I've got to show love to this store. Now, JC Penney as a company may not be what it used to be. However, I have never been unable to find a good deal. This review is more about the staff, however. As I visited the store on Saturday, preoccupied by a mission to get some more clothes for work, I found myself trying some things on in the dressing room. I made my purchases and split. About 45 minutes later I realized I had left my nearly brand new Rayban Clubmaster sunglasses in the dressing room. I was certain that they were gone. When I arrived back at the store and asked the cashier, the young man explained that they had found some, but I needed to describe them. I appreciated the added security. I readily described them and he called another staff member on the phone that brought them to me. She said, "I knew you would come back because these are very nice!" Those glasses cost me over $200 and they knew it. They easily could have pocketed them. But they made the conscious decision not to do so. I cannot say enough for their integrity and honesty. read more

No problem with JC Penney store However the service at JC Penney Portrait Center is horrible. Had a photo session scheduled for our 2 yr old. There were 2 ladies working 4/14/19 and one of them (Laqesha or Laquanda) her name was something like that... she was rude, condescending and Unprofessional and JC Penny would do themselves a favor by getting rid of her. She doesnt know how to treat customers or how to talk to them and she's a poor representation For your company. If she doesn't like her job, maybe she should Find another one. Not mistreat customers! Had a 2nd portrait appointment 4/18/19 and (same rude employee) she refused to let us complete the session for being 10 mins late. However the appointment Time is 1 hr. Why not simply take less poses and still finish at the scheduled time. Guess that was too reasonable for the dumb employee to accommodate. Ended up leaving Arlington JC Penney and going to North East Mall JC Penney immediately after the 2nd horrible experience in Arlington and the NE Mall location was great. Completed the photos, the employee NE Mall JC Penney Portraits was kind, courteous and professional. Unlike The employee at Parks Mall JC Penney Portraits who was rude, condescending and unprofessional and She needs to be addressed on how she treats customers. read more

Here's some positive facts: this store is clean, mostly well stocked, and easy to get around. Here's some not so positive facts: it takes forever to check out, if you have a coupon things automatically get "complicated" with your transaction, if it's crowded the store will Look like a tornado just went through. Came in to use my rewards coupon for free $10 off whatever and it took longer to check out than it did to find what I was looking for in the right size, color, so on. To me with all the employees they have at the end of the night they should be all ringing up customers trying to get them out the door. I don't get it at all. read more

I honest to God shop here all the time. There's always sales, and there's always coupons online. Between Retail-Me-Not and actual paper coupons I got from previous visits, I always get extra discounts on top of sale prices. My only wish was that they didn't have to get your whole life story at the register, trying to get you signed up for a million things. The lines are always long and it's frustrating because you know they are taking forever just to get your phone number and your email. Their online pickup process also takes forever because customer service is usually only 2 people, and it's UPSTAIRS. The elevator in the very back of the store is hard to get to... I always have to use that because of my stroller. Other than these obvious setbacks, the prices are great and I always find what I need. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. I've been going to this location for exactly one year. My daughter has had multiple sessions and I've never had an issue with disrespectful staff members until today. The staff has never been the friendliest, but it's never bothered me until I encountered Tan. Tan was rude and obnoxious. We had an extreme accident in the mall while heading to our appt, so We ran as fast as possible to the portrait area. We arrived 5 mins late, and Tan very rudely says she could not take us because we were late and unprepared. While on the phone telling my mom that they would not take us, Tan was in the background laughing obnoxiously loud and yelling, "tell her the full story, tell her the reason why." She laughed for so long and so loudly that I couldn't hear my mom on the other line. When my mom arrived to diffuse the situation and explain the reason for our actions, Tan kept throwing her hands up in my face telling me to stop talking to her. While coming up with alternate solutions to take try and get these photos done, she lied and said there last appointment was at 5pm. However while we were leaving, a family walked up at 5:25, stating that they had a 5:15 appointment. There are many reviews about terrible customer service and now I see why. While this was going on, none of her peers even bothered to take over since clearly she can't handle her attitude. Tan was Very loud, rude and ghetto. Not sure how she's even employed. read more

This is a pretty decent JCP. I love the fact that people tend to turn their noses up at it. I swoop in and get all the deals. Since they've revamped it, JCP is not a bad place to shop. Im always able to find nice shirts, ties, and bowties for a great price. Today, I went in looking for some winter gear for my upcoming trip to NYC and found a really nice trapper hat and sweater and spent a total of $12.96. Went here on my lunch break to by a suit for an upcoming wedding. A yelper told me it had good prices. By far one of the most affordable JC I have ever been too, right on the money. I went in wanting a specific hair cut and hair color in mind. Well I don't even slightly resemble the picture I showed. The girl chopped and when I say chopped I MEAN chopped a huge chunk of my hair off all at once, much like an average non skilled person would do. The color is terrible. Now I'm going to wait to get it fixed by someone else. The salon was also not busy yet the employees were complaining about working while I was there- very unprofessional! If you're wanting to try it out because you're looking to find someone new don't bother wasting your time! Research other options. I will never go back here again. read more

Do NOT order custom window treatments from JCPenney. After spending approximately $3000, they delivered completely broken shades LATE. They ordered a second set and got the colors swapped around. One shade was only 17 inches long and was supposed to cover a full sized window. After calling through customer service and reaching the regional director, we were treated to the regional director YELLING at the customer saying there is no way JCPenney can compensate for their mistakes. They cannot deliver a product. Period. They also have no concept of customer service. After half a year, the issue is still not resolved. read more

They changed it to "delivery to home" and charged me $8.95 for the delivery and then would not refund the difference. They basically said "Tough".
