I guess I'll be the first dissenting reviewer (LOL) and say that I had a perfectly good meal! For an appetizer I ordered the Chicken Spicy Quesadillas listed as With a Poblano Salsa and Jalapeño Jack Cheese $9.95 on the menu. The chicken was tender and tasty and generously provided through throughout! The cheese was proportional and (I believe) was a jack cheddar. The peppers and onions were well sauteed and seasoned. The poblano salsa was quite good too. Definitely flavorful, and a 9/10 for me and my husband who shared it. The iced tea was actually strong and not like a watery mess, so points there! For the entree I went with the Grilled BBQ Glazed Chicken Sandwich, listed as Served on a Brioche Roll with Grilled Onions for $12.95. The only problem I had with the sandwich was that the lettuce, which was optional, and actual red leaf (not iceburg garbage), made it too slippery to eat without difficulty. I fixed my error and took it off after 3 or 4 bites and everything was fine from there ^_~ The actual chicken was tender and a full breast, not slices or a weird patty. Also, I was impressed that the tomato slices were actually flavorful. That probably means they weren't local, seeing as it's not the right season now, but yay for tasty tomatoes! The fries were pretty good too. I'd give it 8.5/10. For dessert (all listed as $6.95 on the menu) I chose the Cheesecake with Raspberry Coulis. I've had cheesecake that was amazing and cheesecake that was godawful. This cheesecake fell more on the amazing end of the scale and I'd give it an 8/10 because I've been spoiled elsewhere. I think the raspberry coulis was not really necessary, per se, but it did provide a nice contrast to the richness of the dessert. I'm glad it was not strawberry, way too overdone! So, price-wise, we are on the "captive audience" scale here, since it is the restaurant serving the hotel and convention center. For the size of the appetizer, I'd say it was a fair price. The sandwich price was a bit higher than I would normally be happy with by a couple of bucks, but the dessert price was on par with other restaurants. For two of us sharing most of the meal I'd say it was a pretty good deal. I saw some items not available for lunch, like the Hanger Steak, that I wouldn't mind coming back to try out. The waitress was attentive without being a constant annoyance, so drinks were refilled quickly, and courses flowed timely from the kitchen as well. JD's Tavern is the hotel bar/restaurant at the Radisson Hotel/Center of New Hampshire. The casual atmosphere is that of a western saloon with hardwood floors, framed pictures, decorations, seating at the bar, table seating, and booth seating. The menu offers typical American pub fare of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, main entrees (steaks, chicken, seafood, pasta), and desserts. After work, my boss and I stopped here for dinner. We started out with some Labatt Blue bottles ($3.50 each) and Diet Cokes ($1.75 each). For dinner, I had the Jambalaya ($15.95) served with a garden salad (lettuce, mixed greens, cherry tomato, olives, croutons, cucumber, & dressing). The Jambalaya was a smaller than average portion with a scoop of white rice surrounded by 5 jumbo shrimp, chicken, Andoulle sausage, peppers, onions, okra, & tomatoes. This was not a traditional jambalaya, but a good healthy dish, very light, not very spicy, and not greasy. My boss had a bowl of French Onion Soup ($4.50), topped with melted cheese, which had a weird flavor and the Traditional Reuben ($7.95) served on marble rye with chips and pickle was good. We skipped dessert (ice cream & cakes) and settled up on the check. The service here was okay and basic. Staying in hotel and it was raining. Stopped in for dinner and some wine. Hostess reminded me of my stern fourth grade teacher who never smiled - actually she looked pissed. That should have warned me off but I proceeded to the bar anyway. It was very busy at the bar due to the rain and many guests at the hotel. I expected a wait. I was being very patient. But, it took over 20 minutes to get a glass of wine and when I asked for a menu, I got one of the best eye rolls I've ever seen. Strike number one. I finished my glass of wine while I perused the menu. Then, I sat, and sat, and sat. I never said a word, but the waitress caught my eye - she barks, "I'll be with you in a MINUTE!!" I said, "Why are you yelling at me?" and she just walks away. Strike two. Well, that "minute" that she promised turned into 10. This particular individual was overwhelmed with the demand and was just taking it out on her customers. I realized she was barking at everyone and none of the customers looked happy. Strike three. I threw on a raincoat, walked two blocks to The Thirsty Moose and had great beer, service and amazing food. JD's is convenient to the Radisson, and that is their ONLY redeeming quality. I've never had a meal that, from start to finish, felt so phoned in. The salad was an uninspiring plop of field greens with some disjointed vegetables and very little appeal. I went from that into a salmon with steamed broccoli and rice, and the rice felt old an brittle. The broccoli was overcooked (as if it had been steaming for days), and the salmon was bland and uninspired. My wife and I had occasion to spend an evening at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester, NH and checked out JD's Tavern for some late afternoon drinks. The servers were attentive and pleasant, drinks were amply sized and nicely prepared. Perhaps a bit pricey for New Hampshire, but it was a hotel bar, and part of that is paying a bit more for convenience. While we were there we elected to have some food, which was surprisingly good. I went to JDs while my sister and I were attending a bridal event at the Radisson Hotel in Manchesyuck. It was the hotel's restaurant/bar, but it wasn't very tasty. The server was nice enough and they were accommodating for 9 people. Fairly quick as well. The menus were pretty looking, but the prices seemed a bit high for the value and the taste. I ordered a soup and 1/2 sandwich combo. The soup was generic minestrone. Probably was progresso. The sandwich was dry bread and not great turkey either. It came with just lettuce after I asked for no tomato. The sandwich combo was $8 something. It came with cape cod style chips, which was sadly the best part. I wouldn't ever pick to come here. Had several meals here on a recent trip. For a sports bar, it as very quiet, almost too quiet to watch the World Series! Food was a mixed bag. The nachos were simply awful, but the spread plate appetizer was quite tasty, though the spread volume far outweighed the amount of sourdough bread it was served with. The roast beef panini was good and the homemade chips were both excellent and low sodium, which was much appreciated! The crab cake and clam chowder were quite average. This is a hotel bar and nothing more. My DH and I went to a function at the hotel and decided to grab a bite afterwards, at 2 pm on a Sunday. We were the only customers in the entire place. Our waitress was nice but I think she was half asleep. She looked like she never made it to bed the night before. The food was pretty un eventful. Mushroom dish had virtually no spice -$17.99 for two crown and cokes. That is nearly double what I pay at my corner dive bar. I'm expecting a little higher price at a hotel with fancier liquor. This place is gouging hotel guests paying with company cards in my opinion. This takes the rating from 2 stars to 1. Unless there is some kind of mega tax in NH, I think I'm getting taken advantage of. Bottom line: -This place had to really work at getting the 1 star from me. I under stand a limited menu at night but to come back from a concert across the street at 11pm to find they are only serving drinks until 1am was disappointing. Totally fine if you are in the radisson and don't want to venture out (although there are so many great places on Elm and you should). The bartender was great, super friendly and fun to chat with. The food was decent too, we had the wings and the cheese board and both were delicious. The drinks were good too, but really my only complaint is the price, especially for drinks. They are charging $12 for a cocktail and they just aren't worth it. I'm happy to pay top dollar for a craft cocktail but that's not what these were. I think they need to adjust their prices and then I would think about going back again. We came here before an event in town for dinner. My wife and I were eating and the waitress approached us stating that my wife was shutoff. She hadn't had even finished her second beer. The manager refused to come over when we asked to speak with her to ask why she was shutoff. She has the short hair and puts silverware in the table. The service was slow he food was ok at best. The nachos chili was skimp on portion but tasted pretty good. I got the steak tips they came out over cooked. I asked for med rare and it came out medium well to well done. It was tough to cut. For a long time now my friends and I have been coming here once a year for a convention at the hotel. In the past, the food and service at JD's has been great. This year we ordered food to bring to the room and found, to our surprise, that it was disgusting. My turkey panini was filled with meat that is literally indistinguishable from cheap prepackaged deli meat from a supermarket- you know, the kind with expiration dates 6 months in the future? Hands down the worst service I've ever received. We were seated promptly, so off to a good start, unfortunately that was the high point. I was there with my husband my toddler, my mother and brother. As an international student I am constantly on my computer searching for free WiFi cafes and hotspots to work on my laptop. From living in big metropolitan cities all my life it's usually a given if you go to hotels to their bars or cafes and buy something to eat or drink you can get free WiFi. This is my go to option when I can't find a low key or more professional environment to work on my laptop in. .. Point is it would be a great place to get a drink and work on stuff if their WiFi router was actually in reach of JDs Tavern. JD's left a bad taste in my mouth. After a five hour drive we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated because they let there hostess go home because it was slow. After being seated it got worse it took 20 minutes to get our drinks because the bar was backed up. The food didn't take to long but was not very good. Last minute decision to come here. Stood waiting at the front for a while and there was no one to be found. Finally someone sat us, and I'll say the waitress was extremely sweet and courteous. We started with the Buffalo Mac and cheese bits and the loaded potato skins which I'll say may have been the best part of the meal. I probably had too much of these. For dinner I had the chicken, and the chicken was very tender with a nice sauce. However, the sweet potatoes and broccoli had a bizarre taste and I could hardly eat the veggies. We ordered drinks and 45 minutes later they still were not ready (draft beer & a mixed drink) The manager came by once and said the were busy but she would get them soon and the waitress shrugged her shoulders. It seems to me that almost all of these bad reviews are about the wait time? Which I've never encountered to be bad. All I can say is that they have amazing food especially the sandwiches, burgers, and appetizers. I'm not sure why some previous people leaving bad reviews ignored the quality of the food. Most likely because they were already angry and didn't want to admit anything good about the place. I visit Manchester once a year and this is my go to place when I don't feel like going out. Its location is also very convenient since it is inside the manchester downtown hotel and even has room service menus in the rooms. I dined at this establishment three times during the 2014 edition of "Another Anime Convention", an annual convention held at the Radisson Hotel. I went to the restaurant on Saturday night and twice on Sunday. In addition to standard American food (e.g. burgers, pizza, and salads), the Tavern also offered specially-themed food items because of the convention. The traditional, saloon-esque aesthetic of the bar was juxtaposed with the flashy, vibrant costumes of the attendees. Despite being very busy all weekend, orders came out in a timely manner (no longer than 20 minutes) and were well prepared. On Saturday evening, I ordered the "Mountain of Potatoes," one of the themed dishes. The dish cost $8.95, if memory serves me right, and consisted of a large plate with cut potatoes piling on top of it. Typical loaded potato ingredients were drizzled over the potatoes and the dish was a tad dry and somewhat bland, but it was still edible and enjoyable. I have to say the dish was a 6/10 for me. On Sunday for brunch, I ordered their pizza margarita ($11.95). Contrary to what others have said about the pizza of this restaurant, I found the pizza to be pleasant. The crust was light and crisp and the mozzarella acted as a nice complement to it. The pizza was nothing special, but I would personally give it a solid 7/10. From the bar I ordered a Brandy Alexander, a Tom Collins, a Grasshopper, and a "Pumpkin Olaf" (another of their themed menu items). Needless to say, the drinks were overall great to drink, though I felt the Pumpkin Olaf was lacking in any flavor. I believe the prices of the drinks I had were priced between $7.50 and around $9.00, which are fair for a hotel bar. There was some delay with the wait staff and bartenders tending to the guests; however, that could be explained by the influx of patrons the restaurant had during the event. The bartenders were consistently personable. The restaurant's manager was especially nice to talk with; we even exchanged some words about the convention itself. However, there was one incident on Sunday that left a blemish on my experience over there. After carefully examining my ID (which, I will admit, is a driving learner's permit), one of the wait staff remarked that the card made me look like a "fourteen year-old boy." The comment most likely stemmed from a misunderstanding between the staff member and a friend I was dining with. I also suppose I do look like I'm 14, but she said it in an angry, condescending tone. Although the meal continued without any further altercations, that brief moment really stuck with me for the rest of the day. If you find yourself near at the Radisson Hotel of Downtown Manchester and are in need of a drink, I heartily recommend visiting JD's Tavern. (Via room service) My nachos were not worth the $10 price. It didn't even really look appealing. The melted cheese looked so gross to me like my nachos had been left out on a plate all day and then reheated right before they brought it to me. There could have at least been more cheese instead of only right on the few chips that were right on top. Also if you order this its best to ask for extra of the guac, sour cream and salsa as they only give you a little.. not enough for that portion of nachos. My penne with Alfredo and grilled chicken was not much better. The Alfredo was extremely bland, I practically had to overdose on salt just to get some kind of taste from it. Went there on a sat afternoon with the family to eat before seeing a concert at SNHU. Planned to eat and drink a few beers with my son and daughter. (they are over 21) was asked by waitress who was driving when I ordered my first beer, and had to wait 30 min for the second beer. my wife and daughter shared a mudslide, that we all think was missing the alcohol. When I asked the waitress about that, she would not look at me she just said that's how they make them there. We ordered 5 meals 2 were good 3 were over cooked. Don't pay extra for sweet potato fries the (4) we were given on each plate were not worth it. Side note. spoke with the manager Mike or Mark was told I was treated wrong and he would call me back, that was a week ago. He must have lost my number. Also his response to my complaint about the mudslide was " We make our drinks light on purpose, we think of ourselves as a family restaurant". sounds like admitted fraud there. and no break in price. read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant! We were there for almost four hours. The waitress was inattentive. She barely ever came by to ask about refills or how the food was. It took almost an hour and getting the manager to finally get the check. He was very unprofessional and lied to us. He said he was taking two drinks and fifty percent off the bill.
