I had the most bizarre conversation with Jeff at JC Security, yesterday. I really feel like I had the conversation with both Jeff and Brad since Brad was clearly in the background, offering up his opinion on the matter. After having them cut and program a key for me last week, due to misplacing the original key and fob before a trip, I found the original key and fob this afternoon and discovered that the key no longer worked. I asked what they could do for me. Then I immediately found myself in the middle of a shouting match about how it was my fault for not asking if the original key would work after programming a new one, as well as, if I DID know, it wouldn't have made any difference, since I needed the key for the trip. I've never known a time when having less information would have been a greater benefit than ALL the information available but that seemed irrelevant to them. And just how am I supposed to know that programming one key will render another key useless, unless I'm told? I'm not the locksmith. As it turns out, I did/do have another key but what I did not have is a another key with a FOB, which is the whole reason I went to get a key cut in the first place. What I really needed was a Fob but since I was down to a single key I did not want to take the trip with the only working key and no fob so I found them. SO....the spare key I did have (which I assumed was the valet key) could have also been reprogrammed but since I was never told about any other keys becoming useless, I couldn't even have offered that one up to program at the same time. And I'm being loudly and rudely told that "IT WOULDN'T HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE ANY WAY!" To top it all off, Jeff accused me of demanding that they do the work for free....a point that NEVER came up in conversation. I was clearly disappointed that I was going to get stuck with another $50 bill (actually $100 since I also have the valet key to reprogram) that I had no idea would be coming but what I was checking in with him for was to see if there was any way they could help. No help was offered but I sure did get a tongue lashing. I've been on both sides of customer service for most of my life and I have got to say that I have never seen anything as amateurish as this in all those years. read more

I locked myself and my young children outside of our house about a week back. Thank goodness I had my phone! We called JC Security based on a high Angie's List Rating.
