Easy parking in a massive open parking lot. Walked in to this monster department store that offers men's, women's and children clothing. The first floor consists of the women's and children's clothing in addition to a major brand cosmetic area. Unfortunately, the men's clothing is upstairs, and I'm tired, but has a great Levis denim jean display which is surrounded by an array of random merchandise like scented candles and other gift type products. Excellent $20.00 and under on short sleeve collar shirts in the men's clothing section. Many other discounts in various areas of the store. read more

I'm so happy with the Portrait Studio at the JCPenney in Broward Mall. I made the reservation online, and the entire process was smooth. Staff was welcoming and Josh was awesome with our pup. I came to JCpenny's today, and bought my son a pair of pants, when I bought them THEY DIDN'T have a tag on them. The lady that I bought them from told me not to worry, if they don't fit, you can get your money back because of your receipt. The Sales Associate MIMI. I bought them, never left the mall. Went to Macy's because my wife and son was down there trying on clothes. He tried them on, they didn't fit. So I came back to JCPenny's spoke to two Managers. The First Lady, older lady, told me I couldn't return them. After tongue wrestling with her, I asked to speak to someone above her. That's when I met ALLAN. Spoke my case to him, he tried to tell me those weren't the same pants. Now here goes the foolery. I'm currently waiting on Plantation Police Department I implore you goto Macy's, or some place else that sells the same thing, because they will lie to you openly in your face. They will give you an incredibly hard time. And the only thing I'm returning are a pair of Nike Dri Fit pants. Don't do it to yourself. Just goto Macy's. They treat you better. Maybe it's because I'm black. Because this is NOT HOW CUSTOMER SERVICE WORKS. I'm a General Manager myself. And this is horrible. I'm going to post this everywhere, so people stay clear of JCpennys. This is a large, well kept and very neat JC Penney. I have been to others that are disorganized and messy, so this one is a pleasure to shop in. This week, I saw some renovation being done on the first floor, so I am glad to see that they are investing in this store. I went to check on some hair products since they have their salon department in the back and they sometimes run sales on their health and beauty products. They had a good selection and good prices. A Ok. They have all the normal stock and areas that you'd expect. There were pockets of areas that were a little disorganized and could have used some help with being cleaned, but it was overall well kept. The store looks older and in need of a bit of a face lift, but I feel like a lot of the major anchor stores are starting to look that way and it's just kinda how it is now. They have two floors with clothing and shoes on the one, and home decor, mattresses, kitchen jazz on the other. We saw minimal staff, which again, seems like par for the course at the anchor chains now. They run on skeletal staff to keep costs down, but it's probably also why there were pockets of chaotic areas. Overall: B A OK. A good shopping spot, but could use a face-lift into the modern and more staff to assist in keeping the areas clean and register check outs open. read more

Mostly all of my shopping is done online and this visit made me realize just how much I dislike being in stores during the pandemic. I found a great parking space and my goal was to be in and out within fifteen minutes, max, but it didn't take me more than ten minutes to leave. My goal was accomplished because the store isn't being managed well. I was there to pick up a pair of sneakers they were holding for me as a courtesy. I wasn't planning on walking around the store, just wanted to try them on to make sure they fit, make my purchase and leave. There were no employees working in the shoe department. I looked for someone to help me but I couldn't find anyone. The one person I found was of no help because they told me they were going on a break. Awesome. The store seems to be in chaos. School starts soon and there were plenty of frustrated shoppers probably wishing they had a xanax to pop. The air conditioning wasn't working well because the store was warm and uncomfortable. I will continue to stay out of the stores and do my shopping online. read more

We came in to get gifts for our family. We had clothing items that we went to purchase that were marked on sale and ended up not being on sale. So my husband fell and broke his glasses. Of course it happened at night so we had to wait till the next day to see what places would be open. We went a couple places but when we get there it was by appointment only and believe you me I understand why just not convenient when you need a quick fix! So we ended up at JC Penny and they were more than happy to fix my husband's glasses even tho we did not buy them their. The girl fixed then beautifully and said no charge! We tried to tip her and she wouldn't take it. Definitely recommend you check this place out if you need glasses. We will definitely be coming here for our next appointment! An old location but it has quite a decent collection of men's clothes that are located upstairs. I didn't see any staff willing to help us. So IRRITATED!!! I book an apt for my buisness photos .. I had to ask to get full body shots! It was like the worst experience ever.. they show me the photos and most of the headshots are in black and white or with a prison blue back ground, the full body photos had a gray brick looking floor and the curtain green behind its all bunched up.. ugg the girl showing me picks says you can take home and photo shop them "Really" I am paying 4 picture's to be done so maybe I should go home and take pictures myself and photo shop them .. In fact, it was so frustrating to check out with her because she was just giving me a hard time when I showed her my barcode in the app to scan. Again, another standard JCPenney's but it's always a pleasure to shop at because it's not too busy and it's pretty affordable. I'm the ultimate bargain shopper so find me at the sale rack. This review is solely based on the order online feature they have. 1. You shop online and place the order. 2. If they have the product on hand, it could be available the same day for pickup. 3. If it's at another location or warehouse, they will ship it to the store within a week and notify you that your order is ready for pickup. 4. You can find some good coupons to apply to your order. 5. Getting your order is fairly easy, wait in line, give them your ID, they bring the product out, you can inspect it, and wallah! You're on your way. The last time I went to pick up an order (Saturday) the line was super long but it moved quickly. The second I went there was no line and I was in and out! To pick up your order, go to the second floor in the home section. Overall, a good experience and I'd definitely shop here again whether it be online or in store. read more

JC Penney is a store I really don't mind. Typically I'm not a fan of these types of stores because nothing stands out. I feel like if you shop at one of these department stores, you basically look like you shop at any of them; they all blend together and look exactly the same. That being said, I can always find something I think I need here. It's a little on the dreary side. I don't remember the last time, if at all, that I have seen a store get redesign or face lift. Pricing can be good at times. Sometimes I think they are a little overpriced for what you're buying but they tend to always have coupons. Typically they are understaffed and the lines to check out are way too long and slow moving. Typically I buy fun tshirts there that I can get for 2 for 20. Other than that I just usually mill through the clearance areas. It's a good place for me to kill some time and also I know I won't spend a ton of money there either. read more

I have not shopped at JCP in a decade or two and I know why. This was one of the worst shopping experiences I've had in as long as I can remember. On entry, I can see the escalator with a yellow caution blockade around the entrance. It was out of order. At least the opposite side was off for walking up and down. This was the first impression but the second was a somewhat dated feel. I was in for curtains so I "walked" up to the second floor. I found the department and looked for a desired product. It took a while and when I found something I liked, the shelf was empty. On further inspection, most shelves were empty. This was the sheer but there was no black-out to match... poor. I decided I would take the sheer so it was time to find an employee for assistance. I hope you're not in a hurry. When I did finally find someone, she asked if she could help but was quickly followed by another customer. I guess that's what happens when you're the only one. :-( I showed her what I wanted but she really wasn't listening and proceeded to try to show me other product. When I stated... "this is the one I want", she told me there was no stock. Let's look online. She was not tech savvy and this took a bit She finally found the product and let me know no stores in SoFlo had it but we can order it. Great, can you ship it to my home? No, it has to go to a store. Ok but this is not the closest to my home. Can it go to the Coral Square store? Yes. Ok, let's place the order. After many missteps with my personal information... everything was misspelled and numbers were not accurate, I finally had it corrected. During this time, another employee, possibly a manager, points out she is needed elsewhere. After this was complete, I asked another question but was made to feel she was too busy for any further assistance. Ok, I had already decided Ida was awful! To add insult to injury, the next morning an email arrives to confirm the order. I immediately see the order is not going to my store but the ordering store. I call the 800 number and after some research, I am told an order can only be changed within 10 minutes of placement. I can place a second order (on my card) but I still have to go to the ordering store for a pick-up and return. Do not shop at JCP. They are so backwards! read more

My fave place to shop for clothes, I can get blouses, pants, jackets and good quality makeup, all in the same store. Sephora Rant: I often go to Sephora inside this JC Penny location, as it is close by. Recently I've been disappointed several times by Sephora, as they seem to be out of stock of most items for weeks, and appear often understaffed, or some staff not knowing a whole lot about rewards programs and offers. Prior to the last two months, I hadn't had an issue with this location...but something is definitely going on, and had to end up going to Ulta, who at least is well stocked. Unfortunately Ulta does not carry some brands such as Nars. I much prefer the Sephora in Pembroke Lakes Mall, but it is a bit of a drive. I am disappointed in the Sephora at Westfield Broward Mall. But JC Penny itself carries sophisticated and contemporary clothing, without breaking the bank. For a long time I was unsure where to get clothing that not only fits and looks good, but is also affordable (especially with coupons and door buster deals and sales). I've been shopping at this JCP location for the past couple years and I haven't regretted it since. Love it. read more

Every single tester that was out (because half of them were empty) were dry, damaged, or needed to be sharpened. It was a mess, things definitely needed to be restocked and cleaned. I go to the salon there because my favorite stylist works there part time. The salon needs to offer discounts for longtime, loyal customers not just coupons for the products. The internet in the salon never works eventhough there's supposed access and the women's bathroom is almost always super gross. I have had a very hard time finding a stylist that either I feel comfortable enough cutting my hair or one that actually listens to what I want before they cut it. I have been to and through a few stylists/salons in the last 18 years, from Cooper City to Fort Lauderdale. Some I have revisited once or twice and others were a one time shot. When I pay $100 + I want my haircut to be noticeable but not leave there with the exact opposite of what I had visioned, or barely a cut and more of a blow dry style that only last until you wash it. This review is specifically for Stylist, Kelly. She was fantastic. She was the one who answered the phone when I originally called. When speaking to hear I thought she was the receptionist, and I vented and shared some previous situations and she totally listened & understood. After speaking with her (for quite sometime) I found out she was a stylist and I knew I wanted her to cut my hair. I scheduled to go in a few days later and she was ready to either give me a personal consult and I could walk away at anytime (at No Charge) or start cutting, whatever I wanted.... After talking for about 30 min (and her listening & understanding what I wanted & did not want) we decided to go forward. Because I was so comfortable with her, I added on a color service as well. She took the time needed every step of the way. She was as excited and I. Usually I get nervous (I guess that trust is never there) but with Kelly I really was not nervous at all (maybe anxious to see the end result, but not nervous).... At the end of the day, I had about 12/13 inches cut off, and the style that I was looking for.... I knew I would never look like the girls in the pic I showed her, I am not them, and she is not their stylist but like she said, I would have the cut that would be my version of some of the pics I had showed her. She liked the fact I knew and realized that my cut would never be the exact as the pic I showed her & I liked that fact she didn't try to BS me thinking it would. JCPenny is the new Macy's, the new Kohl's and the new Target... the deals here are really impressive. I usually go on JCPenny Cash days, where you get $10 off when you spend $25. I am always impressed with the quality of the clothes. I am a huge fan of the a.n.a. brand, and with the sales, I ended up getting a $50 pair of jeans for only $20. This location in the Broward Mall just underwent a renovation - so the inside is shiny and new. The clothes are well organized, and there's lots of great clearance racks. This location also has a Sephora inside, which is really convenient. Me gusta Pennies. read more

Feeling frustrated! I was in Penny's to purchase new bra's! I selected a handful and could not locate a marked fitting room and asked an employee for the nearest one. She directed me to one that was not marked in that department. The employee did not check on me to see if I needed another size or style. This event reminded me why I usually order online because of encountering poor customer service in the stores. I try to shop at stores so you stay open but being treated like this frustrates me! Asked for a 6:30 appt for an elderly parent. Was told the latest they can offer is at 6 pm. Changed my schedule and rushed with elderly parent to get there at 6. After 30 minutes of waiting we were told we'd have to wait another 15 minutes. 45 min wait time is not acceptable anywhere, let alone for a haircut for an elderly person on oxygen. I was very disappointed when I went to JcPenney on 2/27. I've recently lost weight and went to purchase new clothes. My first stop was intimate apparel to purchase underwear. Since I've lost weight and dont know my size I went to the fitting room to try a few pair on. The lady working gave me a dirty look and in a nasty tone said : "we don't let people try those on." I've worked for JcPenney in the past and our store let customers try underwear on. Macy's, Victoria's Secret, and Kohl's also allow underwear to be tried on. I was so turned off byher attitude I put my items down and walked out without making a purchase. I then went to Kohl's and spent over $300. If JcPenney does not allow customers to try certain items on - fine. But your employee could've been a little less rude when she informed me. She simply could've smiled and said "I'm sorry... JcPenney doesn't allow customers to try underwear on" and helped me find my size. A little politeness goes a long way. read more

I made an appointment at the salon in JCPenney in Broward mall to have my hair cut, full highlights and blown out. I specifically stated that I wanted a full set of highlights from the beginning and told Avalyn I did not want them thick. I requested a lighter blonde than I had previously done. After 3 hours, the results were nothing as I requested. You can clearly see where my old highlights were and a pathetic attempt at partial (at BEST!) highlights. They did not match and now my hair looks like it has been dip dyed. When the stylist (Avalyn) was blow drying my hair, I requested for it to be straight. She took it upon herself to curl my hair under. I asked her to fix it and she made a pathetic attempt at that as well. When I expressed my unsatisfaction with the horrible color, she told me she would "do it again", not taking into consideration the hours I have already wasted in the salon or the numerous chemicals that have already been in my hair for the day. I spoke with the woman at the desk and was told "next time, ask for a full set." I told her that is what I requested and that is what you are charging me for but it is certainly not a full set or anything close to it. Completely disgusted with the way I was treated after the stylist did not come close to what I requested. If you would like to choose your own hairstyle and color, I strongly suggest picking a different salon with integrity. read more

I ordered a sleeper sofa on January 9, 2016 we were told it would be delivered in 4-6 weeks (that would put delivery the latest, the last week of February). We have company coming the beginning of March so we were ok with that time frame (a long time but settled). The couch was a "special order" due to upgrading of the mattress and I had to give a deposit. I called the number provided from JCPenny to follow up on delivery on three separate occasions. This past Monday I called, they stated the first week of March but I could call back on Friday to see if the status changed. I called back Friday and they then gave me a date of March 18 it would be ready to go out for delivery (at this point my company would have been already gone). I then asked them to cancel my order, that I would have to go to another store to purchase a sleeper sofa. They told me I had to go to the store to cancel the order. I went into the store at the Broward Mall to cancel. They refused to give me my deposit and told me when the company calls for delivery that I need to refuse delivery I would be charged and then reimbursed. At this point I have to call my credit card company to refuse the charge because I'm not sure they will reimburse me or for the full amount. I went to City Furniture, purchased a sleeper sofa with the upgraded memory foam mattress and it was delivered the next day. I am not sure why JCPenny has such an issue with the mattress. I will not buy from JCPenny Furniture again. The final ship out date was 10 weeks from purchase date. Very frustrating experience. The saleswoman at the store assures me that I should have gone back into the store sooner and that they could have moved the date up. She also said at the time of purchase that it should not take 6 weeks but they have to give the longer time frame just in case. So why was it now taking 10 weeks? I am not sure she could have done a thing about moving the date sooner if she couldn't in the first place. She also refused to return my deposit. We did not get what we were purchasing! read more
