This review is specifically towards the James Avery Retail section they have in Dillard's. I had bought a bracelet for my younger sister at this department on Friday and she, unfortunately, broke the clasp on Sunday. I decided to go to the James Avery in Dillard's on Monday to see if they offered a solution for the broken bracelet such as returning it, replacing it or paying for a repair. The older lady there was condescending, dismissive and unprofessional. She offered no possible solution for the broken clasp and told me to contact James Avery headquarters to see if they had a solution. She then dismissively dropped the bracelet onto my palm and said "Sorry, can't help ya". After this, I decided to do my own research and decided to go to the James Avery in Northpark. There they offered me to replace the broken clasp of my bracelet for free and finished in just an hour. read more

Try to return a dress with the tags on still . I got two dresses to pick from for my father in law funeral. I kept the one i was going to wear and try to return the other dress - i try to return it three days later. The lady was not kind - i was very sad still . She accused me of wearing it . I was no , i did try it on her at store and once again at home to see which dress i was going to wear . No marks , no stains . She made me feel like a lier . I would recommend that you go to a different Dillards. Very unprofessional staff here especially the management. Jennifer in women's was very rude and accusing me of trying to return a dress after being worn, apparently there is a policy that you cannot return anything without the tag attached. I came to Dillards to return a product I bought from Mac. But, because I didn't have my debit card on me I was told I could only get a gift receipt. Well, I found some shoes that had a 65% tag on it, but when it rung up at 40% I showed the lady that it has a 65% off tag on the shoe. She was going to honor it, but wanted to call a manager first. The manager April said she could only give me 10% on top of the 40%, because it wouldn't allow her to override 65%. But, I know that she had the capability to do it. She just chose not to honor Dillards mistake. I explained to her that if something is marked incorrect that Dillards has to honor it. AVOID WOMEN'S DRESS DEPARTMENT AT TOWN EAST IN DALLAS AREA!!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A RETURN!!!! i bought two dresses online, tried them on, decided not to keep either one, put them back on the hangers, bag the dresses, back in the box they came in. Went in to return, they would only take one, because even though I didn't wear either, tags still on and everything, apparently two assoiciates a little discoloration around the v-neck. I didn't see it, maybe it was the lighting, anyway I asked what if it was sent me this way, I never wore it, didn't matter. It was sent to me from the vendor didn't, they didn't care what I had to say. I got a little upset, took my refund for the other dress, and told them I wll never come back. I'm sure they don't care, but I felt better after the way I was treated. There was one lady who helped me, who didn't hava a name tag unfortunately, so I couldn't get her name, I have delt with her before, not a big fan. I will never go back to the women's department of the Dillard's at Town East again, it's been gong doen hill and not getting any better. Better customer service might be helpful, I am 99% positive if I went to a different Dillard's I would not have the same problem. read more

If I could give them a zero I would. Purchased a dress on 3/5 for an event went home and tried it on and did not like the way the dress fit nor looked with my shoes so I decided to wear a different dress. Tried returning the dress on 3/10 and immediately was approached with rude employees stating that the dress had been worn and they could not take it back I asked to speak to a manager and they stated that she was not there. I requested for their corporate number and was provided it, Called their corporate office and was provided with the District Manager name I contacted him and he stated that he would return my call once he did he asked that I go upstairs and ask for Jody the Manager that was supposedly not there. Went upstairs explained to her the situation she went as to far as to say that the tags were altered and that's not how they tag their clothes. She stated that she would not accept the return. I gave the dress back and kept my receipt. This is by far the worse customer service from staff, manager and district manager. María, Jody and David. Including two cashiers. Just friendly advise don't try on anything and try to return it and definitely will not ever be back to purchase anything in the future. All this boils down to is pure racism. As much negative I hear about Town East Mall for being "ghetto"...its nice to have anchor stores that deliver the quality merchandise without the "snooty attitude". That's Dillard's in Town East. Excellent selection of merchandise, very friendly staff. Sure they may not have the other "couture" stores in this mall...but who needs it when there is Dillard's. Expect friendly service, good prices and great selection. read more

First off, I avoid going to Town East Mall whenever possible. As I was walking from the parking lot into the store, I was constantly on the look out for someone who might try to steal my phone or jack my handbag. Sad but true. This mall has really gone down hill over the years and I would rather drive over to Firewheel Mall or Northpark if I need to go to a Dillards. Fortunately, my visit to this locale went off without incident. The young lady who assisted me at the perfume counter was very helpful and courteous. As for selection, if I'm looking for apparel I will go to Northpark as they have a more extensive selection and carry more designers but Town East Dillards is fine if you're needing cosmetics. read more

Your shoe dep employees need some seri customer service training. I was waiting to check out behind a few other customers for about 10 minutes because all of the employees were hiding in the back. Some of the other customers wandered around the department just hoping to find a salesperson, but no luck. Eventuall, 2 girls walked out of the back room and one of them started ringing up the people in front of me. I found a pair of clearance shoes that I loved, but I asked the salesperson to check to see if they had a half size larger. I had to ask her 3 times before she rolled her eyes and passive aggressively said that she's "not allowed to look" and she'll do it if I insist but I shouldn't expect her to find anything. I asked her to do a simple thing so I could look for the larger size myself, but she somehow decided that their inaccurate inventory was my problem and I should be happy to buy whatever I could find. I used to work at this exact location and I know that the salespeople are expected to make so many sales per hour. After that rude, condescending encounter I just decided to walk over to the Clinique salesperson who was more than happy to ring me up. Encounters like this are the reason brick and mortar stores are dying, but Dillards really doesn't seem to care. read more

I decided to treat myself to a Michael Kors bag and after doing my research, decided to purchase it from Dillard's at Town East Mall. I was there bright and early as the doors opened on Friday morning. I made my way to the Michael Kors handbag display. I decided on which bag that I wanted, was greeted by a salesperson who then went to the back to get me my bag. All in all, a stress free transaction. I would def go back to purchase more handbags and Ralph Lauren woman from this location. read more

I would recommend Dillards I had a problem with a present I bought for my mother and one of the girls was just extremely helpful provided great service, from looking through every pair of jeans to finding the right size to giving us an alternative option which worked just as great but she ended up finding the perfect size and we left very content! I had a very bad experience today with a very rude associate named Claudia or Claudina. She has brown curly hair parted in middle. First of all she has a very heavy accent, half of the time I couldn't understand what she was saying. I wanted to exchange my daughters school clothes that didn't fit right. Well today most of what I had bought was on sale. I asked if I can get the difference back once I find a bigger size. The associate was extemely rude. She rushed me and told me that I couldn't do a return or exchange. Never again will I go there. After telling me that she walked away. Dillard's needs to hire people that speak proper English and treat customers with respect. I will be shopping else where from now on. This was in the morning.
