SHOPPING IN DOWNTOWN CANTON!…read more What a great little boutique! We arrive in downtown Canton with the intention of doing a little shopping and getting something to eat. Well apparently, we were going to be doing very little shopping because this was literally the only clothing store we saw! This little shop is perfectly located just a couple of doors down from the theater so we decided to drop in and see what they had to offer. The first thing you will notice as you enter the store is the wonderful smells emanating from the various scented items they have available: lotions, creams and candles. But wait, there is another smell layered among those beautiful scents and it is the smell of leather. Oh my! This is that leather that the little cobbler is making by hand in the back room. They have adorable sandals, boots, and leather bags of varying sizes in weathered and standard finishes. They are completely leather inside and out, unlike other options that offer a leather exterior with a vinyl lining. They reminded me of the types of accessories that would be used in a fragrance ad featuring long cotton maxi dresses, soft layers and a great pair of boots. I loved it! To complete the outfit, they also carried nice pieces of jewelry including leather options which are always a nice touch. My only problem was not having enough time to spend in the shop because we needed to eat dinner prior to attending the show. I found myself rushed and wanting to spend way more time here but was not able to do so. This is a great shop for men who have no idea what to purchase for their wives, sisters or girlfriends. It is staffed by women who can certainly steer you in the right direction. You can never go wrong with one of their oversized ponchos because women love them and they cover a "multitude of sins". They are the garment of the moment and a must have for every wardrobe. A great store with a great staff that is ready to serve you!

The other day, I was walking by and the shop owner was placing signs on the sidewalk that read: buy one get one. My favorite phrase. Of course.I had to stop in and check things out. I purchased a beautiful lounge robe for $90 but sadly returned it because I felt, in the end, it wasn't the right gift. I received store credit on a BYOP gift card. I can't recall the exact amount but it was around $75 because I did buy a little something when returning and that pulled from the credit. Fast forward.. I've tried two times now to use the remaining balance. The first time I was told the store associate hadn't been able to reach the owner while I was shopping but their system had crashed and she had no way of pulling up the amount or using the card. I left my contact info and assumed someone would reach out to discuss. That never happened. I completely forgot about it until yesterday when I was shopping in DT Woodstock and thought I would try again. The owner was contacted and I was told that there was absolutely no way to use the credit. No additional effort was made nor did the owner feel necessary to contact me to discuss. Basically, they had my money and she didn't care. As a result of their system crashing.. anyone that had a credit was out of luck! As a business owner, this is inexcusable to me. I certainly understand they can't take everyone's word for it but a simple phone call from the owner, an effort to discount a purchase or even offering a $25 store credit would have at least been a nice gesture considering it was the store owners problem and should not have been mine. In closing, your store doesn't have the substance of product to bring buyers back regularly so, for you to not make any effort to make things right has left a lasting impression that I want to be sure others know about. BUYER BEWARE: be sure what you purchase is what you want because if not you may never get your money back from this store.

Honestly, I had to read close down an employee to inquire about an item that didn't seem to be individually-priced and about a sale on certain pieces on a shelf- it was unclear which items were not included as part of the sale and what were not. After tracking down said employee, who didn't seem entirely sure about the answers and who appeared caught up in conversation with an acquaintance or friend (I don't mind them hanging out while one is working, but try to disengage from the conversation long enough to answer a question and wait on a customer, you know), I merely wasn't that interested in purchasing anything, anymore. I left without buying anything, but I'll give them another shot next time I'm in town. Like I said, it's a cute boutique, lots of boho designs, artisanal quality stuff, etc.
