The only good thing was that my toe nails were done (although my cuticles were not cut‍) . But the service is bad and awkward. No type of making you feel welcomed. One of the guys here seems to be very controlling& creates a tense environment. I feel like they should play music or change their customer service. Or change their business to something they actually like I got charged almost $50 for a regular pedicure which said $35 on the list I didn't ask questions and just paid. They made me choose the color I wanted on my toes &I assumed maybe it was extra charge for nails, but I feel like they should communicate with people more and let you know the additional fees. First time coming here. Small shop with a few stations and a few pedicure chairs. I needed to fill my gel nails that I originally got in Honolulu. I've been to a couple places in Hilo and hands down this place is better than the other places I've gone to. I was the second customer in the door and they started getting busy. Not sure if it's because it's a weekend. I asked for a French ombré as that's what I originally had and asked to shorten my nails a bit. She did exactly as I asked and I'm loving my nails. Sorry to say but it looks better than it did when I got it done in Honolulu. Not mentioning the name of that salon as they're really good too, however, my nails look a little more natural now. I didn't get the name of my technician but she has short hair and sits at the first station behind the front desk. I'll definitely be coming back again!! Sidenote.. if you check out their website, there's a coupon you can download, you just need to provide your email and they'll email it to you automatically. Kings work is worth waiting for... sometimes there's a wait even when you schedule ahead, but the quality of his nail work is exactly what I seek. Paula does a fantastic job with my lashes and she's very gentle & attentive. Pedicures from Tonny are always a treat! It's a tiny salon but they work hard and work together. I've been going here to do my nails for over a year now and I only go to King or Jackie. And when I do a pedicure I specifically request either of them because I trust them! When booking with king, even when you have an appointment you can wait a bit longer than expected but everyone who goes to him knows this. And most people feel it's worth the wait! He tends to do more extravagant nails which I don't usually do so I decided to switch over to someone who I can make appointments with faster I go to Jackie now for my fills or polish changes, and she's great! I tried to give it some time before deciding to update my review, but sadly the experience that I had about two months ago made me change my review (especially since it was recent). I went in for a gel nail pedicure. First strange thing, aside from it being completely empty, was that the man who helped me buffed off the regular nail polish that I had on my nails instead of using nail polish remover to wipe it off. He buffed it down quite a bit with a dremel. When he was pushing back and cutting the cuticles he cut my skin and it started to bleed. He didn't say anything about it but went to grab some blue liquid and dropped it on without warning and it hurt quite a bit. Again he didn't say anything. Continued on by putting my feet back into the tub. Thankfully it didn't get infected. The cut did turn black and hurt for a few days since the blue liquid prevents it from naturally healing since it stops the bleeding immediately. I tried to look past all of that and when it came time to remove my gel polish for a change, it was the hardest to remove of anything I ever had on my nails. I buffed it and then soaked it in acetone and tried to lift it, then buffed and soaked longer and tried to scrape and then more buffing. Finally when I got the layer of polis off, my nails under the polish were so weak from his buffing/dremel that they ripped and peeled (ouch!) in some spots and were very flimsy feeling. Sadly NEVER going back. My nails have never been so damaged at any nail salon in my life. This experience made me feel like I probably should never go back to get my nails done by anyone. read more

1/4/2019 At this salon I screamed with pain and looked what the nailist is doing.n She was digging my skin and cutting skin and my toe was bleeding. She quickly dipped my foot in a tub and said don't worry it's okay. After while, bleeding stopped but that night I was keep waking up with pain. Next morning my toe was infected. Now yellow liquid is coming out. I hope it is not going to get worse. She also cut the corner parts of the nail that may lead to ingrown nails. She hates me or something? read more

Not sure of who my nail tech was but I think they came out okay. There definitely could of been more polished added to the top of my nails. See my photo. I took away a star because the nail tech took sooo long. 1 hour and 30 minutes to do gel polish is outrages in my opinion. Wasn't sure if she just wanted company because the salon was pretty empty. But overall she took her time and did a good job. One thing to note, on Sundays they close at 5pm not 6 like Yelp is showing. Happy Mani and Pedi!!! read more

WORST MANICURE EVER! I wish I could give ZERO stars. Literally the WORST manicure Ive ever gotten...EVER in my life. So sad because I was excited to find a local salon that offered gel extensions. I made an appointment online and even provided my credit card to save my appointment. They said they will charge $25 to cancel under 12 hours. Hard to find parking so I circled a couple of times. I brought in pictures of pink with silver opalescent glitter tips. Got there on time at 11:15 and waited for 45 minutes. I told myself it would be worth it to get gel extensions. Then the nail tech tried to give me acrylics. I said no, builder gel with forms. He repeated what I said so I thought he understood. But I stated it again twice during the manicure when it seemed like he was just painting my stubby little nails with gel polish. He barely filed my nails and did not clean my cuticles-I still have rough skill all over my fingers. He left the gel polish with sharp edges and instead of silver, he put some green opalescent rub on the polish but left it all over my skin. I told them I was disappointed and they said sorry. Thats it. They were fine with taking my money. Such an awful experience and it cost me $50! Am sorta grateful that they didnt do my extensions because this sloppy gross work, I can only imagine the horror! Seriously, DO NOT GO HERE! read more

I would give them a zero if I could! I went here to get my SNS replaced. I waited 30 minutes but I did have an appointment so I was fine with that- almost left and wished I would have! The young woman who did my nails used the drill to take off my old bail polish and it burned! She was thinning my nail beds! She did a horrible job- painted 5 fingers and then dipped them - not smooth and basically sloppy. 3 weeks later now at home and my regular tech advised me of the damage and recommended 3 months with nothing and using keratin and cuticle oil to grow it out. So the are not supposed to thin the pink part of you nail! So pissed! I knew I should have left when I had the chance. Do not go here- save your money! read more

Great Salon for Nails , Lashes and Pedicures!!!! This has been my go to spot for all of my spa needs and Hailey is my request for eyelashes and all of the ladies can pretty much take care of your pedicures and nails. I'm a gel nail person and this shop is very clean , sanitized with great customer service. I usually schedule an appointment in advance to prevent long wait time but they do accept walk-ins. The location is perfect next to great restaurants and local shops to shop for souvenirs! The parking is street parking but there is a bank across the street with parking or hopefully you find a spot out front on the street.. Shop has great music while you're being serviced ! I would love to write a nice review for this place. I have only been here once & I needed a nail place to do my fill for my WEDDING IN 2 DAYS! I called on a Thursday at 6:30PM when they close at 7PM and they took me in! The nail technician took her time and was excited that I was getting married on Saturday (in 2 days) and not irritated that she had a late customer. This place is always good at getting me in fast/last minute, and they always do a good job! I think it's a little over priced compared to other Hilo area nail salons (gel manicure and regular pedicure was $57), but the guy who does the fancy nail art seems to be really good (I always get plain gel manicure). I like their regular pedicure-- the massage chairs are great! I did ask the lady to make the water hotter for me than usual this time, and she did, which was awesome. My friend told me when she went that the tools didn't seem sterile, she didn't see them open a new package, which was concerning, but when I went in they opened a new package right in front of me so who knows. read more

They don't sanitize their tools, the cuticle equipment already has stuff on it. The lady worked on my nails seemed to be in such a rush(there was no customer waiting) and had such an attitude. Totally destroyed my nails by shaving it very thin in such a rush. She also forcefully pat my fingers down because they were in her way. I told her I liked to cut my nails short, she said oh I like it square and she proceed to trim th square. I felt weird about that at the time but didn't say much. When she started putting on nail polish, she did such an awful job, it was so uneven. I pointed out couple times asked her to fix it. When we went to pay, she added tax to the price(not sure if it's a Hilo thing, but all the other nail salons I've been to never added tax to the price). Got my nails done here a few months back after being referred from my sister in law. Went to see the guy King. What I wanted and what I got were 2 very different things, it looked like a 8 year old did my nails. When he applied the acrylic, it was literally like acid to skin, my nail beds were on fire and he found that funny. You can tell this shop uses cheap acrylic because that is not supposed to happen ever! Even me, frequently getting my nails done, was a first timer to experience this. He then sprayed Hydrogen Peroxide on my fingers and the burning subsided. I did not want to even finish afterwards but he insisted that I allow him to. It was not till I got home did I notice how caked on the acrylic was, the unevenness of the entire set and the crappy details of the nail design. After a week did it start growing out and made my fingers hurt. I removed all the acrylic at home and my nails are still healing. My nails are very brittle when they grow out and always end up breaking, I have dents in my finger beds. Seeing the pictures he posts on his Instagram account, I really thought I was in for a treat but my set did not even look close to these pictures he posts and the whole thing was a mess, felt very rushed also.
