Now, their website does say "Alterations While You Wait, with Advanced Appointments" however that would totally defeat the purpose of alterations while you wait. If you had time why would you schedule to come in days from now just to wait there while they work, when you could just drop them off now and come back in a couple days to pick up? So I am not sure if I am reading into their advertising too much but I cant figure any other reason they wouldn't have hemmed my pants. I gave them a full day! If you need Multiple days to perform the Hem, or Multiple days notice before you can Hem while the customer waits 3 feet away, I am pretty sure that isn't the "Alterations While You Wait" the public is looking for.

The store is staged as a two-level parlor aka boutique with mini departments of all things fur & then some. Although I'm not wearing my fur coats anymore (I did treat myself to a Camouflage & Fox beanie for my hopeful trip to NYC), York is definitely the place to shop all things jackets, coats, hats, scarves, gloves & more. Of course, in addition to offering cold storage, the cleaning & minor repairs keep them busy year-round. Alexander has such an inviting spirit that he gives you all sorts of items to try on. He's pretty good at determining what your style is. York Furs is a Buckhead beacon & highly recommended.

They sell purses, scarves and belts as well but I'm all about the jewelry. When it comes to cool jewelry stores, I have found Atlanta to be something of a vast desert but Etc East is definitely an oasis. I think the main reason I love them is because they have Cathy Waterman jewelry live and in person. They carry different styles so there is something for everyone. I've seen a few pieces sold there that are also in the Sundance catalog but it's definitely not all that same style. Although I am all about the pretty sparkly jewelry I was also excited to see a Tylie Malibu purse there. I just wish they would carry their wrist cuffs as well. The sales people are very nice and friendly and seem to love the stuff too. They're great about inviting you to play and try things on without a lot of pressure. Prices range from low enough for the occasional treat to ouch (but so worth the pain). If I could ask for anything more from them it would just be more. It's not a very big store!
