Please, please, please beware of this company!…read more They store EVERY credit card you use (even over the phone cards, cards used in the store, and one time payments) and will charge random amounts throughout the month. I had 2 cards on file (one that I used for the initial purchase in store and one I was using for monthly payments over the phone) and both cards were charged different amounts throughout the month multiple times. When I spoke with a supervisor I was told there was a system error that occurred that charged my card different amounts. When I asked to remove my card due to system error, I was told they cannot remove cards that have been used for purchases from their files due to auditing purposes and that they have the right to charge them if a payment fails per my contract. My payment didn't fail, it went through, and they proceeded to charge my second card on file for the same amount! When you set up your account they tell you that you will have online access to view your account and billing information, but that is not true. I started renting from Music and Arts in July and still have been unable to access my online account to view my payments and it's December. When I spoke to a supervisor to get a statement to provide to my bank since I was charged fraudulently, I was told that their online system is experiencing issues and it is not currently working. The only way to view your statements is to call and have a representative email them to you. Every time I've called, I've been on hold for at least 30 minutes (sometimes longer). The representatives don't have the ability to remedy billing situations so you have to speak to a supervisor, but there is no way to directly reach a supervisor or be transferred. You have to request a call back and wait for them to call you. The statement I received from Music and Arts doesn't show the extra charges that are on my bank statement. I've seen on other reviews that others have experienced the same issue so I know I am not alone. I am now forced to cancel both cards on file with my banks to ensure they don't constantly get charged in the future. I have also reached out to my son's school to let them know to be leery referring parents to this company in the future and asked for alternative companies I can rent from who are more transparent.

Minda also teaches lessons, so I signed right up. Great experience. She's patient, willing to explain things to my engineering brain, and brilliant. More, when it came time to change a string, Minda gave me a lesson. She even let me change a few strings on a harp she was working on. Telling me how to do it, showing me how to do it, then letting me do it but talking me through each step. Finally, doing it on my own but with her watching. Great way of learning. I was able to go home and confidently change the string myself. Five of five stars. And an extra star because she's just so darn nice about it.

It's only been about 4 month of voice lessons and my daughter is enjoying it. She has learned many techniques to improve her singing and expand her range. Growing up singing in choirs, I learned very well how to sing as part of a group and sound the same…read moreas everyone else. I learned to match pitch and mimic runs. I learned to understand when to sing loudly and when to sing softly. But I never learned which voice was my own. I never learned how to use what I have already because I was so caught up trying to sound like everyone else, I never embraced my own sound. My thinking has prevented me all this time, from growing as a singer. The ability has been there, the desire has absolutely been there, but with a clouded mind, the greatest of any talents becomes average, at best. Both of my parents were leaders in church, singing traditional black gospel music, filled with soul. Lots of runs, lots of modulations and key and tempo changes, lots of drawn out vowels, extended breath holds, stratosphere-level bridge notes... but most of all, they always had emotion. There was passion that lead them when they sang. I remember saying, "I'll never be able to sing like them, so I hold back a lot because I can't do what they did." In our first session, her reply was simple: "You CAN do it. And you will sing even BETTER than they did." Just to have a positive voice to trust more than my own negative thinking, that alone would be worth my time. But she's taken time to help me understand when to use my full voice vs my falsetto, how to project sound in every range, how to shape notes to match my strongest vowel sounds, how to be willing to make a mistake and learn from it. And whereas I used to refrain from allowing anyone to hear me singing, now, it's common for me to sing out freely at work, at church and everyone else, with little concern for who is listening. I still have lots to learn, but I'm grateful to be learning it in a safe place.

I made an order with them for rental of instrument for school along with additional one-time purchase items which were needed. They make it appear convenient because they deliver directly to the school. But what actually happened is that several items were missing, and some wrong items given. It was due to backorder, but the real problem is that they don't communicate! Not only was the order late and with missing/wrong items, but I had to make multiple calls and trips to the store to work it out. They did not call me to inform me ahead of time, nor return my calls after. Although I had been charged for everything, over 1 month later, I still have to follow up to find out when I will get the rest of the items from my order, they are not proactively checking the status of these items. Also I made multiple unreturned calls to the head office to get my credit card info updated with no return call. It is really poorly organized and mismanaged. However, on the upside, when you go into the store, the guys there are able to properly repair and answer questions about the instruments themselves.
