A quick breakfast stop before the convention! Among other things. Theres a computer at the front to self order as well as a cashier for normal ordering. The computer was out of printer paper so I wasnt sure if my order was received. We waited a bit and after confirming with the staff he promptly made my iced coffee and gave me some cookies for the trouble. I got two breakfast burritos with sausage. It didn't take too long considering how many people rushed in with us. Before 10 minutes passed every person had been served and left and we enjoyed our quick fix at one of the tables. The prices are very good for the area. Highly recommend! read more

When it comes to a quick lunch in the city it's always going to be Jean's or Bill's for me. Right on Walnut and Broad, Jean's offers a fast casual lunch at a reasonable price. With a large variety of salads, sandwiches and standard quick bites there's sometning for everyone here. The staff that runs it is welcoming and food comes out quick! You can call in, order pickup on DoorDash, use the kiosk or order at the counter. Whatever way you order, the food comes out made to order, fresh a delicious. It's a fairly large space with a few tables to dine in at. Jean's remains a staple for me when I need a quick lunch! read more

This place was bad and just nasty all together. The service was bad that waiting was all over the place. they messed up my food 3 times the first time it was hair in my food second time it was no cheese on my cheese burger then they made me a new one to go and when I got home to eat it, it was burnt the manger didn't care and barley mad changed and they messed up my bill 3 times and had to redo it read more

Slow and not tasty. Interior is ... meh. It took almost half an hour to get our order. Turned out they were cooking pancakes for a group of 4 that came after us. We ordered 2 sandwiches and a wrap, almost $10 each. Got 3 sandwiches, all mismatched. The cheapest white bread from Walmart. Not worth your visit. read more

Great for breakfast and lunch. I had the pastrami club one day and a breakfast sandwich using a Kaiser roll the next. Both days I had a good experience. Food was fresh and came out quickly. They are a little busy in the morning but the wait wasn't bad at all. There is limited seating but I did have a seat each day. I recommend this place if your looking for a city deli feel. It reminded me of Websters or Tony boys in West Philly. The staff is pleasant as well. read more

I actually can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. this place is a GEM. Best spot for affordable delicious filling food. I have been coming here for over ten years and can go months without coming in and they still know my go to order. Nice friendly little neighborhood sandwich shop. I had a delicious tuna hoagie here. Special orders are no problem, they try really hard to please. Conveniently located to several hotels. Love that they do breakfast all day! $7.55 for a breakfast burrito with egg, cheese, bacon, and hash browns. PROS: fairly straightforward, this was a-ok. The hash browns were crispy, the American cheese was melty, and the ratio of everything was balanced. CONS: I feel like it was tiny for the price from a mom and pop shop. The name of Jeans Café is a misnomer. This is not a café but more of a deli/convenient store. That doesn't make it bad, it's just not a place you are going to sip on your latte while eating your kale salad. This is a place where you order sammiches of fried foods with fries and coke or buy a 20 ounce Mountain Dew and a pack of Skittles. We came hear one morning because of the great reviews to get a couple breakfast sandwiches and a coffee. I ordered an egg, cheese and sausage sammich on a bagel. They have about 4 or 5 different bagels to choose from and they cooked my sandwich to order. The sandwich came out piping hot and was really good. The price was very reasonable and the people working were really friendly. The place itself isn't much to look at, just a typical deli/convenient store. This place is incredible! I've only had the Philly steak and burgers and want to try more, but they're both so good I just want to order them when I go. The meat and vegetables are so fresh and well seasoned, and the portion sizes are really good for the price. Definitely want to go in the morning to try their breakfast one day! Jean's Cafe is my consistent breakfast spot after a night shift at the hospital and I go here about 3x a week. The food is cheap relative to the neighborhood and a hearty breakfast of eggs, grits, sausage, and toast can be had for around $7. The menu consists of American food. The interior is beautifully decorated in cute, bright colors and decorations as well. The staff are super friendly, hard working, and fast. This place is popular with students, construction workers, and locals. There's strong Wi-Fi. Oh, and the trash cans are by the ATM to the left of the entrance. read more

One immediate change an outsider of big city living notices are the locations of food, groceries and other businesses. Jean's Cafe accidentally showed up on our radar when looking for our hotel amid all the high rises. It seemed innocuous enough and we ventured in for a quick sandwich late in the afternoon. I loved the interior. It's felt like a Deli Store set from a 70's - 80's Police Sit-Com. Long and high cabinets with glass to see all the fixin's. Chalk Board with specials listed. Laminated wood topped tables on the side. Clean. Loved it. You just have to have pastrami when you enter a joint like this. I did. It seemed right. It was yummy. Believe what they say about the turkey bacon, egg and cheese sandwich! I got provolone cheese and eggs scrambled on a Kaiser roll and it was a heavenly lunch. The melted cheese was stringy and delicious! My mouth is watering at the thought of how soft the roll was. The portion size is perfect for lunch--not too big/heavy. Probably wouldn't be enough for a decent-sized dinner. The drink selection is huge and they sell Asian snacks that can usually be found only in Asian grocery stores. I went in during lunch time and even though there were a lot of people picking up food for their breaks, the service was fast and the food was prepared efficiently. In the mood for a mom/pop kind of cafe for $5? Then this is the place to go! Yes, you are not going to get a beautiful plate, or something unique or mindblowing, but you are going to get a whole lot of food for a small amount of money. Plus, the service is friendly, and you always see a lot of regulars, which shows you this place is worthwhile for the natives. I appreciated being offered to add fries on my burger order, as Village Whiskey didn't have it automatically added on the RW menu. The only drawback was she forgot to ask how I wanted my burger cooked, but it came out medium rare which is the way I eat it regardless. I trust that's how they default, which is a good sign. The Food Breakdown: Deviled Eggs (4/5) - Classic, solid, and a good starter. I honestly selected it since the other appetizer options didn't really appeal to me, but nothing spectacular or negative about it. Four comes with each order. All-American Burger (5/5) - Fantastic. I'm not a pickle enjoyer, but the acidity just blended into each juicy bite. The jam had a slight kick, and you can taste the fattiness within the double Wagyu smash patties. High-quality all around and a solid portion size. Duck Fat Fries (4/5) - They were well-seasoned, and each order comes with a small side of ketchup. Granted I didn't ask, but I almost wish they offered a spicy mayo instead because it would complement the crunchiness better. Overall, the food quality and taste were superb. My only caveat was the price, knowing that $35 after tax and gratuity for lunch (without an additional drink) is costly. I didn't even realize it right away, but somehow the team tracked me down at my hotel (!!). I was able to come back a couple hours later and everything was exactly as I left it. A huge thank you to Zktlko (I hope I'm spelling that right) who went out of his way to make sure I got it back. That level of care is rare and meant so much in a stressful moment.
