Thought it was cool. While a tattoo of cartoon character looked OK on a teenager, it didn't on a 40 year old. Decided to get it removed. The doctor who undertook this monumental task, did the first session with me, and then decided he likes Tennessee better than Hawaii and one day just took all his lasers and left. And I was left with a half-removed tattoo, which looked even uglier than the original. Fast forward 5 years, and now I am a 45 year old who is ashamed to take his shirt off during yoga or on the beach. Thank goodness I ran into Dr Miyashiro at Hilo Laser Skincare. Dr Miyashiro was very informative, friendly and easy to talk to. After talking to him I have finally decided to go through with the removal of my ugly tattoo. Conveniently located in Hilo, Dr Miyashiro's Clinic occupies a modern, spacious building. The waiting area looks very clean and professional, with numerous staff helping with appointments. I had my temperature taken, and received a big sticker that identified me as a patient who has been checked. After filling up some paperwork, Lindsey, who is Dr Miyashiro's assistant took me to the laser treatment room. The room had a minimalistic decor, but it was equipped with the state of the art laser equipment. Dr. Miyashiro analyzed the tattoo and warned me that if might hurt a little bit. Turns out I barely even felt the procedure. It was virtually painless. He was super quick, the whole process took like 15 minutes. On the way out I was able to schedule my next treatment, after my skin heals. I will definitely see Dr Miyashiro again, and I highly recommend his clinic for anyone seeking a tattoo removal, skin rejuvenation, skin resurfacing or injections. I always get them done back home in LA, and of course, they always do a fantastic job. All my friends ask where I get them done and it lasts for so long, about 3-4 months!! I got here and the so-called receptionist isnt the nicest. Very unprofessional. I dont think she even knows what customer service is. She's not rude rude but shes rude because I felt it. The girl who did my lash perm, her name was Summer, if I remember correctly. I dont know is it because she does extensions more that shes not too expert on lash perm on she just doesnt know how to do it like a pro. My lashes literally look the same. Maybe VERY SLIGHTLY curled at the tip but its just my flat lashes with no curls. I was so shocked to see my lashes after she said she was done. Why? Because I didnt notice any change. When I got them done in LA, my lashes were like SUPER STRAIGHT CURLED UP that when I open my eyes, it would almost touch my eyebrow, literally. Well, my lashes are STICKY, GLUEY AND CLUMPED together. I dont know what the hell she used but it SHOULDNT be sticky like this. They usually end it with conditioner/oil and makes my lash look sort of 'wet' but definitely not sticky. When I told her it doesnt look permed at all, she said she left the perm agent for long enough that if she left it longer, my lashes would have fried. I'm laughing because she didnt even take an hour do to the whole lash perm. It usually takes 1.5 hours when I get it done. She obviously doesnt have any knowledge on lash perm I guess. I was so speechless how arrogant she was and I just left because I didnt want to argue. I should have left when I noticed how nonchalant the receptionist was. Wasted my money and time and got nothing back in return. I am going back to LA in 2 weeks for a week and Ill just get it done there. I am posting a pic with this review with the perm I got here compared to LA, so they can see what LASH PERM supposed to look alike. DONT COME HERE AND WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. The space was nice and quiet, and everyone was very friendly. Before starting, Sabrina asked me a few questions about any allergies to wax and whether there was anything I wanted to change about my brows. I really appreciated that she asked about my preferences instead of making assumptions. She was very kind, explained the step-by-step process, and took before-and-after pictures of my brows. She even showed me a photo after mapping them to make sure I was happy with the shape before proceeding. The process was fast yet thorough. I posted a photo of day one of my micro bladed brows. It's a very hard decision to trust your face to permanent makeup. But I've seen Kama's work several times and each time I've complimented a person's brows, they were done by Kama. She is truly skilled and talented. She made the process informative and pain free. I've chosen to have a more natural look and she had given me the brows that not only look like my own hair has grown back, but shaped so well. Her passion shines through in her work and her space. They made me choose the color I wanted on my toes &I assumed maybe it was extra charge for nails, but I feel like they should communicate with people more and let you know the additional fees.
