It's a new bar/restaurant but I've eaten there 3 times now and all the people I've recommended it to have loved it also. The food is fantastic -- fresh, clean, and well-made. My favorites are the fried green tomatoes and the steak and cheese sandwich (OMG is that good! It's shaved ribeye with melted Swiss and sauteed mushrooms). Their salads are pretty good too. They have a different soup of the day, but we got it each time and it was awesome! Definitely try the soup. And they have a great selection of beers. The service is fast and friendly (I felt like I was in a local diner instead of a bar). The decor is nice with some big screen TVs if you're looking for a game. Overall a great experience! read more

Had the beyond burger which is a veggie burger that tasted just like real meats.

Use to be my favorite. Love the food, however. NO MASKS that are required by state. I will not take my life in my hands, not to have my food safe for our family. If it is required by law at establishments, ALL should have masks on or eat at outside tables at LEAST 6 feet apart. read more

The only reason I can't give me than 3 stars is because of our incredibly rude server. Wow. Hands down the best food in Hampstead. On Sundays they have the best Eggs Benedict in the area. Only She crab soup in town worth your time.Fantastic staff. Stopped in tonight while on vacation with my family. Other reviews said it was kid friendly, and had good looking food so we decided to give it a shot. I'd never recommend to anyone else. First, yes you can bring your kids in.... but it definitely feels like a bar so I wouldn't call it "kid friendly." We were seated pretty quickly and ordered drinks while we browsed the menu. Drinks were brought out and one of our kids drinks was wrong, no big deal, it happens. We ordered an appetizer and our meals... and then we waited..... and waited...... and waited..... over 45 minutes for our appetizer. We got the crab dip and it was pretty tasty, so I was excited for my seafood platter. We waited another 45 minutes for our food. This place is small... like, 12 tables small.... so for it to take that long to get out food was absurd. Our kids were tired and hungry and started complaining. Finally our meals come out, holy greaseball. Yes, I ordered my food fried, but this was disgusting greasy. My husband and I ate half of our meals and decided to cal it quits. I'm sure we'll both be paying for it later. So, if you like greasy food and waiting forever to get it.... this is your place.... otherwise, steer clear!! read more

This friendly neighborhood restaurant is a great place to enjoy the game and chow down on great food. Jebby's is small but cozy and just right for watching any game on one of the 9 High Def TV's. Yes, this business is outside of Wilmington but it's the perfect location if you live in Hampstead and don't want to venture all the way into town. This local secrete spot is best known for the quality of locally sourced meat, seafood and produce. All the food is made fresh to order. They even grind their own meat to make the perfect hamburger. My husband and I normally love it here and I honestly still like it the food is awesome and normally service is great but tonight it was not that great and to top it off I disliked the martini they served me which did not taste nothing like the French martini I had before. I told the waitress and return the whole martini and asked if I can get another one and she told me I would have to pay for both. I had to skip out on the second martini never drank the first one. Just moved here and trying out all the local resturaunts. We came at lunch time and ordered the crab dip, crab soup, the steak and cheese with onion rings and the turkey club with Mac and cheese. I would say all was amazing except for the Mac and cheese.....it wasn't horrible, but it basically just tasted like Velveeta shells and cheese. My favorite place to eat in the area (right up there with Daddy Mac's without the view). It's a bar/pub atmosphere but has separate seating, if you don't want the bar end. Kids are welcome and entirely appropriate in this place. The food is fresh, and almost entirely local. Menu is GREAT!!! I recommend the fried green beans. They are KILLER! This place is awesome! I'm really upset with myself that I've driven by this place literally hundreds of times ad never stopped by until 3 days ago. The wife and I were driving around searching for a new place to eat in Wilmington, when that didn't work out we headed to Hampstead. Very good decision. We went to Jebby's in the middle of the day on a Friday so the crowd of a big game weekend wasn't a factor. Our waitress was great and very friendly, so the service was excellent. The food was even better than the service. We got the fried green tomatoes as a starter, holy $#!+ is the only phrase that comes to mind when I'm trying to describe how good they were. I'm originally from an area where you run into a lot of very good fried green tomatoes so I know what I'm talking about when critiquing them. These were so much better then any I've ever had before, so I will now have to tell my dear aunt that she has no idea what she's doing, and that she really needs fix these things properly. Next, our entrees. The wife had a fried shrimp po-boy. This was risky for me because I've come to find out that po-boys typically aren't done well in this neck of the woods. Thankfully though, Jebby's po-boy completely renewed our faith in the po-boy as a whole. It was fantastic. I has the BBQ bacon cheddar burger, it was equally fantastic. The burger was fresh, the cheese was plentiful, and the sauce was great. Throw all of that in with the fact that it was on Texas toast and you got a very happy guy. Did I mention that both of our plates also had fresh cut fries piled high on them? Nothing but good stuff. We're actually planning on a weekly trip to Jebby's now. Let me start off by saying that the food is great. However, this restaurant is receiving only 1 star due to the very rude service, being charged for drinks I did not purchase, and my charges being altered by Chris, the owner's son. First, I was charged for 2 extra beers at the bar. Chris refused to take the charges off of my bill for the drinks I was charged (this escalated into an argument in which Chris was extremely rude and argumentative). Then, when it was time to pay for my bill, I did not include a tip on the receipt I signed (a tip was left by a friend I was there with). When the charge appeared on my banking account, it was for more than I have signed for (Chris added a tip where I had left none). I called and they claimed that they will take care of the charges, which I have yet to see, and it was, yet again, Chris with whom i spoke. He spent a good five minutes on the phone trying to decide if he was working that day and making excuses as to what happened. He then failed to ask for my name, the receipt number, or any other information! I had to ask HIM if HE needed the information!!!!!! Very unprofessional. As a careful consumer, I track my charges carefully and I keep track of what I consume at a bar or restaurant in order to ensure that I do not spend (or get charged!!) more than I intend. I suggest that if you go there, and Chris is your server, to do the same. We were quite impressed with this local restaurant. The food is typical diner/pub American faire. It's a small dining area with a bar. The staff is busy but friendly. All the waitstaff was working hard attending to their customers. We had the calamari for an appetizer. I probably wouldn't recommend due to the crispy batter falling off as we ate. Never like it when that happens. For dinner we had a 6 ounce hamburger with fried greens beans, chicken tenders (homemade), and pork chop sandwich with fries all were amazing. This place rocks! Seriously, its the go-to place in the space between Jacksonville, NC and Wilmington, NC. Normally, I stick to their specials of the day which you can read on their Facebook page. Specifically, I had THE BEST low-country grilled cheese sandwich the first time I tried the place out during the summer of 2012. Basically it consisted of fried green tomatoes, heaps of bacon, two types of melted cheese in-between two pieces of texas bread, and toasted...I can't wait until that comes back! I also enjoy their 50 cent Chicken Wings, and fish tacos. This place is where to be if you are looking for a NFL (or any sports game on vacation) or if you feel like being social. There are 8 or 9 large screen TVs to ensure your sports team enjoyment. They normally have beer specials that constantly change...just look at their multitude of beer tabs lined on the far wall on the left. Don't let the small amount of parking in the front scare you off...thats usually filled up. Just go into the back lot and find a spot. I don't think you will be disappointed that you stopped by for a little appetizer, a cold beer, and friendly patrons/staff. read more

Pretty standard bar. Good service, but the place was a little loud. The restaurant itself is small, so if you come at a busy time, be ready to wait. The food is good; I had a salad, which was fine, but nothing to write home about. I only saw six beers on tap, but the huge collection of handles on the wall indicates they probably rotate with the seasons. If you just want a drink, Jebbys is a good bet. I can't speak for much of the food, since I didn't have it, but lots of other guests were chowing down, so I guess it's pretty good. read more
