This place is really a sports bar, and only about 50 places to sit, so if you go here for the food, you should avoid game days, especially weekends around 1pm. We showed up at noon on Saturday, and had a great experience. Our waitress recommended the best stuff on the menu, so if in doubt, just ask. We had a burger, Reuben (wife named it the best in Wilmington), hand cut fries, and squash risotto. read more

Doesn't matter what we order, we always lick the plate clean. Usually we have the angle hair pasta special and the cheese steak sandwich. With 4.5 stars we were hoping this would be a good place to eat. Not! The buffalo chicken wraps were terrible. 4 of us ordered it and we all hated it. It taste like they boiled the chicken, threw it in the wrap and drizzled with some buffalo sauce. Philly cheesesteak was nasty as well. These are simple things that are hard to mess up! Food is good, service is good, atmosphere is fun and nice. Place was bright...at least during thr afternoon when we were there. I understand the other reviews I read about the noise. This place doesn't have high ceilings or anything that should make it unreasonably loud, it's just some loud locals having a good time at the bar. As always their food is amazing. Always a great selection of beers and specials. The seafood is always fresh and the crab soup is to die for. One area they could improve on is their initial greeting of customers entering the restaurant. Unreal. Definitely a bar/pub with a handful of tables, and you could get thrown that this is just going to be bar food, but how wrong that would be. The wife and I both had the crab soup, delicious and generous with the crab meat. Beer selection was limited, but good picks. My oyster po boy was as good as I've ever had with the perfect bun, crusty but soft, fresh ripe tomato, great slaw and just perfectly cooked oysters. My son's and wife's meals were every bit as good. When coming into the restaurant we ask for the high top table in the corner as we have a large family. The server says go ahead, does not get menus or greet us with any respect. Instead rolls his eyes. When he finally comes to the table, I believe his name is "Chris" and he is the owner, we ask for the remote to put on the basketball game (noted it's Duke playing and we are at a NC sports bar) he says he doesn't have time. When he comes back, I say "we understand you don't have the time, may we please get the remote when you get a second" he says "no you can watch the other TV (across the bar, with 2 people's heads in the opposite direction)." and was the most disrespectful server I have ever encountered and was a server myself for 4 years. As one of the few establishments in Hampstead this was an insane experience. It's a shame to have someone running a place with such low-class and hatred for his job. read more

Just picked up lunch for 4 today and it was a real treat. Thank you, Ashley and the Jebby's gang for brightening our day with hot, delicious food. We'll be in for a sit-down meal as soon as the dining area opens. In the meantime, know that Hampstead is grateful that you are offering take out. Jebby's is a pretty decent place. The floors are all tile and the space is smallish, so if there are more than a few groups of people, you essentially have to speak loudly or yell softly to have a conversation. The food is very good, but a tish on the expensive side for what you get (it's a $9.00 cheeseburger) given the very low key Hampstead environment. All in all, it's A-ok. There certainly are better places to eat, but you have to drive 30 minutes to the heart of Wilmington... probably the best bar/diner in the Hampstead area. read more

I had the fried green beans and the spicy shrimp and grits. Both were amazing - the green beans were crispy and made with fresh green beans and had a great dipping sauce - highly recommend. Got off work and wanted to catch the last 30 minutes of a game, I called to make sure they had NBCSports the girl said "yes" and then I asked if my game was on she again said "yes". I arrive 10 mins later, sit at the bar, and am greeted by the bartender he asked "what can I do you" Me- "what TV do you mind changing" Bartender-"there's only one game on" Me- "I'm not talking about basketball, my game is on NBCSports Bartender- "we are only playing basketball" This wouldn't have been such a big deal if I hadn't called ahead to make sure they could put it on or if every TV was being watched, but there were about 15 TVs and only half being used. read more

Servers are friendly, portions are huge, prices are reasonable, and the food is just plain delicious. We've tried several items (on both the regular menu and daily specials) and have not been disappointed. The food is fresh and prepared with care - I bet there isn't a single can in their kitchen. I will stop here every single time I pass through this town! Sat at the bar and had fantastic food and friendly service. Server/bartender/owner talked to us for a long time. Crab soup is outstanding -- you will want the bowl not the cup. Burgers are huge and delicious. Onion rings are handmade, don't skip them. My mom had the fried green tomatoes and she ate them all. Only 9 tables and a long bar so it fills up quick, but definitely worth the wait! We came in at end of tourist season at 2pm so no wait at all. Even the mild wings are a little too spicy for kids. My son is 12 and they were a little too spicy for him. But my 14 year old ate the hot wings up! $60 for a family of five. This is our new regular stop on the way to and from the beach! read more

The fried chicken and mashed potatoes with bacon and cream sauce nearly brought tears to thine eyes lol! As did the homemade peach cobbler ala mode. The drinks were good as well though perhaps not the most potent ever. If you ever find yourself in this neck of the woods you have to stop in and check them out!
