I waited about 2 hours to have 3 bags of clothes assessed which is WAY quicker than the Reno store.

The store features a variety of items from individual sellers who rent spaces. Shoppers can find a diverse selection of goods, including buttons, costume jewelry, household items, one off treasures, hats, as well as vintage clothing. The inventory is constantly changing, offering a new experience with every visit. I didn't know how much I would enjoy this store until I got sucked into the different things for about a half an hour. If I wasn't on a time crunch I would have stayed longer. I enjoyed the friendly greeting when I walked in the door. There were some great sales going on that she wanted to make sure I knew about. Things were moderately priced and you could find a really good deal.

At first we thought it was closed because all of the lights were off. But the main door was unlocked and we entered. There was 3 people sitting at the table in the middle of the store - they stared us down but didn't say a word. We wondered the entire store which was primarily books, movies/dvds/VHS & furniture, with a few odds and ends. I think my definition of "gift store" is different than theirs because I didn't see much that I would categorize in that department. The odor in this store was the usual thrift store aroma, with a splash of...something very unpleasant. We saw what looked like a music venue in the back with a few guys talking really loudly from that area. After wondering the store, we started to work our way to the front when one of the gentleman practically ran to follow us out. When we looked back at him, he pulled out his key and dangled it indicating he was locking the door behind us, still not saying a single word to us. Out of probably 5 people in that store, not a single one said anything to us. If they were closed, they should have locked the door behind them - it was Saturday late morning.... I would label this more as a used book/music/movie store. I definitely won't waste my time here again. Such a weird experience!

I was also here on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 to shop around. It is on Beverly Drive, right across the parking lot from the Carson City Senior Center, and in the same complex as Carson City Health & Human Services on East Long Street. There were many dignitaries here, such as Carson City Ward 2 Supervisor Brad Bonkowski, who spoke briefly, and Mayor Pro Tem and Supervisor Lori Bagwell. There was also someone from the Carson City Chamber of Commerce. They had a short ribbon cutting ceremony with gigantic scissors in front of their new sign. Then the first 100 people got a free hot dog, two cookies (oatmeal, chocolate chip, or vanilla chip), and a (warm) water. Donations to Meals on Wheels were optional. The woman volunteer at the end seemed kind of ornery to me, but oh well. The volunteer when I drove up was really nice, as was the employee there when I went in March. They also had a 50% off sale today in the thrift store on everything except books. As part of the new name, they also got new larger signs for the donation station and entrance. And they now reserve a parking spot for donations in front of the donation station. After I ate my hot dog, I went inside. It was very busy and they had two people manning the cash registers. They have different sections for different things, such as furniture, men's clothing, women's clothing, children's clothing, trinkets, boutique items, and electronics. My one complaint about this store it it is expensive for used items. $200 for a very small kitchen table for two, $100 for a sofa, $15 for a beat-up office chair, $10 for an old chartreuse file cabinet that looks like it is from the 70's, etc. Clothing is more reasonable, but still a little expensive. I do get that is for a good cause and they have overhead, but I still think it is a little expensive. I mean people are giving away sofas for free on craigslist. The store is always looking for volunteers, so please consider that. They also take Apple Pay, which is a little surprising for a thrift store. Parking is very easy, as there are plenty of space in front. I would give this store three stars due to the prices, but I will leave four since it is for a good cause.

Legally he is allowed to be everywhere including restaurants, my job, any given store etc and he threw my dog and I out. And I explained to the owner that that's discrimination and it's also violating my rights. The law is very clear about service animals in the state in Nevada. The sad thing is is that I was going to drop a couple hundred dollars here because I was doing Christmas shopping for someone and so they just lost my business and now I will spend that money at a different thrift store. Don't shop here and don't buy anything here you can't go treating customers that way. It says service vest on my animal he's a service dog. Zelda's is a very discriminatory thrift store and as far as what I could tell looking at prices everything was overpriced to begin with I mean come on it's used items which they probably get for free anyways through donations and private parties. Everybody in Carson City knows my dog every grocery store I go my job that I do for a living even all the other thrift stores and this clown yells at me in front of all his customers and tells me to get out of his store. Thanks but no thanks I will make sure I tell my friends not to go here so the owner is going to lose a lot of business. My money is good anywhere else so when you kick me out of the store it means that I'm not spending my money on your store and then these little thrift stores that are 10 ft wide wonder why they end up going out of business this is the reason right here! At least Scoobys would have never treated anybody that way but see Scoobys went out of business and this clown took over. I hope the owner realizes that you just broke the law and I'll see you in court I'm suing you here's the law below you better brush up on it! No, it is illegal to discriminate against a person with a service dog in public places, housing, employment, and transportation, as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) protects the rights of individuals with disabilities to be accompanied by their service animals. A business can only deny entry or ask for the animal to be removed under specific, limited circumstances, such as when the dog is out of control or not housebroken. What is considered discrimination? Denial of access: Being denied entry to a public place (like a restaurant, store, or hotel) because you have a service dog is considered discrimination, even if the establishment has a "no pets" policy. Unequal treatment: You cannot be isolated from other customers, treated less favorably, or charged extra fees for having a service animal. Discriminatory policies: Businesses and public entities must allow service animals in areas where the public is generally allowed, and their presence does not "fundamentally alter the nature of the goods, services, programs, or activities". Employment discrimination: Employers cannot deny a person the opportunity to work because they use a service animal.
