I see by previous reviews that this store is short on customer service. And I saw that also - the only employees I found were at the register. The register was very near the door and although there was a line, I walked up to the side and asked a cashier where the baby items were. She seemed to be shadowing the person next to her so she was able to give me her attention and shot her arm in the direction saying, 'straight down the hall'. They had a large selection of baby clothes and many were on sale. I haven't shopped for a baby shower in a while, so I just grabbed the obvious - burp towels, blanket, bath towels and a few onesies. Yes, the stores these days are void of any salesclerks. Any wonder when so many people shop online now? But the stores could come up with a way to assist us. I'm the type of shopper that will walk out empty-handed, rather than walk around searching for something they may not even carry. As a matter of fact, I came to Penneys because I checked online to find who around me carried Minnie Mouse, as that was the baby shower theme. Penneys showed a few items that are 'in stock', but when I was searching the baby area, I didn't find them and had to choose something else. I'm sure they can come up with a button for us to push for assistance - and the person who answers can help from a remote location! My checkout was quick and when I asked about a gift bag, the cashier told me they don't carry them anymore but gave me directions to a dollar store (ugh) so I could grab a gift bag. She was friendly and didn't rush me. Offered me a nice discount if I opened a credit card account! I do shop online, but for those important buys, there's nothing like seeing it in person. I sent 12 orders this Christmas, all were delivered as addressed except one. Stated delivered 12/17 to Colorado address. by UPS. I was just notified not received so I resent with intention to have JCP to handle the lost item.. Amazing by their policy, I need to file a police report, to report it stolen ?? I have no idea what happened once UPS has possession! Then I send the Police report to an email CCR-SM@JCP.com before they even consider the credit for lost item. So I told her to cancel the new replacement order I placed. Can't after 30 minutes. So normally the store/sender would file a claim with UPS, RIGHT!! Lesson learned, According to Sally JCP if it says delivered that is what happened Then customer (me) has to jump through hoops to get credit & wait to replace the Christmas Present. Absolutely NO customer service. Walked around for 45 minutes in the Home section looking for help. Needed to purchase several pairs of curtains and a rod and saw no carts or anything since they have only register in the entire store on the lower floor. Had to call on.the phone while I was in the store to get some assistance and still noone came. I have no idea how this place is staying in business. read more

Overall it was a good experience easy walk-in and return. Just the parking lots super packed for a Sunday. Although glad there is still a location open that I can go to. Always been a customer since my teens would hate to see them go. read more

Review for Sephora in JCP Stopped in to get my free birthday gift that is given when signing up for a Sephora account online. The space allotted for Sephora was pretty big and they take advantage of the space with TONS of different products. Gave them my email address to pick up free gift and attendant chose one of the 2 products offered and gave it to me. I asked if they had any of the other option and she asked someone else who said that they did have some more it was just in the back. So glad I had the option to pick myself because I really had my eye set on the "Bite" products, and now using them will be back to purchase the full size options. read more

I walked in and was needing some assistance in the make up area and asked a young lady with curly hair and she was just on her phone the entire time texting !!! I then just decided to go look at the woman's clothes and see a guy go to the make up aisle (I'm assuming he's another employee cuz he had a badge) and those two were giggling and talking NON STOP ! Place has actually good bargains if you look good enough OR in the app (in which they frequently add extra discount coupons and deals and all of that stuff) I like their clothes style that's why I visit here more often than other stores, the only downside are the checkout lines.. might be because I visit during holiday season but every time I go the lines are looooong and not to mention the time it takes for each customer to leave because they also want to redeem their coupons and check prices and whatnot.. read more

Went on Black Friday & again on Sat. BOTH days they have SIGNS on entrance doors saying Masks are MANDATORY. Half the shoppers were un masked ? NO enforcement. Spoke with Mgr. He said call corporate ? I DID. They made EXCUSES. Simply either ENFORCE it or take DOWN the signs. Their SALES & DISCOUNTS are NOTHING more than Dollar tore JUNK. OVER PRICED to mark down & use REWARDS to get it down to a REAL PRICE. When you take BACK what didn't work you LOOSE the REWARDS ? Can't use them on something else so NO real REWARD to be had. My first statement being my most poignant: I went out of my way, to reset my yelp password for my yelp account that has been inactive for YEARS due to my absolutely horrendous experience with JCPenney both online and in store. I placed an online order on September 1st for two shirts online. When I received my order I received one correct item and one incorrect item. I called JCPenney customer service to resolve the incorrect item sent to me. I was told that it was up to me to either mail back said item OR bring it to a JCP store to return and reorder. Today I visited the Mesquite, TX JCP in the Towneast mall. I visit a checkout stand and am told that I cannot return my item there I need to go to a separate floor. So I go downstairs to this particular stand. The young lady returns my incorrect item and processes a new order for the correct item to be shipped to me. I received an email once I returned home that there was an issue processing my payment (a payment that I did not make because the cashier handled the transaction because I had already made the purchase.) and that I needed to call JCP customer service. So I did. I called the customer service line and the gentleman I spoke with said he had to get in touch with the store. He placed me on hold and maybe 2-3 minutes pass and he returns saying he could not reach the store and may he call me back when he reaches them. I obliged and less than 10 minutes later he calls me back stating he could not reach them and that I could either call myself or return to the store. JCP am I suppose to get ahold of a store that you yourself cannot seem to get ahold of? At this point I requested to be escalated to a supervisor. When I reached the supervisor he let me know I could return to the store to solve my issue. I stated "so you are telling me, that due to a JCP error, not once, BUT TWICE I have to go out of my own way to resolve it?JCP has now made TWO errors and I the customer have to make it right?!" He said yes there was nothing he could do for me. JCP I find your lack of customer service deplorable. I now do not even have the incorrect item and am out the money that I paid, but it's still up to me to fix it after two errors made by you. What a shame. read more

I made a purchase with JCPenney's two days ago which was Christmas. Within minutes of making the purchase I had changed my mind and wanted to cancel. Of course no link to cancel. Research the website and it said you have 30 minutes to cancel your order and the only way to cancel is to call. I called to find out the company is closed. How convenient tha t they only allow 30 minutes to cancels and they are closed. Next step I send an email, again within the 30 minutes timeline. Attached to the email was a copy of the receipt. Next day I contine to call and never was able to get a hold of anyone. Now it's two days later and I finally get a response from my email which claims they can not open my attached due to security!! They now request my name, address, phone number and order number. All of this information they already have. Next I called again and went to a different dept and was able to talk to a girl name Andredn. She didn't seem to understand the problem which I had to keep repeating. All she could do was forward an email that I was dissatisfied. Asked for manager, talked to Keyonna, more of the same couldn't help because it has been over the 30 minutes. She keep yelling at me that when I placed the order it was Christmas and she was allowed to spend time with her family and she wouldn't let me talk as she was ranting on about her family. I tried to tell her that was my point since no one was their I should be allotted more time to cancel since they were close. She hang-up on me. Next spoke to Amber in the corp office and she said it had already shipping but she be willing to send me shipping label which will cost me $8. It is a nightmare dealing with JCPenneys. I like this store-except for the seemingly never ending construction. JC Penny has been getting a pretty bad rap lately-and I don't get it. I like the men's section- they have some really nice clothes and at reasonable prices. I love to go look at the clearance tie area-I have found some great bow ties for only 6 bucks there. Score! The sales associates are not the most helpful I have ever experienced, but they are not bad-very middle of the pack. I don't quite get the whole jeans and t-shirt look for everyone. Why aren't they wearing some of the nicer offerings they carry? The kitchenware and small appliances also have some very nice items-priced very competitively. I haven't really taken the time to look at the furniture-but from what I have seen they have some nice offerings. Bottom line-I do like the selection and find some great values- I just wish they would completely finish the remodel. read more

My partner loves this store, however, I am not the fan. They have over priced and over sized mens clothes, a womens, kids, and house ware section. I wasted 1 hour trying to find anything I would wear or use and found nothing. Please JCP get with the times. read more

JC Penny is my personal favorite Department store with everything you need from the mall. Prices that don`t leave you day dreaming on how Hot you`d be if you could afford to take it home and still go out. JCPenny always has Promotions and sales, usually every weekend and if you join there mailing list you will get birthday coupons and list only. They also opened a Sephora (make-up store) on the upper level next to jewelry and women s clothing. This Location also offers a photo studio, ophthalmology, and hair saloon. I usually park and go in to the mall through here because I usually find something I need or can`t live without, ( also mall has handicap and expecting mothers spots on the lower level in between Macys and JcPennys. read more

Clothes and apparel are great But If you would answer the Dang! phone it would be awesome ! I have been in that store on a Wednesday at 1pm and not a soul there buying shoes. So I know they can't be that busy. I called to inquire about a shoe and it rang 47 times. I called back and spoke to the operator again and it rang 52 times . She finally got some one to answer. It's larger than the one we are use too real spread out with two floors. They have a large department for furniture which is a bonus. All in all its very convenient in the mall. Down side it's in the mall a lot of traffic in the store. read more

This rating is for the portrait studio INSIDE JCPenney, not the store itself. Yesterday my mother brought me here to get some pictures done for my graduation invitations. I've been to many portait studios before, but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. We had set up an appointment at 2. We were running a tad late, but we were at the front desk exactly at 2. Yet for TEN minutes we saw no one but other customers. Finally a worker appeared and we told her that we were here for our 2 pm appointment. She then had the audacity to tell us that since we were "late" we would be counted as a walk in. When we and several others insisted that no, we were not late, she told us that since there was no one at the desk to verify we had no proof. From that moment I knew this wasn't going to be a good experience, but I tried to push that though aside. After waiting for half an hour, much of which her and two other coworkers(whom I never saw actually working) spent having a little pizza party amongst themselves while their lobby filled up with waiting customers. Finally we get back there to do my pictures, and honestly, that has to be one of the most uninspired photographers ever. She put me in angles that show cased the parts of the body one would want to hide, put me in awkward positions, and rushed through the entire thing. We then had to go out and wait 40 minutes to actually see our pictures, mostly because the other two workers wanted to continue eating their pizza and the only one actually working was having a long meaningless conversation with a very large family two positions ahead of us. And finally, to top the whole experience off, we finally got to see our pictures. It's really too bad we didn't get much of a say in what we wanted. We were able to select 5 pictures and have the options of some sort of border or decoration on them. When we found one we liked, the worker immediately changed it to something else because it "didn't look that nice." Last I checked, it was our opinion that mattered, not hers. All in all, it was a terrible experience and I definitely will not go back. This may be fine if you want to take a few quick pictures of some small children, but not if you want anything that will look even remotely decent. read more

First I want to be clear that this review is for the Sephora that's inside this JC Penney's and not the JC Penney's itself. I went in about a week ago looking for a certain face palette that was having its in-store release. This was a very popular item that was limited edition. I arrived an hour after they had opened only to have the worker tell me that they were sold out. To this I was very confused because this was the morning of the release date. The worker then explained that they had done a "pre-sale" of the product, and that they sold it as soon as they got the shipment in. This is extremely aggravating to me considering I had woken up early to ensure I got this product before it sold out and also I had had to drive quite far out of my way to get there. She justified this by saying that they were allowed to "pre-sale" items because they were a Sephora inside JC Penney's and not a free standing Sephora. Overall I just find what they did to be rude and I will not be shopping at that location again. read more

Went in to for my regular 6 month check up on my ring and to send it off to be dipped again and after a month gone I go up there. Don't have no record of my ring. And this isn't just any ring it was my engagement ring! They were suppose to call me back that day to let me know something and never got a call. My husband had to call back 3 days later to find out that they have lost it. I'm so furious! And to them it's we apologize and will replace it or give you your money back. But really!?!?! I want my original. The meaning of it is so much more.... Never will I ever give them a dime of my money again. read more
