Darcy showed up, in the middle of nowhere, with no cell service, on my front doorstep, on time and ready to go with her large makeup kit rolling right behind her. Darcy is very sweet, listens to you and her application of makeup is great. The only thing I would recommend is be aware of airbrush vs traditional makeup. I wasn't and my face started melting mid-day. I highly recommend Dary. Her prices are affordable so rest assured you have found a great make-up artist at a great price! This overall was a traumatic experience and unfortunately left me with a long lasting consequence…read more Shirnel told me we wouldn't go too dark bc we can always go darker but it's hard to go lighter. However she went dark purple and it turned out very uneven. On my top left side I have a big mark with a line extending through the middle of my lip. the color and outline is uneven. My bottom lip has a big ring around it and it is light on the inside. Shirnel assured me she could fix it. She did saline injections then without my knowing beforehand, she topped it with peach ink. This then resulted in large blisters filled with peach ink that was seeping out. I had to go to urgent care and get medication. From my current understanding, it isn't recommended for the saline to be used for ink removal on the lips and why she chose to top it with ink, I have no idea, but it was not a good choice. I contacted Shirnel and told her about my need to go to urgent care and she didn't ask if I needed any reimbursement for the visit or medication. I told her I was really unhappy with how my lips were looking and asked 2 times if I could make an appointment to speak with her in person and also wanted her to look at my lips and she straight up ghosted me. I understand mistakes happen but the thing that made me the most upset was how she choose to just ignore what she did to me. the result of this has left me so uncomfortable about how I look, spending lots of time covering it up as much as I can, and having to deal with people making comments to me about my lips. I chose to go to Shirnel bc she had good reviews. it was a horrible experience and I wish the mistake wasn't so permanent . I also wish she took responsibility for what she did to me instead of ignoring the problem at hand.

Empty promises and unreturned phone calls and emails. At this point I too am considering legal action. Update (I should have done this earlier): after several months, we finally received our photos. Since then, several other people have reached out to me to share that they have had similar experiences. The photos turned out excellent, but the post-event experience and lack of communication was dreadful.

Nina's also has very comfortable massage chairs while receiving pedicures. However as a repeat customer, I was disappointed to receive a manicure that didn't last an evening without beginning to peel and smudge. During my manicure, I felt the technician was rushing and handling my hand in a rough manner which made me feel uncomfortable during what I expected to be a relaxing experience. Then prior to leaving, I examined my manicure to realize a few of my nails were already smudged and returned inside the shop. The technician had already left and another technician fixed the nails that were smudged. Still to my disappointment, when I got home my nails were smudged and beginning to peel off. Feels like a waste of money because I want to remove the polish from this unsightly manicure and I've only had it for a few hours.

But I also wanted a more elevated look than my regular makeup application. I was also slightly out of practice and was feeling only 70% confident in my skills. Enter Meagan. From our very first session she was such a pro. She listened to understand my vision, provided great product recommendations, and showed me the proper placements for products. But even moreso, she explained the WHY behind the application. Having an understanding of why certain products are placed where they are and what they are trying to achieve has been so incredibly life changing when doing my makeup. Leading up to the event, she held me accountable to ensure I was practicing the look and then provided feedback when I shared photos with her. I felt 100% confident in doing my own makeup the morning of the elopement. Not only was I able to flawlessly execute the look I wanted on my wedding day, but I have been able to use those same lessons in my day to day application.
