I LOVE this gem!! Everything is delicious. Have been going here religiously ever since i found this spot! I do have to say however, what's up with all the new employees? They need to be trained on customer service. They stare HARD when we walk in as if they don't want us there. The esquites are WATERY and they put very little toppings. It used to not be like this but lately the service is really turning me away and making me not want to come back. Please fix bc I love this place and telling everyone about it!

What a great place, inexpensive, friendly and clean. Oh and so yummy! We didn't know what to order they were so helpful with suggestions. We can't wait to go back!

    Mangonada

The service was good overall and the inside was clean. I had gotten a mangonada and it was a bit on the pricer side, being over $10. Overall, I would come here again but get something different.

Stopped by here on a visit to family in Mobile and it was amazing! I'm sure we'll be back and we'll definitely pass the word to the locals!

Great atmosphere really enjoyed hanging out and eating here. Wish i got pictures of all the things we got but everything was so good we ate it too fast.

This one is the key lime pie Paleta and it was delicious. My daughter had the Abuelita chocolate flavored icecream and she added toppings

I've been here several times, staff is super friendly. The place is very clean. They have a lot of variety of Paletas. They make all of their own Paletas, icecream and sorbets there. My kids' favorite are the Oreo paletas and the strawberry paleta that is water based. They also like the cookies and cream icecream in a cup and they like to add toppings. My favorite paleta flavors are the pasión fruit water based and the coconut milk based paleta. Ive also had the key lime pie flavor paleta and it was delicious! I don't think you can go wrong with any of the other flavors.

I had been wanting to check this place out for a while and finally went! Now I've been coming at least once a week! The staff is super sweet, and food is SO GOOD! There's sooooo many different flavors of popsicles to choose from. It takes me a minute to decide what I want, but ever single one I've had so far is DELICIOUS!

Off CottageHill near University Blvd. Easy in and out! Jefe (I am assuming pronounced "Hefay") Paletas is a fun deluxe popsicle shop and mexican street snack spot! Check out their FB page before you come because the menu is a bit confusing for us... ahem... non-latinos. We had a large group so lots to report here. Choose btwn cream or water based popsicles. Our group had peaches and cream and biscoff (cookie). Both fresh and delicious. Super cold and refreshing. Not too sweet. I think the idea behind a paletas is fresh with no added sugar- perfect naturally! Fresas (strawberry) and cream cup was a large portion and also fresh. Mexican corn cup was warm, creamy, crunchy and spicy- not for the novice. BUT the MANGONADA was THE treat to get here! Not cheap...$7-10 but large portion of fresh mango chunks and mango puree with a tangy, spicy drizzle sauce and a straw wrapped in a freshly made "Fruit Roll Up" encrusted with a tangy, spicy seasoning (Tajin Clasico). To the onlooker it could be mistaken for jerky but it is most definitely not. This is a must have- it will blow your taste buds away! They also have regular ice cream and cones to cover the non-adventurous types. The only drawback- the dining area needs some flair. Chairs are a bit rickety and only one trash can, hard to tell which door to enter in also. Non-coordinated utensil containers etc...You can see the assembly kitchen which has its pros and cons. This will not stop us from returning, however, by any means! I actually have the pineapple coconut cream popsicle on my list for next time....and another Mangonada.

The food is excellent. I usually order the fruit cup. They make the cup exactly as I order. The service is very good.

The Mac and cheese is some of the best Mac and cheese I've ever had. The rice and beans are delicious along with the plantains. The Cole slaw is also the best Cole slaw in the area. We love having this place walking distance to us. It's a perfect lunch or dinner spot.

This visit, the moment I walked to the counter I was greeted with a smile, and I remember her from my first visit. I ordered the 1/2 chicken because it was only $3 more than a 1/4 chicken with 2 sides. You get both white and dark meat and I order fried Yucca and black beans & rice. The chicken has so much flavor from the charcoal. The Yucca was perfectly fried fresh, and the black beans and rice were satisfying. It is a little pricey about $27 with fountain drink and a 15% tip (in my opinion they should not ask with their point of sale system when it is not a full service restaurant). This is the reason why they got a 3 star instead of 4 stars. This reminds me of Peruvian style rotisserie chicken that I use to eat when I lived in Washington DC area. Here, they are branded as Latin American Charcoal Chicken. This not a full service restaurant. You order at the counter and pick up at the order at the other end. They have a small but adequate dining room. I wonder how they are during a lunch and dinner rush. I will soon see.

I wanted to try their fajitas because I haven't had fajitas in such a long time. I wanted something sweet as well and I found the sopapilla on the menu. I ordered online and prepared to go pick it up. When I got to the restaurant I was greeted by an employee. I did not see it but he had my order with him. I opened my mouth to say I ordered online my food was in my hand. When I got home, I was ready to dig in. I didn't realize it came with chips and salsa and also rice, beans, and salad. I looked around for the sopapilla but I didn't find it. I guess I should've checked the bag before I left. Anyway, I tried their fajitas because chips and salsa and they were alright not the best I've had. Then I tried the beans, rice, and salad. I have to say that this was probably the best combo of rice, beans, and salad I've had from a Mexican restaurant. It was just so flavorful. Now the fajitas were ok. I got the chicken fajitas and I realize fajitas are probably best had in the restaurant. The fajitas were very warm so they didn't lose much heat on the drive home. I will give it a 3/5. The food was not spectacular and also I didn't get the sopapilla. I do want to come back though.

Small locally owned restaurant! Service was great. I've only had their chips, tacos, and pupusas,…read moreso I can't speak to anything else. But I highly highly recommend getting the pupusas. Even if as a side dish. Their tacos aren't anything to write home about. But their pupusas are amazing
