Crawfish from JBon, boiled by me!
    Gaby L.

This review is for the live crawfish only - we have not had the boiled crawfish here but will come back and get that at some point. The live crawfish was on point!! So fresh (I got splashed hard with crawfish bathwater cuz those guys were very active lol) and a great size given it was the first week of March. At $3/lb to us that is too good to be true!

This is how I ended on a Friday night...

Always great quality of crawfish! I place my order in advance to ensure that I get my "fix" before he sells out. Definitely worth it!

Best crawfish around. I drive almost 30 minutes to get them. Never let me down. Always on point.

Crawfish are on point just like Louisiana. JBon is a must try and the prices are good too.

Living 4 hours away from this Filipino supermarket makes me shed a tear a little. I was in Houston…read morefor the weekend and I asked my friend who was originally from Houston where a good Filipino spot would be to eat. He immediately said "Seafood City! It has everything!" So we went and it indeed had everything. The longest line was for Grill City. In all honesty, I feel like Grill City is a bit overhyped. The kare kare didn't taste like my father-in-law's. He makes the best kare kare. But you can't beat home cooking. Too bad my FIL is in CA. The liempo was good, but how can you really mess up grilled pork belly? However, I did like Sizzle. Their bangus sisig on a grilled platter was so delicious! I was jealous of my husband's pick. I also really loved the items at Valerio. Reminds me of Panorama City in CA. Everything here was light and bright and it smelled clean. Would I come back? Only if I'm in town. Next time I'll bring a big cooler.

The Pancit and fried pork belly were my favorites, and I really enjoyed the suka for dipping. They give you plenty of rice, perhaps too much lol After eating, I walked around the store and was impressed by the selection of Asian groceries, fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, and just about everything you might need, with a strong focus on Filipino brands. There's also a bakery and dessert section with halo-halo (always tempting), plus another vendor selling soups. The food court has a good amount of seating, though it can definitely get busy depending on the day. Overall, a great place to check out if you're looking for something you don't normally see. Glad to have this as part of the local Asian grocery scene alongside places like H Mart, 99 Ranch, and HK Market..

Service was good and quick serviced from steam tables. Employees friendly but quiet. Casual dining but a bit loud. The restaurant was clean. Lots of parking. My partner had the brisket sandwich with potato salad and a small helping of pickles and pickled red onions and I had the pulled pork tacos. My partner said the brisket sandwich was okay, but we both agreed that the potato salad was fantastic! The potato salad was way better than the one at Pappas Barbecue. The taste of the pulled pork tacos was great, but it was honestly too wet and made the flour tortillas too soggy and there was way too much coleslaw on top. I feel like if Killen's is going to serve pulled pork tacos there needs to be three things done. 1. Serve the tacos with an option of corn tortillas because I feel corn tortillas would've worked better to give a great contrast/pairing with the sweetness of the pulled pork and sauce. 2. Serve the corn/flour tortillas on the side so that they don't get soggy and wet. 3. There are some things that just don't belong on a taco of any kind and that's coleslaw. My partner and I also tasted the banana pudding and to say it was divine is an understatement. What I really like about this pudding was that you could taste real bananas in this pudding and it had been mixed well all together. Our total was $80 after tipping, which is a little pricey for some of the items, but honestly I would definitely come back to Killen's Barbecue when I was in the mood for barbecue.
