Also, driver cant drive through neighborhood streets so make sure you ask everyone in the neighborhood to move their vehicle because he doesn't want to risk damages (they drive a truck bigger than the actual container itself, and had to return and get another truck). never going to use this company again. I've dealt with JD Services on occasion for several years and I've never had a problem until now. I recently ordered a 20 yard square bottom box but received a rounded scrap metal box that had huge holes in the bottom and sides but I made the best of it. The cost including hillside delivery and City of Oakland charges was $590. paid with my credit card. Sometime after pickup the bank alerts me of an unauthorized $90 charge from JD. I canceled this charge because my order was paid in full. Days later another attempted unauthorized charge for twice the amount $180. was made by JD, again I canceled and the bank changed my card numbers. After this I get a call from JD asking for more money. I said I paid in full, I've ordered from you before and never had phantom charges after the fact. Wendy said that she was only aware of one charge and "I see in notes that you say you're a repeat customer but this is the first time you've dealt with us". Not correct! I told her that I would communicate in writing because something is wrong! I feel like I've been slighted by an old friend. I've highly recommend JD Services to everyone in my line of work but I won't in the future because policies should be spelled out in advance and clients should not be subjected to unauthorized credit card charges after the fact. read more

Oh man, I wouldn't go with this company. I was warned but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.......boy I was wrong. Here are the list of issues...... (1) They don't give any windows, it will show up any time between 6:30am-8:00pm (2) The gal on the phone didn't tell me that if I don't schedule a pick up of the dump at the time of order then the pick up will be any time between 1-3 weeks after I call it in. (3) All the office assistants pretend to care, but make no mistake......they don't. No matter how nice or authentic they seem over the phone, it is all an act. (4) No manager is ever available and they never call you back (5) They don't come to pick up dump automatically hoping you will forget and they get to charge you $20 per day after the 10th day. (6) I did not get my terms and services agreement until the day they were going to deliver it so you cannot cancel the order with out getting charged 10% because at that point it is too late. Ordered 10 yards of base rock and when it arrived and was delivered, it was clear that the baserock was of very poor quality. It was over 50% fine sand/dirt and not much rock. While it does come from their supplier, they clearly have no quality control. They did refund me some money, but not enough to even cover the delivery fee. This company was my contractor's choice -I guess for cost reasons. I decided not to write here all the details, but yes their final pick up date is a black hole, unless you ask for another container or pay $125 for "expedite" pick up; which I guess everybody ends up paying, therefore I keep going down on that mysterious waiting list. As a customer, I feel taken advantage of and wonder if there isn't anything I can do. They illegally charged our card 1000 dollars yesterday . Staff is rude and refuses to speak to us . We had charged reversed at bank and plan on small claims court . If I could give zero stars I would. I've had the worse experience of my life with this people and their customer service. I have ordered dumpsters from them in the past. This latest one, they sent it over a month ago and refuse to come back to pick it up. I asked them to remove it over 2 weeks ago and still don't know when they will come. Today I was told it could be another 15-30 days. This has delayed my project with no end in sight. They did offer "expedited" pickup for a FEE to "jump" me ahead of everyone else in their pick up waiting list. Straight gangster. Don't use them, you are better off going to another company for this type of service. I'm passing the word to all the contractors and home flippers I know and work with and their networks. You don't get 2nd dumpster free but they apparently give you one 40cy that you can only put 20cy worth of weight. More than that weight will cost extra. There's no deal there, just bunch of bs trying to manipulate people. After calling them out on it, there was nobody to take responsibility or give explanation. I dealt with them before; pickup never on time, angry unprofessional drivers, you never get honest answer when you call them... Just a bad company all around that shouldn't be in business. They say it's a 1-4 business pick up and since they worked this past Saturday I'm at 4 business with no pick up insight. They say it may take another week to pick up the box. So if you order with these guys schedule a pick up and they will get to it when they are near your city. Also, they will not share with you if they have someone nearby and don't know where you are at on the pick up list. They said they have customers who have not been picked up since 10/14 which is 7 business days. Set expectations correctly don't tell customers 1-4 business days and then no perform. Ugh! I called a bunch of places to get quotes. JD Services actually answered the phone and were friendly, so that puts them ahead of half their competitors. Their estimate was the lowest by quite a bit, and in the end they charged me exactly what they quoted. They dropped off and picked up on the pre-arranged days. They lose a star because they didn't tell me what time they were coming to drop it off. They just showed up. Also, they kept sending me emails to e-sign their agreement even after I had signed a physical copy, e-signed a digital copy, and told their website to stop reminding me. read more

I HAVE "NO TRUST" in this company because I think they are padding there bills, and this is why. 1. I rented a 22 x 8x8 Dumpster from JD Services that was delivered on Nov. 8, 2018 ... got on it time with graffiti written on it. Now regardless of your political position, "F**k Trump" had been painted on the side in 15 inch letters. That is just Poor business behavior............. but it gets worries. 2. Within 5 days we filled it with green was, DRY wood and brush, to the top and wanted it pick up before the rain added to the weight. They missed two pick up dates and did not get till Dec. 8, 2018. By that time just a little rain fell. 3. They charged my card the flat rate of $645, I was good with that, and though I was done..... NOT. 4. I think it was July 1, 2019 I ordered another big Dumpster. When they checked my account from last time They said I owed $385 more for over weight charges. That did not seem right. That was when I found out they did not weigh the dumpster tell Jan 22, 2019. During that time, from google, it showed it had rained 2 inches in Dec and 3.74 inches in Jan. They said the water would just run thru.... No, some yes, but not all would run out the bottom. That green waste was very dry and would soak in much of that water. Here is who the business works. The ONLY PRODUCT they have to sell is weight. They charge us a price per pound which is higher than what it cost for them per pound to despose of. That is there profit margin and that is fair. BUT here is where the "Trust" comes in, in this process. What should happen is the dumpster should be weighted just before we get it, that is called the "tare weight". When it is picked up, at that time it should be weighed again. That is called the "gross weight". For example if the "tare weight" is 500 lbs. and the "gross weight" 2,700 lbs., you subtract the tare weight of 500 lbs. from the gross weight of 2,700 lbs. and get 2,200 lbs., that is your "net weight" and that is what you paying them to take. Say they charge you 18 cents per pound, then you own them 2,200 lbs. time 18 cents for a total of $396. Then they take your stuff and dispose of it at a cost of 11 cents per pound for a cost of $242, that leaves them with a profit of $154. ALL that is fair as long as they are truthful and that is where the "Trust" comes in. If they lie and lower the "tare" it is more profit for them at the rate of 11 cents per pound. A little lie of 50 lbs per day on each dumpster is only $5.50. If you do that on 20 dumpsters a day, that is $110 per day. They could also add things to your dumpster. Each pound add gives them 7 cents per pound. Just a little lie of 300 lbs. gives them $21 more that you pay. Twenty dumpsters a day gives them $420 per day. Total per day for a little lie is $574 times 20 days per month, is $11,480 times 12 months $137,760. That is a good motivator. For me it had to do with RAIN water. They got the dumpster on Dec. 8, 2018 and did not take it to the dumps tell Jan. 22, 2019. WHY???? .... It would not get lighter during the winter, but it would get heaver and that is more unearned profit AT MY EXPENSE. Just so you know my dumpster was 8ft x 22ft for a total surface area of 176 sq. ft. One sq. ft of water one inch deep weighs a little more the 5lbs. ( 5.202 lbs.). So for every inch of rain times the 176 sq. ft. is 915 lbs. In Dec 2018 the rain fall was 2 inch and for Jan. 2019 - 3.74 inches. Total for the time they had my dumpster 5.74 inches times 915 lbs. per inch of water for a total of 5,257 lbs. of water fell on my dumpster. I know all of it did not stay in the dumpster, but a lot of it did. Telling office manager Raquel all this she said no adjustment would be made. She seemed proud to be do strong about it. I pushed to talk with the owner, Joseph Bernardini, about it with the same above logic..... and he to had the same answer as Raquel. NOPE, I WOULD NOT TRUST THEM TO WEIGH A LOAD FAIRLY...... I think they cheat. In fact just before my phone talk with the owner, they found my old Visa card number from Dec. an ran the $385 charge thru. I was able to tell my bank that it was a "fraud" charge and they have pulled it. I will see it they fight it. For now the lost my business and I use two big dumpsters a year. Not quite sure what's up with all of these 1-star reviews? I have done LOTS of business with JD (ordered at least a dozen boxes in the last year) for my construction sites. They are very competitively priced, Serena the office gal is very helpful and nice over the phone. As long as you call it in and cancel on that day, they don't charge you for the extra days it takes them to pick up your box. I've had a variety of drop-off drivers.. some have been friendlier than others, but I haven't had a problem with any of them. They're the only debris box company I choose to work with. You should choose them too! read more

I have never dealt with such an unethical, unresponsive company with so little regard for customer service. Despite the fact that we've spent nearly $12,000 on their debris boxes during an excavation project at our home, they've often been slow to pick up and exchange boxes and cost us delays on the job. However, their most egregious behavior occurred this week, Our city posted tow-away notices on Tues. 8/22 for street repaving work to begin on Fri. 8/25. We contacted JD Services immediately that day and informed them that the dumpster needed to be picked up before 7:00 am. on Fri. 8/25. They responded by trying to use it as an opportunity to gouge us for more money, They said they couldn't guarantee it would be picked up on time unless we paid an additional $125 (in addition to the $550 we were charged for the dumpster). I declined to pay it because situation was not under our control. It was the City of Berkeley that needed it moved, not us and we gave JD Services as much notice as we had received. It seemed to me if they could expedite the pickup for a bribe, they could arrange to do it within 3 days under the circumstances. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she told me they'd do their best to have it removed before Friday. I called again on Thurs. afternoon when the dumpster was still there and was told the same thing. It didn't happen and the dumpster is now impeding the resurfacing work (see photo). read more

WORST RIP OFF EVER!! DO NOT USE. Last year I had to remove a lot of dirt under my house. I told him I needed at least 10 boxes but that the turn around must be quick so I don't lose time paying the workers. First day showed up 3 hours late! With 5 guys waiting to work I lost money. Turn around bad!! Had to wait again between pick up and drop off. I had to stop they work due to some other issues after 6 boxes. When I got the final bill Joe charged me for 8 boxes. He said he would credit me when I started work again. What?? that is over $1000 Well finally ready to start again and probably will need another 6 boxes, but called Joe to ask about the credit. Earlier in the week he said he would check and get back to me, LIAR. I called several days later and lady answering the phone pulled up my records immediately and said I had no credit, so I asked her to tell Joe to call me back. I called this morning and he was in, but when she asked me what it was about he didn't get on the phone and said he was busy and would call me back. We'll see what he does and if he is true to his word. From the reviews I bet not. Time to call BBB and also a NEWS Channel to expose this joker if he does not give me my two boxes. They can get you the dumpster delivered and youll pay extra fees for weight , but they left it sit there for a week after I called them to pick it up. It took at least 10 (threatening ) phone calls before someone showed up and said they have six hundred dump bins ut only 15 trucks and nine were down with repairs. This is probably one of the most unprofessional businesses I've ever dealt with. When I called to place an order for a box and porter potty everything seemed to be fine. The day my box was due to be delivered I called to make sure everything was going as planned, I asked for the time I would get my box, they didn't know. They didn't even have an estimated time. So I asked for them to call me before they deliver it so I can make sure someone is home, they did not. I received a call from Wendy saying the driver is leaving because no one is there to let them in, and that I'm being charged for them having to "come all that way and waste our time" she kept telling me that I should have been more clear and that I should have stated that when I placed my order. How do you get more clear? I asked to receive a call before they get here, how much clearer can one be? And if it was a misunderstanding why didn't anyone call me? So I called back and spoke with a lady named Rachel, she was no help. I asked about my porter potty and she didn't know when I would be getting that either. When the porter potty finally did arrive, it had another company's name on it. So I did some research and apparently they use a company called "Honey Bucket" and rent their services then charged me an arm and a leg for it. I called around, and this company had the best prices on all sizes and weights of dumpsters. For example, JD's 20 yard dumpster was $25 cheaper than one company and $58 cheaper than another company. Their weight limit on the 20 yard dumpster, 3 tons, was exactly the same as other companies. They dropped off the dumpster right on schedule, and put it exactly where I asked them to put it. I asked them if I could keep the dumpster longer than the scheduled 7 days, and they said no problem... they let me keep the dumpster for 2 weeks, at no additional charge! read more

HORRIBLE!!! I wish zero stars was an option. I work for a construction company and have made the mistake of using them 3 times. Even though their pricing may seem competitive their lack of customer service does not make up for it and when they show up unannounced and the box can't be removed their $120 delivery fee will price the box as the same as waste management. None of the times did they deliver during their time frames, which by the way is 1-4 business days. They start their routes at 6am which is ludacris because they don't start answering phones until 7am so we don't know when we get our boxes until they're on site. I made it perfectly clear that the only place the boxes fit is in the way by equipment during work hours 7-3pm. I practically begged them to do drop off before or after, just that simple. I was told that was not going to be a problem all 3 times and the most recent time it didn't arrive until 9:30am!!!! I was told they don't know when their drivers will be on our route, that they can only give us a 30 min window. I don't understand how they're in business. They have horrible hours, lack of accountability and no organization skills. You're better off walking to the nearest dump site than waiting for these bozos to pick up your box. This place is bad news: Bad drivers, poor work attitude, and the company does not take responsibility for their mistakes passing along extra costs and headaches to the customer. 2 thumbs down from a guy that generates a lot of garbage and does a lot of demolition work. I ordered a 30 yard debris box and 3 refills in the subsequent days. The first driver and the first box they dropped off was fine - the entrance to the building was a little tight but he made it happen with a little extra work. Drivers name was Robbie and I gave him a $40 tip for his troubles. Called the company that night to tell them that the next driver should bring a smaller rig and reverse into the building. The next morning they sent out another driver to swap the full box for the empty box, he showed up in a similar sized truck, took one look at the entrance approach and refused to drive his truck in (the same truck they sent the day before that successfully entered the bldg) and left. They immediately charged me $125 for a rescheduling fee and told me this truck was bigger than the first one! Same morning they send another driver with a smaller truck to come, mind you this rig is even smaller than the first rig that made it into the building on day one. The driver of this smaller truck is full of attitude, complaints, and a scowl on his face. He is making demands that we empty the parking lot so he can fit his truck in. We comply and despite our request not to, he leaves the empty debris box in the street claiming he doesn't have room to unload it next to the full one he's about to pick up. What a joke, I'm not a truck driver but I could have done the job better and it was obvious that both boxes would fit. So he's tarping the full box, complaining the whole way and throwing nasty looks at me and my crew. He loads the full box, drives it out into the street, drops it next to the empty box, loads the empty box, and drives back into our bldg. While the empty box was in the street some knuckleheads drove by and dumped a bunch of car bumpers into it! Only in east oakland... We take a picture of the box their driver left unattended and it looked about 1/3 full to me. We load it the rest of the way and I call the company to ask for 1/3 price break on the box. They offer me $50 off and tell me they fired that driver because it's not the first time he's messed up. I get on the phone with the manager to tell her to cancel the rest of my order because I'm done wasting my time handholding their inept drivers. She tells me they're going to charge me an additional cancellation fee on top of the $125 for the truck that wouldn't enter. In the end I filled up about 50 cubic yards of garbage, got charged for 60, and an additional $125. This place sucks! read more

So put my order in and received a service agreement in an email. I foolishly e-signed it without reading it from my phone. They said it would be delivered the next day. The next morning I got a call unexpectedly at 6:35 AM (I was in the shower getting ready for work) that they were here and ready to deliver and that I needed to move some cars.... I went outside and the dumpster was on a much larger than expected truck, I was immediately skeptical that they would be able to back in. The driver got out and explained that I would have to move the two cars in front of my house and at least one car across the street for him to be able to make the delivery. Since none of the cars were mine I was screwed. I realize that it's my own fault for not reading the contract carefully, but I really think they should have said you needed 50 feet from the start of your drive way so I would have known to measure that. I wouldn't have placed the order otherwise. I live on a typical residential street in Oakland, from my experience I would guess that they couldn't deliver to the vast majority of residences in the East Bay. They will show up, charge you for the trip and then not refund the dumpster fee. Bottom line: If you live in an urban neighborhood, and there are cars that you can't move any where near your house, they wont be able to drop off or pick up your dumpster and you will be charged $125 read more
