This JCPenney is located at Town Center Mall and sits along the backside of the mall near the entrance along with other big clothes retailers such as Belk. We popped into this location on a Friday evening in search of formal wear (slacks, jacket) and arrived around 6:45 PM. We did not think anything of our arrival time, as the mall stays open until 9:00 PM...however five minutes into our shop and we hear that they are closing at 7:00 PM. We found it really bizarre and asked a staff member if it was a special closing for the night or their hours and all we got was "not special" and they walked off. Was the weirdest interaction...and was honestly rude. Given that we had things in our hands to try on and they were clearly in a rush to close, we simply shelved the clothes and hopped across the parking lot to Belk. I gave 2 stars for the brand and the fact that before leaving, we did find a few well priced items that would have been nice to purchase, but...oh well. I am usually a massive fan of JCPenney for my formal wear as they always have a good selection at decent prices, but next time I am in need, I will probably hit a few other spots first and have this particular location as a last resort in my search. read more

I've out grown Penny's now that I'm older but back in the days it was a good place to park your cash, look good without spending a fortune. They had and still have great sales associates that will help you with anything that you may need. A few months ago I went to the Penny's by Northpoint mall with a friend and her daughter who was going to a school dance. She needed a dress that was age appropriate. We were able to find one for $40. So now she's super into this store which is great because they have great clothes for teens that aren't revealing or low cuts. They're nice quality too. They hold up in the wash well and don't shrink or fade after a couple of washes. Plus they're easy on the budget. Went pants shopping with my daughter-in-law. Had limited time since she had to go to work and thank heavens for the angel of a sales associate, Ms. Roushan. She was gracious, knowledgeable, and efficient. Without her invaluable assistance and fashion insight I would probably still be there dawdling around! They have a lot of nice stuff but the lady at the register was so adamant about getting me to sign up for the rewards program. Felt like she wasn't going to be allowed to see her family again unless I signed up. She was kind to me at first but once I declined her offered to sign up for the rewards over and over she was just glaring at me for the rest of the checkout process read more

Location always has cute but limited options. Not overly stocked, especially in home section. Most often they're running a sale or coupons apply so you're able to get very good deals. Service has been stellar through my experiences. read more

Great store and lovely collections Always get what I need and they got lot of offers and coupons as well. Also they have great collections of different styles and more.. Price is not that cheap and yeah they have aisle where you can get cheap and good price as well. Always love to come here shopping and I get duly satisfied as well.. I will recommend to all. While it was pretty disappointing that there were no fitting rooms, they had a wide selection of clothing and swimsuits, and I was able to get some SUPER discounted stuff. I got a homecoming dress that was actually cute for $13 and a really cute bikini for $30. Too bad they are closing, I liked their stuff. read more

My sister and I were looking for good quality towels for her new Condo. We went to JC Penney and found perfect towels and great colors. Sales staff was fantastic and very helpful. Will be shopping there again soon. read more

I finally put my finger on why I dislike Sephora locations. There is one here in the J C Penney store. The Sephora sales ladies act like predators in their sales tactics. Every potential customer who wanders into their area is like fresh meat. And the sales ladies coordinate and clamp down on the potential prey like they are pitbullls with their teeth dug in deep. Of course this is the last thing you would expect at a low-price J C Penney store. The associates in the rest of the store can let us wander freely since there isn't a whole lot at stake. Absolutely the most friendly and helpful employees ever!!! Mrs Odell in ladies wear was just wonderful!!!! She was so sweet and as her manager was walking by- she called her over and said - "this young lady was just complimenting the store" - the manager gave me a big "high five" and said that she was so happy to have me visit the store! Just unreal how wonderful I felt as I left. AND- the sales were awesome. read more

What a royal pain in the ass they were to deal with through this transaction. The people were like zombies. Ultimately they would've had a lot more of my money if they understood customer service. I got my money back, but ultimately they weren't able to sell me a product I wanted. It's an elaborate story, but I wasn't happy with my experience. read more

A BETTER JC PENNEY FOR MEN! I just don't shop at JC Penney for my men because of a generally poor selection and poor quality. When I entered this store, I entered through the men's department and it was as if I had entered the twilight zone because I did not even recognize this store. The men's department is very generously sized and has great options, lots of different styles, collections and color was "a-poppin". This store could give me an opportunity to pause and really look at what they have to offer. I suspect that because of the sheer size and items, they have better collections and therefore better options. The department was very clean and organized with the clothing was nicely displayed. For those individuals who are starting to shop for Father's Day, this JC Penney is a great place to start! read more

We visited this store twice in one day, in search of lamps. After deciding what we wanted, we returned to the store to buy the lamps. And that's when it all went wonky. First, the lamps, a set of two, on display had three different sales prices. Cards were attached that claimed the price was $179, $159, and $119. Naturally, we wanted to get the lamps for the lowest price. Both the sales person and the floor supervisor scoffed at that and said the correct price was $179. But when they checked, there were no lamps "in the back" and they could not sell the floor models. Okay. We tried to get them to look on the jcp.com site and see if the lamps could be ordered. The sales person claimed she tried that, but the lamps were unavailable and could not be ordered online. Her advice was to check back with them every Wednesday when their truck comes and see if the lamps are on the truck. I think not...I went straight home, booted up my laptop, opened the jcp.com site and went straight to the lamps I saw in the store. Not only were they available for online order, but these particular lamps came in a set of THREE, something that neither the sales person nor the floor supervisor bothered to tell us. And not only could I order the lamps that very minute,to be delivered to my very house next week, the online price was a very delightful $119. Ha! I don't know what's going on in this store. I don't know what these two employees planned to do with the extra $60 that they planned to wangle out of me. I hope they were simply stupid. But I can tell you one thing--I will NEVER step foot in this store again. They have completely broken my trust. read more
