Germain sucks I will never return to Germain. They will never get another cent from me or my family. My salesperson was nice and I was happy with the car I drove. Part of our agreement to buy was the dealership sewing a small rip in the drivers seat back together. We were told they would provide a loaner car and a date was set for the repair to take place. The buying process felt easy. That was cool except the finance bro conveniently wrote that the cash we had brought for our down payment was $500 less than what was truly there. Not sure if it was human mistake or someone thinking they'd get a little bonus, but who knows. They also charged us for gap insurance when we put nearly 50% down on our vehicle without speaking to us, explaining the cost and coverage, or giving us the ability to decline coverage. When I later explained these concerns to Germain, I was mansplained to (they blamed it on a potential bank policy but never agreed to look into it) and nothing was done to address my concerns. I explicitly asked the manager to look into this and have never gotten a call back. The day I was supposed to get my seat repaired, the salesperson realized there were no loaner cars and set me up for the following week. The following week, I got my loaner car and my seat was set to be repaired the next day. However, I got a call the next day that the person who does seat repairs was out of town and somehow nobody knew when I dropped my car off so I had to drive back to return my loaner and get my car. I don't live close to the dealer so this was a lovely waste of time and money. They offered to let me keep the loaner- however my car is a 3 row SUV and the loaner was a Honda Ridgeline, so not comparable and not a car that met my needs. The following week, I returned AGAIN to get a loaner and leave my car for the seat repair. They provided me with a loaner that smelled awful and ultimately had a blunt under the front seat, which I found upon returning home. When I returned the loaner, I let them know about my concerns with cleanliness and the weed under the front seat. I was told they don't clean between users and just do a quick look through- so just be aware if you get a loaner to take a look before you leave. My kids rode in that car and I was pretty upset that Germain just explained it away and didn't see that this was potentially a safety concern for my kids and could've been a legal concern for me if I had been pulled over. When I walked over to pick up my car, the dealer had not sewn my seat as previously agreed upon, they literally slapped some leather duct tape on it and called it a day. It looks awful but I decided to let it go- I was ready to leave and be done. A couple months later, my car overheated in Cleveland and I had it towed to Germain since that's who the warranty is through even though I really didn't want to return. It has now been 2 weeks since they've received it and I've received minimal communication regarding the status. They explained they've been very busy, and I did appreciate the warning. However, they provided no timeline at the time and I still don't have one. After calling yesterday to request an update and being told I'd be called back with an update later in the day, I called again today to check in. Again I was told I'd be called back by my rep and never received a call. I called back and spoke to the secretary. She explained that my rep had left for the day. I told her I had been told I would receive a call and asked if I could speak with anyone else to see what's going on. She looked into my situation and told me my rep has not taken any notes, so nobody except my rep is able to provide any information. She literally told me she can't tell if my claim has been submitted to the warranty company, if the car has been worked on, NOTHING. Here I sit with no car, no idea when it'll be fixed, if it's been looked at, nothing. As I've proceeded through this adventure, I will note that everyone has been very nice and kind, which is why I've put up with the experience I've had as long as I have. However, every time I need to address an issue, while they are kind, EVERYONE has pointed the finger to someone else and my concerns have never been followed up on or fully addressed. I have had to CHASE down every concern that has been dealt with. EVERY problem has been because of someone else which has kept me from getting my problems effectively resolved. I have wasted so much time on the phone begging for help getting my concerns dealt with. TLDR: while all of the employees have been kind, there is a general lack of competence, communication, and follow through. You will waste time, effort and money trying to get issues resolved. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. read more

As a customer, it should absolutely be my choice who I finance with, regardless of whether or not you can beat it by 0.1% or not. If you were interested in doing what was best for the customer, you would not refuse to accept their choice in financing so as to force them to finance through your dealership. In short, what I allege is completely accurate, in case anyone is confused by the language in the reply. ---------------------------- Underhanded Business Practice This dealership refused to accept financing from a national bank, under the pretense that anyone buying a car from out of state (Kentucky) must use dealership financing. A deliberate attempt to line their own pockets. This is after we discussed an offer on the car I was interested in, were agreed on the price, and I was willing to put down a $1000 deposit on to secure once delivered. The dealership tried to push me into this because they know my options are slim ("you're not going to be able to find the car anywhere else"). They have the upper hand in this market, certainly, but they are using that deliberately profit at the expense of their customer. The financing I had lined up would be extremely difficult to beat, and there was somehow an expectation that I would discard a good long-term financial decision to favor their financing, even if it meant a higher interest rate. This practice may not be illegal on the books, but as far as I am concerned it is a type of extortion. I know firsthand that businesses that focus on their customers thrive; I can only hope that my experience is not shared by others and that focus is placed back on the customer for situations like my own. read more

I had to fight the other sales guy just to get the keys for a test drive. I have several other people coming up right now to look at it." These sales tactics are so disgusting, tired and frankly insulting. But the clincher is to be told the following: "We are not going to get any more Civics until October so you better get this one if you want one. All other dealerships if they have any Civics are marking them up $2000 over invoice." I have verified that both of these statements are flat out LIES. Purchased new CR-V there in 2020, and was using their service dept for scheduled maintenance (oil changes, fluid levels, etc). After a basic oil change at their place, I drove my car 300 miles to visit relatives, and noticed an odd smell in the cabin. After popping the hood a day later, I discovered they forget to put the oil cap back on. Oil had splashed everyone in the engine compartment and stunk up the car badly. I understand accidents happen, and was happy to continue using their service dept. So, I returned to Germaine and asked them to please change the oil (again) and replace the cabin and car air filters, which they said they did. Cut to four months later and took my car in for another oil change, this time at a different Honda dealer, and they called me in to look at the cabin and engine air filter, which were black and badly needing replacement. Not sure why it says my location is California but I am in Beavercreek Ohio I had purchased a Honda CRV from Germain and they sold me the Premier Collection (another 2500) which would replace tires / windshield / chips on paint etc.. Well I had a chip in the windshield and took it up there and dropped it off (without a car for the day), go to pick up that evening after told it was fixed and it was not fixed as it was still there. Was told it is fixed by a 3rd party who had told them it was fixed (so they never checked). Left it another day (another day without a car) and SAME THING happened and then was told that it was fixed and that is just a filling the crack on the windshield and that is what it is going to look like. Again it was done by third party so not their responsibility, Took it up a 3rd time as crack was getting better (again without a car) and same story and BS delivered. NOW I took it up there as it is no longer a chip but a crack and they say they cannot fix as it is over an inch and will cost 1600.00 The paperwork says " REPAIR OF CHIPS, STARS AND CRACKS IN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD" nowhere does it say anything about an inch. Asked for the 3rd part info of course they did not have and would have to call me the next day with the info (you guessed it no call). I called twice to the office and left messages to speak to the business manager, they said there was 3 of them but none available (either time) and none of the 3 called back. Would appreciate a call and someone address this issue, I brought it in 3 times to get the chip fixed (never fixed) and now a crack and now they do not want to deal with it. Previously I've purchased two cars, and this would have been my third purchase from Germain Honda of Beavercreek. But this experience has made my decision never to buy from them again. When you are dealing with more than one person, the experience goes down the drain. There was confusion about which person was assisting me. I was already working with my bank to get my loan completed. I currently did not have a method of transportation to get the car; that is why I was doing this all online. I was in response to Kayla. She was friendly and helpful. Then I received a message from Amanda because I was not getting information about the exact Honda Care prices. They were trying to sell me at a higher rate than what another dealership would have offered me. When I looked at the invoice, it was called the same as the last car I bought from them at a lower cost. Then I spoke to someone else I do not even recall; maybe it was a manager or someone, but I do not remember. Then today, when I was trying to get things in process with getting things finalized and when I was trying to get a signed invoice, I needed to have one with the Honda Care removed because I thought I might pay for that out of pocket. Later decided it would be best just to put that in the loan. The manager stepped out for lunch and did not hear back. Then I got a message from Izzy. Let me say that this experience is what made me finally decide I would not be purchasing "Germain Honda of Beavercreek."The reason why is when I talked to Izzy, the invoice had a blank VIN with the car marked as used. She should have taken the time to make sure it was correct since it took over 2 hours for me to hear back from anyone at the dealership.' I then felt the customer service provided was not making me feel like a valued customer after already purchasing two cars from them. I asked the question about precisely what I should be doing since I cannot get directly to the bank to check and did not want to sign at the dealership. Izzy then said the options were to either have the check or sign at the dealership. I felt like the dealership was trying to OVERCHARGE me if I sign with them. At my bank, I can get GAP for less than 400, but at the dealership, I would have to pay $600+. I think I asked to speak to her manager, and then she was very sarcastic and rude and then disconnected the call. Then, I called back and talked to the lovely receptionist and then got connected to a manager. He started saying how Izzy was a professional and some other things. If she were a professional, she would have done a better job handling the call and not disconnecting it. I already had a deposit down on the car and tried everything I could to get things ready by their time of Friday at noon. However, the manager mentioned the paper from the loan, which I assume is a letter of intent; however, Izzy never told me about that option. The manager did not seem to care and was like he would only give me 24 hours. I understand they are trying to sell cars, and I was ready to buy one. I then started bringing up other reasons why I feel I do not want to sign at the dealer is because the dealer gets a percent of the money from the bank. Why would I want that because, my bank has been beneficial and responsive, unlike Germain Honda of Beavercreek. I took some time to reflect and thought this is how I get treated after buying two cars from this dealership. I then called back and spoke to the receptionist and got transferred back to Izzy because I decided I will no longer be spending my money at a dealership that does not provide a positive customer experience. I asked for a refund; she said she would do it ASAP and send me a receipt. I also let her know about when she disconnected my call, but she said she did not. I wanted to wait until I had the refund info because I do not trust Izzy or Germain Honda of Beavercreek anymore. I am sorry for Kayla not getting the sale; however, I am not doing business with Germain Honda of Beavercreek, who does not care for customer service. So when making a purchase, look to see how they treat you. If you love your bank, sign directly with your bank and not the dealer because they will OVERCHARGE YOU! If you sign with the dealer, they get an amount of your loan from your bank. If they make it difficult to work with, they are not a good fit. Responsiveness is important. Yes, they may be busy, but they should be providing excellent service. The car dealerships are not caring; it seems; they want their money and would be like, we'll I do not care, I'll get the next customer. I was extremely unhappy with my last oil change. I have been bringing my car to Germain for the past six years. In fact,I have only brought my car there no where else. I got a phone call from the mechanic saying that the screw for the oil pan was stripped and they had to order another pan etc. and it would cost me $1200 and take 4 days. My husband called them back and spoke to the service manager and was finally told that it could be rethreaded an no additional cost. We feel that it was either the mechanics mistake this visit or the previous visit it was put on crooked. If it was stripped when I brought it in it would not have been holding the oil at all. We feel that had we not questioned the service they would have charged us the $1200 when it was absolutely not necessary. Worst. Ever. Made an appointment for an oil change and decided to stay with the vehicle since... well, how long could an oil change take with an appointment? At Jiffy Lube you pop in unannounced and you're done 10 min, fluids topped off and out the door, albeit at a bit of a premium price. After waiting an HOUR, a rep approached me suggesting over $600 of scheduled maintenance and other things my vehicle 'needed,' not including a broken tire pressure sensor they would happily fix for $149. I declined the extra repairs and asked how much longer it would be, as I had other appointments to get to. They held my vehicle ransom for ANOTHER 1.5 HOURS before they released it from Honda mechanic prison. The oil change cost about $5 less than Jiffy Lube. Additionally, I had the necessary scheduled maintenance and 'repairs' done at another shop for less than $200. That shop fixed (reset) the tire pressure indicator for free. Fast forward and I had another repair that was Honda specific, so thought I'd give Germain another shot. Same bad service, same ridiculous policy of holding you hostage while trying to upsell you on unneeded and overpriced 'repairs.' I frequently used Hidy (sold to Germain) for dealer maintenance. I'll drive a few extra miles from now on to avoid this shop's lack of integrity and professionalism. Truly not up to par with what I expect of Honda. read more

Sellers BEWARE! If I could them no stars at all I would have!!!! We have had the worst experience with Heather who is their used car buyer and still shocked. Overall, she was miserable and angry and provided the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Never cracked a smile, was disrespectful to my husband by NEVER addressing him during negotiations and her tone of voice had to be heard to be believed. Maybe the poor thing thought she was being business like, but she needs some serious training in customer service. Maybe if she knew you catch more flies with honey than vinegar that may change her way of conducting business. Maybe she does not just have that capacity. I contacted them and David Allen said "the $500 charge is for restock of your car." We was never told about this and when David Allen was questioned about it he would not get on the phone and was relaying information to a sales associate and David Allen said and I quote "we don't have to disclose this information"! I contacted the General Manager about that issue at hand. He did cut a check for us in the amount that was owed to us, but Attorney General and BBB was contacted. Next day I tried to start and it started. Few weeks later I could not start my car again. Light come one, everything on but car won't start. I called dealer and no reply. My wife and I are in the process of considering getting a new car. We were excited because we've worked hard and are finally in a position to consider buying a new car and not a used car. We worked with a sales specialist named Ken who was great! Very knowledgeable and kind, he was willing to answer all my questions and would be honest if he didn't know the answer but would find it out for me. After testing 2 different cars I was interested in one of the cars. So my next logical step was to ask about pricing to see what would work for our budget. We are early in our buying journey so I just wanted to know what payments would be at list price with interest. I am very confident I know what interest rates I'd qualify for and how much I'd put down. This is where the interaction took a turn, Ken was able to get me some general prices but without some of the factors I wanted figured in the price. He then went to get me the more detailed information I requested but when he came back his sales manager came over and took over the conversation. The sales manager singlehandedly ruined the interaction, he wasn't willing to help figure out what my payments would be or figure it for the interest rate I'd requested. After I realized that he wasn't going to help me I made a comment about the other brands I was considering and what promotions they had he then criticized that car manufacturer and continued to be condescending and rude. I then asked if I could just get a write out of the full list price and I'd just figure out the math at home and he didn't want me to take the price with me. I'd understand if we were negotiating or if there was a sale but I just wanted to look at list price for that car to budget correctly. I was contacted by Sierra at Germain after many attempts at getting a new Honda Insight Touring. Sierra let me know that they were expecting an Insight Touring to arrive in several weeks and wanted to know if I was interested. Heck YA! Sierra was a joy to interact with and maintained great communication. I was very excited when the day came to pick up my car. Until I got a call from some sales manager who informed me that because I wasn't trading in my 2017 Prius Prime Premium that I would need to pay a market adjustment price, several thousand dollars on top of the MSRP of the Insight. I always price out a trade in when I buy a new car, but I've never done it because it's usually well below market value, this time wasn't any different. I have never and will probably never trade in my car at a dealer, I always sell it privately. This has never had any bearing on the overall price of a new car to me, but I guess these are unprecedented times. I ended up cancelling the whole deal mainly because of the attitude and actions of the sales manager who tried to play hardball. I've been in his situation when steel prices started skyrocketing, logistics costs doubled and lead times ballooned during Covid. Genuineness, Patience and Kindness can go a long way. Which is how I was treated at Germain with the exception of one. They ended up contacting me the next day to inform me that they would honor the pricing of the original deal. I completed my purchase and am very happy with the eventual outcome. read more

I'm SO happy I went to Germain when I decided to trade in my old car. I've never bought a car on my own before and Jimmy and the rest of the team there were so nice and helpful to me. Buying a new car is big deal and a big commitment and they didn't make me feel pressured or rushed at all. 2.5 hours and still waiting. This review pertains to service department. I brought Civic for oil change and general safety check one week before a planned trip. Their inspection recommended several additional services, including a new battery, which they replaced. The trip was to start early today and the car doesn't start. Jumping the car also doesn't work so we wait for aaa jump and drove to dealership, calling in advance to let them know I now needed immediate service. After sitting for 2 hours they come and tell me the car needs a new alternator for $650 and it will take an additional 1.5 hours. Really, how long should it take a qualified mechanic to diagnose a bad alternator? Maybe that was the problem in the first place. I bought a vehicle exactly 14 days ago from this dealership and the car has completely broken down. I have owned this vehicle less than two weeks when first the tire started leaking air and needed to be replaced, the key fob battery died and needed to be replaced, and suddenly yesterday the check engine light came on and the car is no longer drivable. When I contacted the dealership I was told that "Unfortunately there is nothing we can do" "it passed our inspections" and "you should have purchased an extended warranty". 14 days ago I paid 17,400 dollars and today have a car that does not run and I am getting ready to make expensive repairs on the engine next week. I understand there are risks to buying used un-certified cars, and maybe the are mandated to be held to a higher standard if you buy a certified honda. However, the baseline morals and ethics of salesmanship do not exist in this company and I would recommend against buying so much as an air freshener from this dealership. read more

Had our 2011 odyssey for 6 years and never had the TPMS light come on. They put on new tires and one of them would not hold air pressure. Took it back to them to check it out. They made my wife sit in the waiting room for 2.5 hours and then charged us 130.00 to replace a tpms sensor that they said was source of the leak. She got back home later and now the TPMS light is on which has never happened before. So basically, we paid 130.00 for them to create a problem. I called and left a message and they never responded.
