Many handyman don't invest in the proper tools, so the work is compromised or hacked. His truck is clean and organized (IMO, an indicator of a good handyman). I've been designing and fabricating custom window coverings for over 33 years. Custom window covering installation is a specialized trade, and there is not many professional window covering installers are around anymore and I was concerned I wouldn't find anyone to install. I showed Alex how I wanted the rods installed and he had no problem understanding the process. The day he was schedule to come he had a cold. He called me and asked if I still wanted him to come given that he had a cold. Since it was just before Christmas, I wanted the house finished and was willing to risk catching his cold. I really appreciated that he worked even though he felt terrible. Alex is always prompt and reliable. He will also pick up any materials that you need. He keeps the area he's working in clean and leaves the job clean.

I contracted with Nick to install new doors in my home. I put my deposit of $1,169. He ordered the…read moredoors, and when they arrived, they were the wrong size. It was unclear if he ordered the wrong size, or if the company who made the doors got the order wrong. He had to order new doors, but said they were backlogged a couple of months. When the time came, I followed up with him, and he simply said he hoped they would arrive soon. I gave it some more time and followed up again. I kept following up but was treated to radio silence for a full month before I finally gave up and asked for a refund of my deposit. He responded that deposits are non-refundable. So I'm out over a grand. This guy is not trustworthy. Lessons I learned from this, hopefully others can learn from my mistakes: 1) Never order supplies indirectly through the contractor, much less give them a deposit. If they ghost you, you are out the deposit. Instead, order from the supplier directly. They are much better established businesses, none of this fly by night stuff with these individual contractors who may or may not return your calls depending on their mood. And if the supplier rips you off, you can file a complaint with BBB. Which brings me to my second lesson. 2) Check BBB before doing business with a contractor. Nick does not have a listing with BBB, so I was unable to file a complaint against him. If they do not have a BBB listing, or if they have unresolved complaints against them, move on. It's not worth the headaches doing business with bad contractors.

As of this date, Mr. Morrow has not done the work or returned the funds despite regular reminders, emails, phone calls, messages, texts. The house has exposed underlayment and is open to the elements, causing further damage in several areas. We have been very patient and understanding, but Nick Morrow has lied and stolen our funds--not to mention the job we hired him for is not done, we're out of pocket and house has open areas for weather to leak and cause more problems. We are filing complaints with the Contractors Board, Consumer Affairs, and the BBB and we will take him to small claims court. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS, BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT PAYING THEM BEFORE THE JOB IS DONE.

Kyle did an incredible job remodeling our shower…read more We initially contacted a bath remodeler that advertises a lot, but were turned off at the initial cost ($9K, not including fixtures or even the shower door), wanting half up front and scheduled 90 days out. Nope, not gonna do it. We found out about Moore Than Locks through my wife's office building, where Kyle is the go-to for locks an general handyman type requirements. Checked out his website, saw that he truly did do Moore Than Locks and contacted him for a quote on the job. His job was to just tear out the existing shower, re-align the plumbing (the new shower is 4" wider so had to re-center the fixture and drain) and install the new, as we were able to purchased all the materials through home depot (took advantage of 24months same as cash...hey, why not use their money...right?!). Kyle came out, checked out what needed to be done and gave us a quote. We agreed, set a tentative date for install. He showed up on time, cleaned up after every work day and got the job done in 2 fewer days than expected. As it took less time, his final bill was less than quoted (not something most contractors would ever consider!). The shower came out way above our expectations and has been a joy to use. Kyle is professional, able, considerate and a great communicator. I look forward to using him again on future projects (there are always a few!!) and highly recommend him.

Both walked away saying they had no idea what was wrong, yet charged me for their services. Kyle shows up and, I kid you not, after 10 or 15 minutes, he tells me both fireplaces are up and running!!! I kid you not! Since he charges by the hour, my bill was quite a bit less than I was definitely ready to pay. As I walked with him to his van, I suggested that instead of charging by the hour, he charge by the job. Why? Because he's so 'fricken' good at what he does, he would help others but make more money vs charging by the hour. I told him he was too good. He appreciated my viewpoint, but told me he was more interested in helping clients at the lowest cost possible. All I could say was 'Wow!' Where did this guy come from? Fast forward 3 years and I had forgotten the combination to my home safe. I asked Kyle to come by and check it out. Since he's a licensed or certified locksmith, he was able to call the company who made my safe and immediately retrieve my combination!!! Damn! Not only is he amazing with safes, but in the time I've know him (about six years now), he's never walked away from a problem and not fixed it!!! The owner, Julio, worked with us on price (thank you for the military discount!) and after the scope of work and cost were agreed upon, he and Ty began work the same day and returned the next day to finish the jobs. They removed a TV bracket from a wall, removed a built-in desk, filled holes/sanded/ and painted three walls, checked something in the attic, and added new baseboard to the section of wall where the desk was removed. Overall, they did a good job, making sure the paint had clean lines and being respectful of our property (it was a bit challenging as we were still moving in and there were boxes and belongings strewn about). The only negatives were that Ty arrived about 45 minutes later than expected the second day and although they closed the door to the room that had to be sanded before painting, I wish they had thrown drop cloths over the items in the room as they were covered with dust when they finished and it took some time for me to clean it all. Even with that, we would hire them again if our regular handyman is unavailable - they're work was professional and quality-grade.

One of the jobs involved cutting vent holes in my crawlspace, which seemed outside his usual scope, so I asked if he could also quote a few additional projects I needed help with. After that, I followed up multiple times--six attempts in total--simply asking if he was still interested or either way if you could let me know. I never received a response. All I was asking for is a little common courtesy after paying him. Being ignored after payment and led to believe work would move forward is extremely unprofessional. I would strongly recommend finding someone else.
