We have had every car we have owned since we moved here in 1999 serviced /repaired at Gateway. Bob, Danny, Greg and the rest of the staff there are very knowledgeable and friendly, but more importantly honest. They don't overcharge for services and never recommend unneeded repairs. It is extremely rare for me to write a review but this one,I had to. I was having a problem with my car so I made an appointment with a mechanic that a friend told me about (He was a no show). Then I took my car to another shop (Without an appointment) and pretty much got yelled at. So a friend told me about this place. Not taking any chances, I made an appointment on line. Took my car in and shortly after was told what the problem was and how much it was going to be. Short, sweet and honest. And was even given a ride home!! Was done in a few hours no B.S. and was on my way. With all that's going on in the world today, this was a pleasant surprize. I think these guys actually like what they do! Competent, honest. These are two words that sum up my impression of Gateway Auto. I'm a fleet maintenance supervisor and in all my dealings with Gateway, they have been very detailed, and helpful. They have gone so far as recommending I take a vehicle back to the dealership to have a repair covered under warranty, saving my organization thousands. I brought a car I was interested in purchasing to these guys for an inspection. I was tools to be there at opening and it would take a few hours to have it looked over. I was there right at open, but the employee decided to be 10 mins late. He then proceeded to complain about how they where over booked. Less then an hour later, they called and said not to buy the car because our over heated as soon as they started it up. I found this hard to believe since I had driven it the day before with no issues. I then took the cat to another shop and got the test done, and it checked out fine. Seems to me like they where not organized to get to my test and where looking for a quick out. I will never trust them with one of my vehicles. read more

Gateway is right around the corner from my house to that's a big plus, was looking for a good local mechanic and relied on the yelp reviews for this one. Turns out my car problem was a little too extensive and costly to fix but I appreciate that Gateway gave me an honest opinion about it. They were very friendly and prompt and very apologetic about the extent of the issue I was having with my car even though it wasn't their fault at all. First time in. I took a used car in for an inspection prior to purchase. Staff (both owner and son) were very knowledgable, friendly and accommodating. Gave me a full run down of potential issues with the car as well as a quick gut check on it's value and if to buy. In the time I was there I also saw how they worked with a couple of other customers - all extremely professional. First impressions are important. We had the drivers side window regulator replace on my wife's V W beetle at Gateway and they did a real nice job on it. Everything worked like it should when they were finished it took about 3 hours to do it.Everybody was friendly it seems like a nice and clean independent repair shop that I would recommend to anybody. read more

This place is GREAT. The customer service is very good. The people are very nice. Very well decorated lounge, too, and a very clean restroom. The prices were very reasonable and the times were very quick: $440 to change all tires (including labor and tax) in an hour and a half + 3 hours to order the tires (you can do that from the comfort of your house), $45 for light change in 30 mins, and they didn't charge me for labor to change the windshield wipers. I've been there twice now, and I was very satisfied both times. I plan to go back with any further maintenance in the future. read more

Best auto shop in town. I have taken both of my vehicles to gateway many times and every time I have been 100% satisfied. I would highly recommend as they are very honest and don't try and take advantage of people. Gateway also will get you taken care of in a timely manner no waiting around wondering how long they're going to be. Because they were just around the corner from my house and I could bring it in the same day I took my car in to have it repaired. The wipers wouldn't shut off. I was called and told how much it would be to repair and that they would have it completed by the end of the day. The work was done on time and they called me to say my car was ready. Everyone was friendly and they were a little more reasonable on price and getting the work completed. I will use them again, they are a good neighborhood repair shop. read more

We took my son's 1995 Volvo to Gateway for a problem with the windshield wiper. We'd never used Gateway before but they are in the neighborhood so we wanted to give them a try. We will not go back. When we took them the car, the wiper worked but it wasn't tracking smoothly along the windshield. We were told they would investigate the problem and get back to us with an estimate. When they got back to us the estimate was over $400. That was much more than we were planning to spend. So, my husband said we would pass on the repair and we would pick up the car. When we picked up the car, the wiper that had worked now did not work at all. The bolt holding the wiper is completely stripped. We are unable to either tighten it down or remove it. It is bad enough they took something that worked and returned something completely broken, but what's worse is their unwillingness to admit they broke it. read more
