Absolutely Terrible Customer Service! I did a return and had two gift receipts. The girl accidentally returned it back to the card. I was returning the Christmas gift I did not want it to go back to the card that's why I had the gift receipts. The young girl apologized and said oh I screwed up which was fine.The guy manager at no time ask to help her or even seem to care that she was in a panic Or that there was a problem. The guy manager that was standing there is the problem totally rude no customer service no apology. When I ask him about the return saying I had a gift receipt he said that's how we do it. It goes right back to the card. What is the purpose of a gift receipt then? It says you get a gift card on the gift receipt. He was really rude and wanted to continue fighting with me saying that's how we do it?!! I tried to explain I had a gift receipt again but again he wanted to talk over me and say no that's how we do it. I guess I should have just returned with no receipt. I feel this manager needs to be educated in Customer Service. And learn his job. read more

JC Penneys SALON in the Southgate mall, is horrible. I had my hair cut there about 3 weeks ago, and it still a mess. HORRIBLE cut, service and the manager is very rude. I think I would go to Super cuts before ever returning to this salon! Get better stylist. And, the cost for this haircut -$45!! Ridiculous! read more

I'm deferring to my wife for some of this. For a small store they have an above average selection of clothing for the whole family. The shoe options are limited but accommodating. Not really the place to find special occasion dresses and the men's suit department is a fraction of what it used to be. But, did you know that J.C. Penney has a professional hair styling salon? It's right by the rear entrance and it's not strictly for women. I have had my hair cut by Rebecca several times and it always looks great. My routine is to grab a cup of coffee. Kick back and enjoy a thorough, relaxing, shampoo scalp massage and rinse. Segue into the stylist's chair where I can further relax as Mrs. E. handles current events and Rebecca wields the shears. It's remarkably soothing. So much so, I've fallen asleep in the chair. I've had long hair for so many years I don't know the going rate for a man's cut. What they charge seems reasonable to me. Call them, set an appointment and see for yourself. If you mention Steven E, Rebecca might be able to dig up a chocolate donut with those little sprinkles to go with that coffee! read more

I have to say one of nicest JcPenneys my mom and I have ever been in. Very clean and organized. While I was trying on clothes and my mom was looking around, employees were very attentive. We are going back tomorrow to show my stepdad. I honestly wish my JcPenneys in my area could take some helpful tips. read more

I have been going to this particular JCPenney since my daughter was well...a toddler...so well over (clear my throat) 20 years - WOW did I just date myself!! This is one of the original box stores in Carson City and yep it has out lasted just about everything here except the Raley's Grocery Store that is close by. I have always found what I wanted here from shoes, shoes, and more shoes - yep I have a shoe fetish (you will see plenty more yelp reviews to come on shoe stores to come and they are hidden all over my closet just ask my husband) to household items, work clothes, fun clothes, Levi's for the Hubby, trendy stuff for my Daughter, and unbelievable deals on 'GOLD' jewelry - another one of my things I like to hoard. They have added a small Sephora to the center of the store which I LOVE the one at the Summit!! The staff is friendly and helpful with a smaller selection of the bigger version up at the Summit - nice for the folks in Carson City that just want to pop in here instead of driving up to the Summit to grab a few things. I get INCREDIBLE coupon/discount DEALS with my credit card mailings but don't have to use my card - so that's a plus!! The sales associates are always helpful, friendly and the store is always well stocked and clean - if they don't have my size they will look it up in the computer, order it online and I can even get it for the sale price (if it is on sale) with free shipping directly to my house - NOW THAT'S A DEAL! Plus if I forget my coupon/discount deals at home I just ask the sales associate if they have one at the checkout or if they have a better one then mine and BOOM - I SAVE MORE $$$$$!!! read more

This review is for Sephora: I recently had the pleasure of having a very knowledgeable young lady named Maddie attend to me. After years of wearing different foundation & concealer from Mac which I still like, I was looking for a different look so I thought about Sephora because I know they carry different brands. When I walked in I was greeted right away & thinking I knew 100% what I wanted, I asked to try Nars. Maddie asked all the right questions & she didn't discourage me she pulled the product I inquired & then matched me to show me another option,which I'm 100% glad she did, I went with Huda foundation & concealer, I absolutely love the product & the top notch service I received. This gal is a gem. I hope that I encounter service like this my next visit in! read more

Twice as many baby boy clothes as baby girl clothes. Prices were super high for baby clothes. Store was clean and well organized.

Customer service at rock bottom. Went in grabbed 2 bras and after visiting the 3 registers, 15 min later, layer my stuff down and walked out. Retail wonders why sales are in the toilet. It is the lack of customer service. Forced to shop online. read more

During the holiday season only 2 checkers for the entire store. More than 10 people in line yet the checkers are still trying to sign you up for credit cards, mailing lists, etc. Makes each transaction take forever. At some point you would think you try to get through the line as fast as possible. Everything I picked up was made in China. Store was nice and clean though, well stocked. read more

Well in the spirit of full disclosure I have only been in this store maybe 4 times over the last 2 years and it has usually been during the holiday season. Unfortunately during each visit I have encountered the same situation of long lines at the registers when trying to pay, and never able to find any staff on the floor to guide me to what I was looking for so I wander around aimlessly circling the store until I stumble across it! Not sure if this is just a holiday event or a regular situation but 4 times is a trend! They only have a few registers spread throughout the store versus having them all up front like Kohl's, which does not appear efficient. Due to this have had to wait at least 10-15 minutes in line to pay which makes me usually try other stores 1st. read more

Sad days for Penney's.... I went in to purchase a suit, and they have no one working in Men's suits department....They must have called around 4 times to find someone who knew how to measure and size me....Store is run by a handful of cashiers, no one has anything but general knowledge of their products. Last suit I bought was 10 yrs ago, and the trained and skilled Mens Dept customer service rep was a PRO....now JCPenney's doesn't seem to care about the customers anymore.....about as much knowledge as a rep at Walmart. Don't bother having jcp send out your ring for sizing: paid $190 for "lifetime" fine jewelry service and got my ring back with a crack in the band. "We can send it back in for repair." No thanks, the integrity of the band has already been compromised so I decided to return the ring as it was only 2 months old. The jewelry manager refused to reimburse me for that fee, even though their contracted company ruined my ring. Am out the $190 that surely wasn't my fault. Will never make a purchase from jcp again. This is actually for the Sephora inside JCPenney. I live in Carson so it's a convenient Sephora location for me. Have never had any issues. However, my most recent visit will be my last and I will be making the trip to Reno. The employees were so rude when I asked about a favorite product that I've bought there before. The first employee and I couldn't find it. When I asked if maybe it had been discontinued, she basically told me, probably and didn't care to do any research to find an answer. She told me I could talk to the manager who was on a break and would be back very shortly (I just love lazy people who pass the buck). I patiently waited...and waited. Finally, I realized that there was someone new standing behind the counter. It was the manager, who basically had ignored me and made no attempt to come over and ask what I needed help with. So after walking back up to the counter, I had to press her for information. She reluctantly looked it up and said they didn't carry it anymore. Ok. Thanks. So I then ask her if she could point me in the right direction to something similar. She wanted nothing to do with helping me. When I question her about a product that I found, I asked if there was a tester. She said, oh it looks like there isn't one. Hmm, isn't it your job to open one so people can test it?? She was so incredibly rude. It seems as thought none of the super sweet and helpful ladies that used to work there don't anymore. JCPenney already has have a deficit of nice, helpful employees. It looks like their Sephora has followed suite. I refuse to step foot in there again. read more

They have some killer sales and promos but a little bit of false advertising when I got an email saying I could get X amount off and then at the store they said I hadda use my pennys credit card which I don't have. I WILL SAY that they manned up and honored the discount w/my cash. So cheers for that! Great employees and variety. read more

We walked around the store and found a few things. The five stars are for the man, wish I knew his name who checked us out. He was so excited about a new gadget they were using for credit cards and about new things that were coming in the store and up coming events! I went on black friday and it was full. The service is very very slow, we waited in line for like half an hour.

I went to exchange a pair of shoes. There was a single person in line ahead of me, and the older lady who was working the customer service counter was helping a customer. It took 20 minutes before I got to the counter. I figured, it's only the one lady, I'll cut her some slack. So I walk up to the counter to a very snoody look after watching this lady smile and be so kind to the other 2 customers she had helped before me. Ignoring it, I said that I just needed to exchange these for a bigger size, her response word for word, "go over there". No "How ya doin" or anything. So I ignore that, proceed to pick the right size, and bring them back to the snarling old woman. She took her time, again ignoring it for the fact that I know how some elders are with technology. She bags my shoes, hands them to me, and then just stands there. No thank you, no have a good day, not even a smile. I rarely go here, but decided because my brother does, I'd give it a try. Not again, now I just wait for them to close as all the other old places around have been doing. read more
