If you are reading reviews on Brownies in Beavercreek....read mine! It's worth the read!…read more BUYER BEWARE!! I have checked reviews on this place not only on here but also other resources and I find it extremely odd how the owner tends to accuse a lot of his bad reviews as "fake" reviews from their competitors! Hopefully this review will hold some value to what happened to my husband and me. Please note: I am no stranger to giving a 5 star review, or even less stars if warranted. Please read my experience before wasting time with these jokers. We took my car over to brownies in Beavercreek to get some feedback on what our issue could be. We explained to the guy who did the "intake" what our main concerns were and that word of mouth opinions pointed us to get a check on the transmission. They had the car for about 24hrs and gave us a call. Me and my husband put the guy on speakerphone at the first call to us, and the first red flag was the first sentence out of his mouth "we found you a new transmission for 6200.00 but it's the last one and the dealership only has one left" um okay....where was the diagnosis explanation at in that sentence? Seemed quite pushy once we started to ask questions and the longer the conversation became, the more apparent this guy was acting as a salesman NOT a concerned mechanic. He made us a bit uncomfortable with not being able to answer our questions. We both began asking questions and aside from the pushiness of getting the sale, he didn't offer up a whole lot of "diagnosis" He did however, let us know that we are smarter than most customers bringing our beautiful car in and noticing the "shudder" that we noticed between 60-70mph and that they also noticed it too when they drove it. I asked about 3 different times if there was anymore to the "diagnosis" than them just simply driving the car, but little info was given up to us. He mentioned that a diagnostic test would show no readings for them because of a "shudder" but how strongly he recommends us getting ahead of this for only 6200$ out the door. Mind you, when we dropped the car off....it was said that they try to pass savings off to the customer by "rebuilding" transmissions NOT buying brand new ones from a dealership. Long story short, we got off the phone and told him we would let him know our decision. As soon as we got off the phone I told my husband I don't feel right about this company and let's just pick the car up. Upon our drive to their shop (about an hour) to pick up the car and come back home....this guy calls us TWO more times trying to make this sale. When we picked the car up there was a shop tech in the office area, who seemed out place to be there, and when we asked for the keys he simply nodded and dropped them in my husbands hands. No words spoken, no hi, no see ya later. Keys were in our hands and out the door we went. 20 mins later--guess who calls us? Our Brownies friend JOHN again! The same salesman (or whatever this guy named John was) and he calls us once more to see if we made our decision yet. We explain how the car has been picked up and at home. He stuttered nervously over his words, and said he was sorry he was at another Brownies working that day and not at the Beavercreek office. Say what??????? I thought we had a beautiful car John? I thought you had first hand experience driving our car and recommending we spend 6200.00 on a new transmission????? Lesson learned folks....these people are the type of car shop a lot of ppl warn you about. ONLY OUT FOR YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!! PROCEED WITH CAUTION. Oh and my real diagnosis with my car? I needed 3 spark plugs changed out. A total of 250.00 out the door at a different, HONEST mechanic who laughed at the business model Brownies in Beavercreek operates on. My car has acted brand new ever since. DO YOUR HOMEWORK WITH THESE PPL AND GET A SECOND OPINION EVERY TIME!!!!! This is the type of business that makes me lose faith in humanity. I'm not mad, just disheartened how many innocent wallets they have emptied on lies and fake diagnosis. Guess nothing is really for "free". Glad we were smarter than their pushy sales pitches in all those phone calls!

The pricing for everything has been transparent and fair. Everyone whom I've told about this place has had similarly good experiences. Couldn't recommend them more enthusiastically.

I had a very concerning experience with Dayton Transmission Repair and would not recommend this…read moreshop. I brought my vehicle in for a rear differential issue that was supposed to be covered under a 12-month / 12,000-mile parts and labor warranty. This warranty was confirmed by my warranty company, which originally paid for the repair. Despite this, I was later charged approximately $450 in labor for work that should have been covered. The pricing throughout this process was inconsistent and unclear. I was initially quoted around $450, then later told approximately $1,600 over the phone, and ultimately charged $1,794.40. At one point, I was told that the cost to tear the car apart was "about $350 + tax," yet the final invoice shows $925 in labor, including a $450 "complex labor" charge. These numbers do not add up and were never clearly explained. The shop claimed my axles were "gaulted" or had "welded themselves" to the differential, requiring replacement. However, I was never given a clear or consistent explanation of what actually caused this or why it justified the additional charges. Even my warranty company attempted to get clarification and was unable to receive a clear answer. I was also told that no further work would be done unless I agreed to the charges, which left me in a position where I felt pressured to approve repairs without a full understanding of the total cost. When I asked questions, communication became unprofessional. I was called a "terrible customer," told I was being petty, and had calls ended on me. The owner was rude and dismissive during this process. After retrieving my vehicle, I discovered an issue in the fuse box area that was not present before service and is now causing electrical problems. This has added further concern about the condition in which my vehicle was returned. This experience was marked by inconsistent pricing, unclear labor charges, poor communication, and a lack of transparency. I would strongly advise others to ask for clear, written pricing and full explanations before agreeing to any work.
