My daughter has been taking piano lessons for over a year and voice lessons for a few months. Her last piano teacher (Kori) was excellent. We were so sad to see her go but Right Start was able to find a new teacher immediately. We were hesitant at first, but Taryn (our new piano teacher) is just as amazing! We inquired about voice lessons in conversation, and we're so happy to learn that Taryn also taught voice! So my daughter sees Taryn once a week for both piano and voice. It's only been about 4 month of voice lessons and my daughter is enjoying it. She has learned many techniques to improve her singing and expand her range. There is a huge difference between her singing before voice lessons to singing now. I would definitely recommend Right Start to anyone who loves music. They make you love it even more! read more

I am what you would call an adult beginner with no musical skills. My friend was putting her 6 year old daughter in piano and I decided I would like to learn as well. We started with Right Start Music 3 months ago. My 7 year old has special needs so it was important for us to find the right fit. I looked up reviews and found Right Start. Dave (the owner) answered all my questions and has always been extremely professional. He found a wonderful instructor for us. Melissa is punctual, easy to work with and so patient with my son. I'm amazed that my son can actually focus with her for the entire session! We started with one hour sessions to split time between 3 of my kids. It didn't work out since the other 2 children are too young. Dave and Melissa gladly made the adjustment to 45 minute sessions just focused on my son. After trying two different piano teachers, we landed at Right Start with Nick. He is such a wonderful teacher! He comes to our house and works with each child for 30 minutes. My two boys are a handful and Nick is patient, yet has great boundaries. The boys really respond to his mix of kindness and no nonsense. He's always able to direct them back to the task at hand. He does work book and also encouraged boys to learn songs they know from the radio (via the chords). It's really fun! The company is responsive and helpful too. All were flaky and did not show up on time or had so many last minute things come up and class cancelations in multiple occasions. Michaela is the only one who not only is punctual but let's me know in advance if she needs to reschedule. My 13 year old daughter has been taking guitar lessons with Tyler for about 2 months. I was a little skeptical to have someone come to my house to teach guitar but after talking to Tyler on the phone, I felt very much at ease that he would be a wonderful music teacher. Tyler is always on-time and very courteous. Most of all, my daughter feels very comfortable with Tyler and is learning at such a quick pace that she is already playing "Yellow" by Coldplay. Although my daughter has never picked up a guitar prior to meeting Tyler, she now loves the instrument and is always looking forward to being challenged. I appreciate Tyler's patience and calm demeanor...and most of all, I love that I can cook dinner and get work done while he is teaching guitar in my home. I've had my six-year-old boy taking lessons with Chili for the past six months or so. We're really happy--Chili's connecting with my son well, and is more than able to keep him focused on the lesson with positive encouragement. For the six months preceding Chili's lessons, we had our son with another private teacher, but that teacher didn't seem to understand the specific needs of a young, male student. She tended to just keep on talking long after he had checked out and was looking around the room. With Chili, my son is on task, but also having a good time. We're pretty happy. read more

Right Start Music is a very nice company to work with. I have not met the president David but from the emails and phone conversations, he has been great. We have a piano instructor for our 6 year old boy. The instructor Joseph if very nice and had a high level of education and knowledge about music in general and is excellent the piano. Our son loves him and we look forward every week when Joseph will be stopping by for the 45-minute class. We recommend Right Start Music. My son did a talent show at his elementary school and it was impressive. I think that by next year our son will be even better at playing the piano.
