So this was my first experience at this location. It is larger than others in Atlanta. Seems to have most of the online stock in store. Clean. Big sale section which is sort like a bomb went off...stuff everywhere falling off of wracks and shelves. But I have to say the employees don't seem to know anything about their job or store or policies. While there I asked 3 questions and they didn't decide to answer to any of them (or they couldn't but also did bother to find an answer) I asked specific ally about a pair of pants they had on an mannequin and I was walked around the whole store, shuffled to 3 different employees and nope...couldn't find it. Also just was like I don't know what those are to even try to look them up had I asked. I did try a few items on and it's worth mentioning that there was no in the fitting rooms, I don't care about this hit from a loss prevention point it's not great, and they are all SO SO DARK. I have 0 issues with my site but these were cavelike. I ended up in the assessable room (I was the only person in the fitting room for the duration of my trying on) which made me a little uncomfortable but it was the inky one that had anything remotely considered to be close to normal lighting. I included a photo of me in the fitting so you can the lighting in the "brightest" room. There was also a shelf that wasn't actually attached the wall that almost fell on me. I caught it but had I not it could have actually hurt me or someone else. I told an employee about it and she just went "oh...I girl I'll let someone know" and walked away. This was an adult...Kind if wild. Altered state isn't really geared towards my age bracket (30s) that's fine but they maybe need to have someone working that can answer basic questions customers may have. Gage it an added star because they did have more floor space and seems to have more stock than other Atlanta locations.

As you shop the racks, you will also run across displays of kitschy home decor with humorous and inspirational spiritual quotes. I scored an adorable striped sweater off the sale rack and a stretchy bangle bracelet that I have already received several compliments on. As I was checking out, I noticed a display of Giving Keys, which clued me in to Altar'd State's philanthropic efforts. Super sweet store! I will definitely be back!

The day I went shopping, I made a few purchases, but even that soon led to disappointment. I bought dress pants. I left and went to the target in the same shopping center. There were the same pants for $20 less (not even on sale). The problem with Kohl's is they are always trying to get you to sign up for something to get discounts (and apparently prices that other retails offer without such requirements). On 25th January 2025 I purchased a coat as a gift for my mother. Unfortunately, the size I bought was too big for her. The sales associate at the store influenced me to purchase the coat despite it being the wrong size by offering a 10% discount, making the item final sale. Instead of assisting me in finding the correct size--either online or from another store--the associate prioritized pushing the sale. The following day 26th January 2025, I discovered the correct size was available on Michael Kors' official website. I returned to the store, hoping they would help me exchange the item or assist with ordering the correct size online. However, the store staff refused to help or facilitate an exchange, citing the final sale policy. This lack of customer service and refusal to accommodate reasonable requests has left me feeling misled and scammed by the store's practices. Whew! Something that I feel qualified to answer! I've been a plus-sized girl for my entire 42…read moreyears. As a young girl, I suffered through Sears' "Lemon Frog" department (the girl equivalent of the Toughskins Husky horror). I remember a time when you couldn't walk into a regular retail store and find clothing larger than a 14, or shoes larger than a 9. Luckily, that time has past. I would be hard-pressed to recommend any store more highly than I would recommend Lane Bryant. In my opinion, it's one of the finest stores for plus-sized women's clothing. I used to run store to store, outlet to outlet, and find a quality piece here or there, but once I discovered Lane Bryant, I was able to build a nice wardrobe without scouring the countryside. Years ago, I wised up and stopped buying custom intimate wear and began wearing Lane Bryant's brand, Cacique. It's much cheaper, much higher quality, and way prettier than the things I used to pay a fortune for and just tolerate. Plus, the Lane Bryant sales associates are trained to custom fit you. For free. Hard to beat that combination. Also, their jewelry and shoe selection is plus-sized (another rarity). I have a beautiful collection of bangles, bracelets, etc. that fit me. Their necklaces are just a smidgen longer than regular, so they hit just the right place. Even their socks and hosiery are made for "us". I have always been able to find casual wear and business attire all under one roof, which is a real pleasure. Big bonus: their sales are often, plentiful, and generous. The stores aren't in every mall, but there are enough of them around Atlanta to make it easy to shop with them. Online is a great option, too, as is their outlet store up near Dalton, GA. Even though I haven't shopped there in awhile (I had gastric bypass surgery, and I am slowly divesting myself of my much-loved Lane Bryant wardrobe), I will always love that store. Not just because they carried things in my size, but moreso because I always felt good shopping there.
