Today was my first appointment with Kasea and we fixed a hair job another stylist did. I went into the appointment just thinking about going darker with a toner and for a trim. But she thoroughly explained the vision she had for my hair and made it happen. We went with a full highlight while smudging the roots to create a more cohesive blend, toner to take away the brass and a trim. The environment of the salon was calming and relaxing. I was a bit surprised by how much availability kasea had but I booked anyway. The good: Kasea is nice, professional, and made me feel comfortable. The bad: she double/triple books her clients so she was super rushed the entire time bouncing back and forth between me and another person. When she washed my hair, the water was cold because she wouldn't wait for it to heat up which was kind of a shock. When I'm paying $400 for a hair dye, I expect to be taken care of and it almost feel like a self-care experience but I could feel her anxious energy with rushing around. After, she blow dried my hair and offered a trim, and I said yes. She rushed through that as well and by the time I got Home, I realized the trim was sloppy and my ends had varying levels of length. All of these issues could have been solved by taking her time and not bouncing between clients. Also, my hair turned out a bit orange. I ended up flying to Florida for a wedding the following week and getting it fixed. I wouldn't go back to this place. She did an okay job, but If im paying $400, I want it done well.

It was on Valentine's Day 2026 and my other half wanted me to have some me time. When I got home I probably sounded ungrateful because the only positive thing I could say was I liked the color I picked. It's the 17th and literally every time I washed my hands with hot water or scratched my skin or nicked my nails I could smell the nail polish (this is days later) and this is not nominal! I also left a review on Google. Stay away from this place they don't care about cleanliness! Look around for yourself on the nail side, you won't see it on the hair side. The longer I sat in the massage chair the worse it got. My pedicure and manicure was horrible! Why did the tech change the shape of my nails when all I approved was a trim. My nails grow square and now I have round nails that don't match my feet or fingers. Why did the nail techs use the filing tool to remove previous nail polish instead of nail polish remover and why did they cut and trim my nails before soaking my hands or feet. I thought the purpose of the soak was to clean the client before using shared tools on them. Granted they opened a new pack of nail clippers and other metal tools but the electric filer and callus remover is clearly community. The place I go to in Oahu uses new mini kits every time and they let you take it home! In the past I got my hair cut here three times. Never did my nails. Three times by three different people. The best cut was by Jen. She washed cut and styled my hair and only charged a cut price. I tipped her well. The second person did not wash my hair but he did an excellent cut. The third person was supposed to be done by Jen but she double booked herself. The person washed my hair even though she didn't ask not did I, cut and styled my hair even though I didn't ask to be styled and then charged me for all services. I never returned after that. The third cut sucked. The second cut was great and sadly he left but I see why.

He's a talented, decisive professional who is creative and committed to honing his craft and to delivering exceptional service. His clients here in Hilo are so sad to see him go, but I for one will follow him to his next destination and will always try to book with him when I am fortunate enough to secure a spot in his appointment book. I have challenging hair that is the equivalent of three heads of thick ethnic hair. He has to WORK/sweat when he sees me, and yet he's happy to see me. Lots of layers, a V-cut in the back, and they kept my length! Other salons I've gone to will cut off two inches of hair after I specifically said to keep the length. Not this place, they actually listen to your wants as a customer and only cut off the dead ends unless you specify otherwise. They paid very close attention to detail and they really pay attention to what you want done. They also really care about your hair health and will give you advice or tips and tricks on achieving certain styles you like. Although this place is pretty new, you can tell they've been doing this for a while. They're very good at what they do and you get what you pay for. Beautiful, healthy, rejuvenated hair! Two lovely women run this place and they're just the sweetest! So easy to chat with, so humble and laid back, and very sincere. The shop itself is very cute, kept clean, well lit, and well ventilated with either AC or a nice breeze blowing through if the door is open. They have their own hair washing stations and waxing table as well. This is my new go-to salon and I don't plan on going anywhere else. Other places are so intimidating to walk into but this place really makes you feel like you're at home or visiting a friend or family. I left with a healthy feeling and beautiful looking hair transformation. From frizzy, overgrown, lifeless, sad hair to silky, fresh, beautiful, healthy hair!
