Their tacos are extremely delicious, they don't hold back with make sure each taco is full of any kind of meat that you get! Full of flavor and just looking at them reminds you why they're the best. Some other notable things that you should get is the quesadillas and the nachos they have. I'll have to keep coming back to try other things. Great place for sporting events as well as I was here with a group to watch Brazil vs Morocco and stayed to watch the Knicks win right after and become champions!

I really enjoyed my experience in this establishment. Definitely was worth the trek from Uptown…read moreManhattan. This neighborhood gem offers an industrialized minimalist form of decor with pops of color and art. Cozy but roomy, the bar area had mostly 2 seater tables and a few with high chairs. We recently went for a birthday brunch. Restaurant Week was still in effect but we decided to choose from the regular brunch menu. Place was low key and giving neighborhood vibes. The service was 10 STARS! Our waitress was extremely attentive and kind. We were also checked on by a second staff member who I think may have been a manager but cannot be certain. We started with cocktails and they serve chips and salsa gratis. I had the Jalapeno and Hibiscus Margarita and my friend ordered the Pepper Margarita with Strawberry and Chipotle. Mine was a bit on the sweet side without a hint of tequila. My friend's drink definitely was the better of the two. Not overly sweet and definitely a flavor of tequila was present. We also ordered a guacamole. I must say it was quite small and barely served 2 people. I suggest if more than 2 guests are part of the experience, order more than one. For my entree, I requested a market salad and 2 veggie tacos with a side of birria consume. Salad was very fresh and I am sure was made to order as opposed to premade a week prior and waiting in a fridge to be served. My tacos were average but satisfying. The consume was a bit disappointing as it was more of a water/broth based and not of a typical gravy consistency. It was not exciting. My friend's entree was the highlight of the experience. She had the brisket quesadilla. Never have I seen a quesadilla with a crispy outside such as this. A culinary masterpiece indeed. She consumed it all and not one complaint afterward. Delish. We did receive a complimentary Churro plate for the birthday celebration. They were drizzled with caramel and berries. Served warm, they were a dream for the palate. I did use the bathroom which was a single stall. It was clean enough but not well lit. The biggest downfall of my experience was the temperature of the restaurant. I understand it is summer, however, there was no A/C and the inside was extremely hot. I sweated through my entire experience. Even the bathroom felt like 100 degrees. We did not complain but our waitress noticed and brough a fan out to circulate the air. They do have ceiling fans but honestly I did not feel them. The management/owner should consider more temperature control methods during the hotter months as it was quite uncomfortable. To sum it up, I thought this experience was mostly positive and would patronize it again.

The second time, we started off with a Cactus salad which feels like an underrated dish. It was a heaping pile of sauteed cactus and chopped jalapenos over what most would consider a generic salad. But you know what, I enjoyed that touch for the texture . The cactus itself was packed with flavor with nice heat from the jalapenos. For my entree was the chicken fried chicken, a chicken breast cutlet smothered in gravy. This cutlet is what got me to write a review. They basically nailed it with the interior super juicy. It comes with two sides. Aromatic rice and beans and collard greens that accentuated the floral notes of the greens. This may have been a 4 star review but the price to quality ratio and friendly staff is what inspired me to bump it up. Will put this place in my regular rotation.

New York City is not known for having outstanding Mexican food, so I tend to get kinda hesitant to try out new places (especially in, lets be honest, largely white neighborhoods) because I'm rarely impressed. Nuevo Mexico got my attention during the pandemic with their take away margaritas - happy hour and a range of interesting and tasty flavors, what more could I need or want. It took me a bit longer to actually try the food, but boy am I glad I did because I was thrilled to see the quality here is above and beyond most local places AND not insanely overpriced to boot! Nuevo Mexico brings it with the basics that just make ALL the difference: real corn tortillas, fresh chips, perfect guac, hot sauce that's actually hot, really flavorful enchiladas, tender meat, boom. Great. Just straight forward and tasty. I will definitely add this into my rotation of the one other Mexican joint I order from 'round these parts. Excited to explore the menu past tacos and enchiladas too, but ... boy are the tacos and enchiladas solid.

Our Mexican dinner will not be complete without a glass or two of classic margaritas, and it was more enjoyable together with a plateful of fried calamari served with garlic mayo. All the dishes came in a timely fashion, and they were all delicious. My only qualm is that all dishes are overly covered with peppers and onions. Overall, the staff is genuinely helpful, friendly, and attentive. I will come back to this restaurant to try their other menu. There's indoor and outdoor seating available. I started with the tostones and guacamole and empanadas. I've had tostones plenty of times but never with guac and it was pretty good. Thin Tostones paired with fresh guacamole. Then I had the cheeseburger and oxtail empanadas. They fry them fresh and the fillings were tasty but small in size. Sadly they sold out of the elote. For the mains I got the jerk chicken taco, salmon taco, oxtail tacos, jerk chicken burrito, and Mexican burger. My guy tried the salmon taco and I had the jerk chicken. That was a bit spicy. The oxtail tacos were juicy with a crispy tortilla and decent amount of oxtail. I seen a jerk chicken burrito on the menu so I had to check it out. It's packed and that jerk chicken was spicy how I like it. You can even order it as a bowl. The Mexican burger is your classic thick burger but they spice it up with guacamole, pica de gallo, and sauce to give it a Mexican twist. Shout out to Amare and Bairam. They were very helpful.
