Wanting a specific pair of chestnut brown jeans, JC Penny's had the best price when I did an online search, so I placed an order for in store pick up to avoid shipping charges. When I entered the store, I wondered if they were still in business as there were hardly any people shopping. In an hour of wandering various departments in search of deals, I saw maybe 10 other shoppers. And only 2 fitting rooms open on the far ends of the store. But what I did find were a few really nice sweaters and several pairs of wide and straight leg jeans at really reasonable prices. I opted for a gorgeous teal, blue and plaid long, duster style cardigan with pockets. It's a Liz Claiborne, which I haven't purchased in years, but the colors, style and pattern was exceptional. On sale for $38 from $60, and a coupon for another 20% off bringing it to under $32.00, I couldn't pass on it. I'm so glad I didn't because it's absolutely stunning! Wish the cool weather would arrive so I can wear it! At the customer pick up counter, I went to retrieve the jeans I ordered online. It had been 4 hours since I placed the order, but I never received a message saying my order was ready. I was ready to leave, so went and inquired at the counter. Sure enough they had the jeans, but they are dealing with a transition to a new system so text messages weren't sent. Well, if the jeans had been there when I arrived, I never would have browsed the store to kill time, and wouldn't have found my new cardigan, so it all worked out. read more

Yesterday, I was shopping for a dress for my mom's 75th birthday and they had turned off their AC; it was very hot in the store especially their second floor. My mother is elderly and I have a difficult time breathing without proper air ventilation so I got sick within minutes. All customers that walked in from the mall to JcPenney immediately felt the drastic change in temperature. I am giving them grace and hope it was a mechanical mishap and not intentional. I know business is bad, but that made it worst because we couldn't shop under those circumstances. I hope they take care of that! read more

Absolute shit-show with corporate credit card!! I applied, thought I might do some online shopping. Stupid bank that handles it never sent me a card or bill. Then charged me for being late with a payment!!!!. I paid it and cancelled. Fuck your dumb shit store, worst customer service from a bank and people whom I couldn't understand on the phone! read more

I'm not certain I should be writing a review for this JC Penney because I have only gone in on Black Friday evening... HOWEVER it was still clean and well stocked. Go figure! It was busy as heck... but you see I actually placed an order online and just went in to pick it up! Bahaha magical unicorn hint!!! When you order online you pick up on the second floor in home goods. There's a register area with a sign just for jcp online orders. So essentially in black Friday I walked past all of the anxious angry at me shoppers to the front of the line and was immediately called up. Im telling you.... definitely the way to go. There is parking for the lower level where women's, juniors and make up e.t.c is and more parking around the other side for the second level where mens, kids and home goods are. Some pretty freaking awesome black Friday specials (like fleece shirts for $6.99 essentially a steal). After picking my items up I went and tried the items on right there in store and ended up buying more because of how much I liked them. Service was awesome. Store was clean. There is an elevator and escalators. The store also opens up to the mall. I will be back but I will order online first... yea!!!! read more

It's been awhile since we've been here. After they closed the one in our city, we did miss shopping here for the family. Still have great deals and a good selection. Brings back memories. Hope to see they stick around. read more

JCPenney - Department Stores Near Me - Happy Valley, Oregon

Customer service is great here. The last few times I've stopped in the staff have been super helpful. Mary Jane went out of her way to call the customer service line to reduce my late fee on my bill. She was patient and sweet. Understood what I needed and took care of my transaction quickly. I was in and out of there. They also have great clearance deals every now and then. Browse around and you'll be sure to find something. read more

I visited the store to purchase shorts and have never been discriminated and treated so bad. The cashier Diana refused to speak and say hello although I said it twice to her she ignored me. Trust me I'll never go back and it's obvious she needs retraining in customer service. Giving 1 star as 0 is not an option. read more

Very pushy at checkout trying to get us to signup for their credit card. Misleading shoe sale sign that were all over but in tiny letters, "on selected styles" with no way to know what those were or to check prices. Poor selection of women's wide shoes in the sizes we were looking for. This review got a 2nd star over 1 because a clerk in shoes actually offered assistance and we asked her to price check the shoes we were carrying. That's the only way we knew one was not the selected sale style. read more

This store is amazing - seriously amazing. They have some fantastic weekly deals in just about every department every time I go in. I have been to this store a few dozen times and have never had an issue other than when some patrons really could care less and leave the racks/shelves a mess instead of leaving things organized when they are done picking through them. I do see the staff jumping on these issues though, credit given to them for being on top of things. I was able to pickup some summer shorts for 50% off plus I had a 10% store coupon which got applied to my purchase. You cannot go wrong shopping at Penney's for clothing, shoes, kitchen, or bed and bath products. read more

I would like to thank Customer Service Agent Magne for being so helpful! It's so hard for my husband to find shoes in his size being a 14 and not only did he honor the 50% special they where having in the store he special ordered his size and had them shipped to the store free of charge! That's what I call customer service A+ !!! read more

JCPenney - And he even gave us a coupon!!!! - Department Stores Near Me - Happy Valley, Oregon

I am delightfully surprised to see a department store with big & tall clothing. Not that they have a huge selection, but its not too shabby. If you're a true 3X or 3XLT you might find some pieces a little snug (I do). If you're anything over a 3X, then back to Casual Male XL you go! I didn't see anything with the exception of one jacket that was labeled larger then 3XT / 3X. I was thinking about giving this review 4 stars, but one of the moronic dudes that work there really pushed my buttons. read more

Came To the store about 20 minutes before closing, I picked out some things but wanted to try them on before I purchased. I was told the fitting rooms were closed for the evening. So I went to the check out and gave the items back, and told them I didn't want to purchase without being able to try them. From there I was followed out of the store, and At the exit was met by a very large man, who said something about the cops have been notified. He followed me to my car and recorded my license plate. I was very uncomfortable, and very confused. Not sure what kind of behavior this constitutes. I am not a thief. But my only guess is because I didn't make a purchase they were under the impression I was shop lifting. The staff need to be more careful about judging there customers. I will not return to this store. read more

I purchased a Mattress Set, Once I paid JC Penney Customer Service ended. You would hope (or think) large purchases like this would ensure customer service. After waiting a week, I found out it would be another 3 weeks before the delivery company could deliver. Delivery company says I can pick up directly from the warehouse if JC Penney will allow it to be released to me. Seems Simple, NO. JC Penney will not authorize me to pick up the mattress set i purchased. I will never purchase from JC Penney again. read more

I took some maternity pictures here, but the photographer was from Vancouver wnd I loved it. I wanted to do family photoshoot, but they don't include therpay dogs in family portraits. That's fine, but the person that I spoke to 0ver the phone was rude. I live in Happy Valley and they are the closest than Vancouver mall. Vancouver mall accommodates therapy dog, but this place doesn't. How does that fall with ADA? Anyways I wouldn't come here anyway. They are not the best. Ask for Dana or managers to do your photoshoots at Vancouver JC Penny portraits. Customer service is everything read more

Do not go to JCPenney at Washington Square. On New Years Eve 2019 my mother fell and fractured her pelvis. The entry tile floor was wet and there were no signs to warning of a slippery floor. My mom had to go to the hospital and now has limited mobility. Before this incident she was spry, healthy, and very fit. We have tried on numerous occasions via phone, email and in person tried to get a response from the General Manager, Fred Brockman and we have been ignored. The store and Brockman should be ashamed of themselves. If this is how they treat customers it is no wonder they are having financial troubles. read more

For some reason, my sister thought it was a brilliant idea to take me here to buy a dress. I'm sorry, but have you seen the women's plus section? It's not a sight I'd wish anyone to see. I'm pretty sure they're stuck in the 1980s (or they just *really* want you to look old and frumpy), because all they have is like weird pleated pants with elastic waistbands. And weirdly shaped tees. And reindeer jumpers. Okay, maybe not the reindeer jumpers (just yet, that is; you do realize it's still August), but everything else...really? They had about one shoddy rack of dresses, most of which were thick cotton that isn't flowy and is tailored strange. High collars, gaudy patterns on the material, and of course they all came with the blazer that had shoulder pads. Eeeeeeeeeek!!!!!!!!!!! And Oh HELLS NAH. So why the two stars instead of one? Ah, shit. They had shoes on sale for 75% off. You can't say that's not a good deal.... read more

I'd always had the hardest time shopping for dress shirts. I've been to Ross, Marshalls, Macy's, Fred Meyers, and Sears, but their selection is very limited and don't always provide what I look for in a dress shirts. I'm very particular what I look for in a dress shirt (fitted to slim fitted). My dad informed me of JC Penny and I decided to check it out. Their selection is huge. Not only they provide regular, fitted, and slim fitted dress shirts, they have a good selection of different brands as well. Majority of the shirts are folded and pinned, but you could ask a customer rep to try it on. The prices are affordable too, which ranges from $10 - $20. If your kind of contemplating on keeping the cloths, JC Penny has a good return policy. Just make sure to keep the receipt. This JC Penny's is located in the Clackamas Mall on the East side near I-205. read more

I'd rather shop here than @ Macy's anytime, that's in person. But shopping online? That's another problem. I'll give them @ least 3 stars for previous online shopping, and have been satisfied. This time, they disappointed me. My story: I spend 2 hours last night shopping for a special event outfit I needed this weekend. I also found several items for Christmas giving. But, because I needed my item ASAP, I didn't want to have them send them to my house, if I can just go try them on, then buy them, that would be perfect. I called Customer Service this morning, the minute I woke up. She told me, all the items I wanted are in stock, and they will have it @ Clackamas. I called Clackamas the minute they opened up, spent 35 mins. with them, searching for the items, and going from one department to another, and ended up talking to the same lady who called me, "they didn't have the dress, but they have the top". I asked her if she could find other stores might have them. No, not even Vancouver! I need a backup, what's the use in getting a top, what if that didn't fit me, I need another to try before settling on just one, just because it's the right color? So, today, I bought nothing and I JUST saved $350. read more

This SALON! NEVER TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE. Not kid friendly no matter what they tell you. They were 45 minutes late for my son's appointment and visibly frustrated that my children were going to wait in the salon. They made me so uncomfortable we went for a walk around the store. The stylist we were scheduled with still wasn't available when we got back so they gave us another girl who we watched pout about having to do it. She didn't talk to my son or reassure him. She finished as fast as she could and immediately left for lunch. Once we got to the car I could see the mess she made of his bangs and had to take him back inside to get it fixed. The stylists at the counter said I would have to wait a half hour until our stylist came back from lunch. I told them that was unacceptable as we have already waited almost an hour on them and then they argued right in front of my kid over who had to cut his hair. We left. They weren't touching my kid with that attitude. NEVER TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE. Worst most immature service I have ever received in a salon. If I could give then zero stars I would. read more

This is a nice JC Penney store and was recently remodeled with individual "boutiques." (i.e. Liz Claiborne, ANA, JCP brand, etc.). There's also a Sephora inside this JC Penney and I've found the customer service at this Sephora to be excellent. I know that Penney's doesn't have the best reputation for cute clothes, but I've found some wonderful things here. The JCP brand of women's clothing is, for the most part, well constructed and things like tops or jackets have extra details, such as piping on the inside collar. I have to admit, some of my favorite jeans, tops (and the cutest jacket ever) came from this JC Penney. This store is well lit and modern, plus the home section upstairs is also set up in the boutique style. I much prefer this one to the Washington Square store. read more

This particular JCP has had it's ups and downs since opening, and yes, I remember the Town Center in the 80s. JCP caters solidly to the middle class with a few gems in their mix. We found great curtains for two rooms of our home at a very decent price a few years back. Today I found attractive stretch denim shorts, cotton capris and cropped cargo pants, 100% cotton solid color tees (not the thin, chintzy kind ala Old Navy) and a soft shell jacket (at 50% off) for my hubby. All that for under $100 and no, we didn't open a charge account. Pros: *Decent selection *Well lit store with good signage *Decent prices for retail when they're having a sale (which is pretty much every day). *Direct access from the parking lot so we don't have to walk through the mall. Cons: *Not one salesperson greeted me or asked if I needed assistance, including the young woman overseeing the fitting rooms. *Staff look unhappy and bored. *Better to go in person than to call; phone service is sorely lacking. One exception to my staff comments includes a few very helpful folks that work in the window coverings department so kudos to them. read more

Security was very rude. Interrogated my friends and I and banned us from all JcPennys across the US, without truly looking at footage. I have them 2 stars because they were pretty stealthy and came out of no where when we left the store. Will never shop here again because I can't. read more

J C Penney hair salon. My mother made an appointment for noon today and arrived early. After waiting thirty minutes past her appointment time, we left. This review is for the salon, specifically Lisa Haecherl: Lisa has been my stylist for the last four years. Through short, long, brown, and even blond, she has done a wonderful job. The blond came recently after I decided that I wanted to try it out. She did a great job of giving me what I wanted, but the novelty wore off quickly. Now my hair is a beautiful mocha brown with a rich copper hue, and I couldn't be happier. Lisa has also been my daughters' stylist. She always treated them with respect but would not hesitate to tell them when something they wanted was not necessarily a good idea. Early this summer she gave my 14-year old a major change cut; her hair was easily to the middle of her back but is now cropped adorably short, and suits her very well. I would recommend her to anyone, from a little touch up to a major change, whether color or cut! read more

I know that everyone has a store that they go to for their staples, and JCP is that store, for me. I like classic high waisted skirts and feminine tops. They have a great selection of other things too. I especially like this JCP as it's always immaculately clean and the staff is wonderful. Returns are easy and finding someone to ring you up is never an issue (at some department stores I feel like I have to wander around till I can find someone). This JCP also has a Sephora and this last time, with my purchase I got a free sample of perfume (my choice), which was great, since often I don't feel one spritz or so can determine if I like something. This way I can wear it all day and see how it lasts. Great store, great staff, and awesome prices...what's not to love! read more

I am being kind with a 2 star rating. This store is a highly disorganized hot mess.
