the previous week the day i received it back the engine light on why was that not brought to our attention during the first service appointment Called in to make appointment it took 2 calls to receive a return call the young man stated all we needed to do was drop of the Cadillac and a loaner would be ready however when we arrived a different story no car available an it would be a cost to look at it 125.00 that was not shared at the time of the appointment.. the Service Manager and staff was condescending I had an funeral to get to their only response was we can take you home when the driver returns ???? I had a meltdown in the parking lot alone no one around I walked back into the shop all eyes on me they stated I created confusion sitting at their desk they had no idea what happen nor did they ask ... just assumed we purchased one car from them and one from another Cadillac dealer. Had my car towed in for a diagnosis on Sunday because I bought the car with a warranty from them. They first diagnosed the car with failed spark plugs (cost $522), they then told me it was the crank shaft ($1000 just to find out if that was the issue) They then told me that I needed two catalytic converters and an O2 sensor. ($1700 and they were not sure that was the problem). Luckily they did not disassemble the engine for $1000 before they found the exhaust issue. After 5 days of them nickel and dimming me I decided to have the car towed to another shop on Friday. I was charged the $522 for the spark plug change. The car arrived at the other shop and the mechanic there immediately called me telling me that there was a lot of things that Jeff Schmitt has on the service slip that had not actually been performed. He then went ahead and re diagnosed the problem. The car was up and running before I even got home from work that day. We went and picked the car up and all that needed replaced was one catalytic converter and a coil pack and 1.25 hours of labor totaling $450. The "tune up my car received from Jeff Schmitt was most likely not needed. It was probably the coil pack the whole time. During the whole process I was not treated with respect and the service manager would not give myself or my wife the time of day. When my wife picked up the care the cashier was looking at the slip and said to my wife, "wow this can't be right", This service should not cost this much". She called the service manager and asked him to take a look at it and my wife told me that the woman eyes got real big and she just said "OK, very sorry". So apparently the manager gave her an ear full. Everyone in the service department that I spoke to is untrustworthy and uncaring for their customers. I will NEVER return!!! The only reason I gave one star is because it is not an option to give zero. read more
