I've had the opportunity to work with Chris on finding my fit and a pair of shoes for work. His insight into color combinations and seasonal palates give you a vision of how the shoe will look in your wardrobe. I ended up ordering the Park Avenue! Now they did not have the color I wanted in my size, so I did have to wait for 2 days until I had them. But Chris gave me email updates on tracking info and when the pair finally arrived. I was stoked to finally wear my pair! Now Allen Edmonds are NOT CHEAP. It goes without saying that some men consider these shoes a "luxury" and can't fathom spending more than $100 on shoes. That's perfectly fine. Places like DSW or Famous Footwear will take care of you. But don't act surprised when you have to replace that same shoe within 6 months to a year. You have to see these shoes as an investment, you take care of them, they'll take care of you. For those that want new Allen Edmonds but can not afford the sticker price, I recommend you wait for the Independence (in July) or Rediscover America (in October) sales. If you can't wait, try coming into the store and asking about purchasing factory seconds. Now most of these shoes have minor cosmetic flaws, like a dent in sole stitching or a small blemish. Most times the seconds don't even have visible defects. You can't see these shoes online, so you do gamble a bit on what, if any, blemish the shoe has. But for the price, it's a gamble that myself and others have won :)

I told her about my last experience and she explained why my last purchase took so long to arrive and since she had my selection in stock, I would receive it in 5-7 business days. Funny how simple communication makes an experience completely different. She was such a great saleswoman, we ended up purchasing the sneakers, a purse, and a belt. All unplanned but well worth it. Incredibly poor customer service. I placed 2 separate pickup orders. I received 2 coupons from…read morecorporate in my order ready emails. The fine print on the coupons said the coupons were combineable with instore promotions. I went to the store twice to pick up each order and each time the clerks refused to TRY to scan the coupons or even look at it. I work in legal so I know how to review fine print (I have reviewed lengthy contracts for the last 15 years). When I was turned down at the first visit, I didn't push. At the second visit when I nicely asked the clerk, Lynn, to TRY scanning the coupon, she became argumentative. Lindsey, the store supervisor, then joined the conversation and was equally confrontational. I asked the manager to get involved--here enters Mickey. He was nice but refused to scan the coupon stating "if we do it for you, we'd have to do it for all." Well, yeah, if those other customers received coupons from corporate that explicitly stated they're combinable with instore promotions, then you SHOULD honor those coupons. I was so disappointed by both my visits that I returned 2 pairs of Adidas Evo SLs, 2 leggings and 2 tops. These were my first and last Adidas store purchases. Shoes, are one of those things that I don't mind spending money on, as a ill fitting, bad quality shoe will make you pay in other ways. However, there's an exception to that rule, it's when I'm only going to be wearing it for a one time special occasion, or maybe a few times, for a few hours and limited walking. These aren't traveling shoes, they're drinking and dancing shoes. They need to look nice, and be reasonably comfortable and work with whatever I bought to wear for the evening. At a price of 40 bucks, if they fall apart after one night I won't cry, these look like they'll even go for a bit longer. I also hit the clearance rack and found a great pair of business pumps reduced twice, those were 15 bucks, can't complain about that. Will this be a destination place for shoes? Probably not, however, I will stop in more often to take a you never know...look.

Came in an hour before closing because my boot heel came off and I have to fly out today…read more Was continually reminded by the staff "we're closing in 45 min" , then "we're closing in 30 min" then, when I was trying one last pair for fit, 20 min before closing, one of the girls came up to me to say "we're closing in 10 min" even though there were 20 min left before closing. When I told her "there are 20 min left, right?" She proceeded to tell me 10 minutes because they had things to do to close up. Yeesh. Talk about making customers feel unwelcome! Plus, no one was in the store, max 3x customers, but one staff member kept complaining about how they were short-staffed. Give me a break If no one shops there you have no job. I'll never go back to this location, what an unpleasant experience and for what? Because they wanted to rush customers out so they could close up early. I have worked retail, and while I understand wanting to go home, you shouldn't make customers feel unwelcome. I ordered…read morea pair of shoes online on May 15th and selected the in store pick up option in the Chicago store. I was informed that I would receive a follow up email when my shoes arrived for pick up- I never received this email. I proceeded to go into the store to check if my shoes were ready and this is when I had a troubling customer service experience. On May 29th, I came into the store and was immediately feeling targeted and uncomfortable. After the initial greeting by the male sales associate, there was minimal conversation with myself and the sales associate that was assisting me as I was being watched and she constantly looked me up and down during the transaction. She also looked uncomfortable as if this was her first time servicing a person of color. As a black woman, I felt racially profiled and judged for being in the store and it still baffles me because the whole transaction took about 5-7 minutes. In addition, I later found out that I had a free co-creation which I was never informed about by the sales associate. This was supposed to be a simple process of checking out and informing me of promotions but it was uncomfortable overall. As a first time customer of Golden Goose, I was extremely disappointed in my experience with the entire purchasing process as this should not have been my experience.
