Private home landscaping (front, sides and back). Raised sprinkler box. Installed drip irrigation system. Work completed in June 2021. Landscaper Thom was extremely easy to talk to and very responsive. Explained how their process worked. Very patient with HOA and helped produce documents for their approval. Introduced site supervisor who was accessible every day and addressed any concerns we had quickly. Coordinated with deck company. Thom has a hard working team that measures and constantly double checks their work. We now have the prettiest yard in the neighborhood. All the landscaping is doing well. What a relief and truly a Godsend when I found JBK Landscape. I moved back home to the Denver area after being gone for many years, living in Dallas. I purchased a mid-century modern home that needed to be renovated including the yard that had been left unattended for several (at least 4) years. I researched and interviewed several companies in the Denver area about what they could do and no other company was as thorough and nice to deal with as JBK. I really had nice landscaping in Dallas and wanted to recreate what I had there here. Alas, the temperatures and climate here do not readily let me have my Azalias and Crepe Myrtle trees. Fortunately JBK walked me through the process of which plants were hardy (and beautiful) and they designed an overall plan for the landscaping that included a look that fit the mid-century modern feel of the house. New sod, remove some overgrown trees, design an extended patio and design beautiful flower beds all around the house both front and back. JBK is maybe one of the best companies that I have worked with in any fashion. We started by hiring Thom Whitney to design our yard, and after seeing his plans and getting a quote, we went with the company to complete the the job in our yard. The communication throughout the whole process was fast and detailed. The crew that did our yard worked incredibly fast but also did incredible work, our yard looks amazing. On top of being a great landscaping company, they were all great people. We had to put our dog down during the time that they were doing work in our yard, and Thom, the designer and project manager gave us a condolences card. It's amazing how little things like that can really help during a tough time. I would recommend JBK for any and all landscaping jobs that you have. Over the last 10 years, I have worked with 3 landscape companies, and personally interviewed many others. I look for a company's understanding of landscape & plant work to make recommendation, attention to detail, thoroughness, and communication. I am willing to pay a little more to get better service. Hands down, JBK has been the best I have dealt with. I have waited 5 weeks after the project was completed to write this review so that I could get past the "Oh wow" period to give a better objective review of the work done. First off, the project lead on this was Thom Whitney. When I contacted JBK, I spoke to Thom and gave him my basic plans of what I was looking for. The cost for the estimate was $250. While this may unnerve some, it was well worth the money, and frankly, should be expected. How many estimates has a landscape company done, and the customer decides on someone else or chooses not to have the work done. This is obviously a cost to a company (landscape, or any other company). You may not agree for charging for the estimate, but this makes all the sense in the world to me. Also, what I got for the $250 made up for it. (see below) The project itself, in short, was fixing the sprinkler system in my backyard, and the sod, from the prior landscape company. Secondly, a complete redo of the landscape (which included sod, sprinkler system, retaining wall, plants, etc.) in the front. Lastly, a tree to the left of the driveway, 2 new trees in the back and some smaller plants. When Thom had finished putting everything together, he came to my home with a 24" x 36" inkjet layout of the project. It showed a birds-eye view of my property and the work that was going to be done. It detailed all plant work, the names along with pictures. For trees it showed pictures of what the tree would look like in all four seasons. I have never seen such a thorough presentation and attention to detail in any landscape project plan. Doing this ensures that the client's expectations matched the work that would be done. Very, very happy with this. Additionally, Thom also explained in detail what the prior landscape company had done wrong in the installation of my sprinkler system in the back, along with the sod. I double checked what he said on a couple of places in the Internet, and what I read confirmed what he said. I appreciated the explanation. So, I decided to go with JBK. Prior to the landscape work starting, I had my front concrete porch and steps replaced with new concrete steps and porch (colored, stamped, sealed). This work was done by Reyes Concrete (they did an incredible job, for less than everybody else). After this, the landscape work started. Jose was the lead on my landscape project. He and his crew did a fantastic job. I appreciated his attention to detail and him answering all my questions. Now, 5 weeks after the completion of the project, I couldn't be happier. Also, after having lived with the work they did for the last 5 weeks, there were things that they did that I never thought about, or didn't anticipate. First, they regraded the back yard, which looks much better now. Also, they used a roller over the sod 2 weeks after they installed it, to help flatten out the yard and make it even. They also adjusted the sprinkler heads (Hunter heads) so that the coverage is better. In the front, they regraded the front yard, covering two exposed roots (which I thought I was going to have to live with) with soil, and then with sod. Also, they regraded the front of the yard as it touches the sidewalk. Prior to this, there was 1-2" of ground/sod that was above the sidewalk. It made edging the front yard a pain. A week after the project was done, as I was pulling up to my house, I noticed that they had regraded it and it is flush with the sidewalk and looks 100% better. Nice job guys. Also, after the project was finished, Thom was kind enough to email me the PSI with which to blow out the sprinklers (including the drip line), and sent me links to every single plant type that they installed so that I would know how to care for them. That, folks, is attention to detail. Between the concrete work and the landscaping, I have had at least 2 dozen people stop by and compliment me on the work that was done. One person even said that in made the street appeal much better, and that it would increase the value of my home (which is correct). Yes, they cost a little more, but if I would have used them in the beginning, I would have saved myself a ton of money, time and heartache because they would have done it right the first time. If you have read this review to the end, and if you have a project to do, stop shopping around and call these guys. One additional note: I purchased a sprinkler controller called Irrigation Caddy. This thing is a dream. It has countless options for scheduling your system, and there is an Apple (iOS) and Android apps for your phone (I have the Apple one) and love it. read more

We recently moved to Colorado from California and bought a new home on a hill with no landscaping in the backyard. It was important to us to find a landscaping contractor who knew how to deal with drainage on our site. We also have been avid gardeners for many years and favor native plants, but we had no idea what plant material thrives here. We made appointments with several landscapers, but agreed that JBK Landscape, LLC appeared to be the one company who could give us what we were looking for. From the first, Thom at JBK Landscape (our Landscape Architect) was wonderful. He walked the site with us checking the grade changes, asking questions, listening to our "must haves" and "it would be nices" and making suggestions. When he came back to us with a design, it was clear he had incorporated everything we discussed. He took all the elements and wove them into a cohesive and striking design. Their crews were booked at the time, so we had to wait a while before work began. But when it started we found that Thom was here frequently overseeing the work and helping as needed. Members of the management team came out several times to see how the project was coming along. It seemed that every person who worked on our project was polite, considerate and hard working. Now the work is finished and the bills paid, and still if we have any question or concern, Thom responds promptly and sees that the issue is addressed. Our back yard is not only very attractive, but it is very functional. We have a bocce court, an herb garden and a vegetable garden woven into a beautiful landscape. We are very happy with JBK Landscape and would recommend them to anyone. read more
