In 2022 Lighthouse sales was the most upfront of the companies we contacted. The location of our electrical panels on opposite sides of the house and the Austin Fire Dept rules (sadly they don't recognize that Li ion iron phosphate batteries (Enphase...) are safe indoors unlike Li ion NMC (Tesla...) which are prone to thermal runaway fires) made an installation that would meet our goals and Austin Fire rules difficult. A year later in 2023, Corey at lighthouse called us back and informed us that the new Enphase products allowed a reliable solution for us that fit with AFDs rules. This time we limited our bids to Enphase solutions. Once again Corey was the most professional of the sales people we delt with. Lighthouse's bid was competitive and we were given a substantial completion estimate of 6 to 8 weeks. I found our project manager Dale to be very responsive and the installation crew to be professional and on time. Our system was complete, producing power, and connected to PEC, exactly 8 weeks from the day our contract was signed. Kudos to Lighthouse and PEC for getting the whole job done in less time than I've heard just the utility permission to connect taking after the installation was completed. In the month since our system was commissioned we have had sunny and cloudy days, weather alerts, and even a brief grid outage. Our system has performed just as we were lead to expect. In an industry notorious for "used car sales" behavior. I have no hesitation recommending Lighthouse as professional, and reliable with fair pricing.

Another company tried to charge me six times what Lighthouse quoted me for the same service. Thank you Lighthouse for being a honest company with integrity when everyone else is trying to scam the customer.

Spencer Sobolik, my account manager, was very knowledgeable, responsive, and accommodating. He took the time to explain everything clearly, and the entire process went exactly as he described from beginning to end. The installation crew also did an excellent job. I have a new metal roof and was particularly concerned about avoiding scratches or damage, as well as making sure the conduits were routed the way I wanted. The lead installer was very patient, understanding, and accommodating of my requests. The panels are now installed, everything is working as expected, and I'm very happy with the result. Overall, a great experience from start to finish. Job well done!

Freedom Power team --…read more THANK YOU! Our system is the best advertisement you -- and Tesla -- could ask for. Our propane-generator neighbors are genuinely envious. There is no comparison. STORM TEST. Tesla installed our original Powerwall last March and Freedom Power added the extension battery this week -- two batteries now. Within hours of finishing, an electrical storm subjected the neighborhood to several hours of brownouts and blackouts. A few grow-lights flickered briefly. None of the clocks needed resetting. No noticeable latency -- Wi-Fi and everything else just stayed up. Except for the lightning and thunderclaps, we hardly noticed the storm. Rate math (FPL RTR-1 Time-of-Use). On-peak grid power runs about 29¢/kWh. Off-peak is about 6-8¢/kWh, and off-peak includes a real credit, not just a smaller charge. PRE-EXTENSION PACK. On our latest bill (1,671 kWh): only 61 kWh on-peak (3.7%) and 1,610 off-peak. The TOU structure saved us roughly $67 (July) versus the same usage with no off-peak credit. Every peak kWh we avoid is worth about 21¢ against off-peak. YESTERDAY'S LOAD TEST. Stove, hairdryer, showers, Instant Pot, TVs, computers, and air conditioning at 77°F -- and we still had 31% battery left at 9 PM, the end of the summer peak window. Under the single Powerwall we often scraped the last two hours and leaked expensive peak kWh. With the second battery, we held the whole peak on reserve with room to spare. When Elon offers vehicle-to-home (V2H) power-sharing in something nicer than the Cybertruck (wife hates the look), we'll add that to the backup stack. Solar roof tiles still feel like overkill for us -- but you've earned enough trust that we might change our minds. I already have one referral in the tunnel. I'll let you know when it lands. Our thanks to Joshua Leathers and the entire team at Freedom Solar Power for their performance and professionalism. God bless, Clark & Jeanne Vero Beach, FL Personable and professional - We cannot recommend him more highly.

I recommend SolarTek to everybody. I spent 2 months gathering 15 estimates from companies listed on…read morethe Austin Energy website. I researched each company checking BBB, yelp, and other reviews. I was searching for the best deal with great references, good reviews, and longest warranties. SolarTek was my final decision with great references and the best price. Even better was the lack of pressure selling that I got from some companies that emailed or called me frequently as I was continuing to gather estimates. Jesse with SolarTek created my estimates for the various options returned my calls quickly, answered all my questions, and didn't call me unless I called him while I took time to make my decision. When Jesse went to open the permit, he found an outstanding windows permit. The old permit had to be resolved before he could open a permit to start work on my solar panels. It took me multiple months working with Window World who installed windows for me 5 years earlier but the permit was never completed. Jesse was very patient as I worked through my issues. Once everything was straightened, they got everything done quickly, cleanly, and completely. Jesse worked through a delay with the city after passing final inspection; the city did not update the schedule so it took longer than normal for my meters to be installed. SolarTek and Jesse are great!

I'm not a low maintenance customer, and Jameson (our account manager) was there for me every step of the way. The install looks great and is producing at the levels I was told to expect. We started noticing our lights flickering and dimming, which progressively got worse over time. We finally hired Mr. Electric to investigate, and the technician was stunned by what he found: Longhorn Solar failed to ground the system properly. The electrician explicitly told us he was amazed our house hadn't burned down and that someone didn't get hurt! Because the setup posed such a massive, immediate safety hazard, the city was called and shut off our power on the spot. We had to pay for emergency repairs and wait through a stressful city re-inspection before the power could legally be turned back on. As someone who works from home, being left completely without power was an enormous hardship and disrupted my livelihood. Longhorn Solar's sloppy, incompetent work put my family's home, safety, and jobs on the line. Do not trust this company with your electrical system.
