The first time, we called them because our Samsung washing machine was leaking. They found the problem and thought they'd fixed it but it still kept happening. So they came back for no additional fee and fixed another part that eventually fixed the problem. They charged 150$ for the diagnostic fee. The second time, we called them because our kitchen aid dishwasher was not working. They charged 150$ for the diagnostic fee again and said the motherboard was fried after a power surge, and that the part was unavailable for months. We called kitchen aid and had one of their contracted technicians come few weeks later. They said that something was wrong with the motor pump. They said both parts were available, and they'd have the motor pump fixed in a week's time. Only thing was we had to pay for their labor again and for the part time. So totally, we ended up spending 600$ and could've bought a new machine itself. Overall, they respond quickly and send someone out fairly soon. Sometimes they're helpful, other times not.

Most either weren't familiar with my boiler or couldn't schedule a service call for days. When I called Rob, the owner of R. E. Coogan Heating Inc., he explained that they were busy but promised to stop by that evening to see what he could do. Rob arrived around 7 PM and spent over an hour troubleshooting the problem. Although he couldn't get the boiler running that night, he assured me he would contact the manufacturer the next day and continue looking for a solution. True to his word, he called me the following day with recommendations from the manufacturer and returned that evening to try them. It was clear that he was doing everything possible to repair the boiler and save us the expense of a replacement. Unfortunately, the boiler could not be repaired because the required parts were no longer available from the manufacturer. After exhausting every reasonable option to restore it, Rob helped us move forward with a replacement as quickly as possible. After four days without hot water, I expected we would have to wait at least another week for a new installation. Rob initially estimated that the work could begin Friday and be completed by Monday. However, he called on Wednesday to let me know he had rearranged his schedule and hoped to start earlier. At 3 PM on Thursday, Rob arrived with Henry and Nick to begin removing the old boiler. He then brought in additional crew members the next day and worked hard to complete the installation as quickly as possible. As promised, our new boiler was installed and our hot water was restored by Friday evening. What impressed me most was Rob's commitment to helping us. He went out of his way to accommodate our family, worked tirelessly to find the most cost-effective solution, and followed through on every promise he made. Henry, Nick, and the rest of the team were professional, courteous, and respectful of our home, leaving everything clean when the job was finished. It is rare to find a company that combines expertise, integrity, and genuine care for its customers the way R. E. Coogan Heating Inc. does. Chris came out to my house on March 6th to repair what appeared to be a clogged drain on my refrigerator, which was causing water to leak out onto the kitchen floor. When he and his assistant arrived, it quickly became apparent that I understood how to access the drain better than them thanks to a video a woman had posted online, showing a similar issue with a refrigerator much like mine. After some work, they felt the problem was most likely fixed and charged me just the standard diagnostic fee. He told me that if it leaked again to call him, and he would look into replacing the drain pan. During this visit, he for some reason thought I had told him that I had found this refrigerator on the side of the road. I made it very clear that this was both absurd and incorrect. This refrigerator was purchased new from Lowe's, who delivered and installed it. Ten days after his service call, there was water on the kitchen floor again. I called and left a message as well as sending a text. After not receiving a response, I continued to call and text for over a month. I then discovered a large amount of water had leaked into my basement and damaged items stored there. I contacted him again with this new information. When this still didn't elicit a response, I contacted another appliance repair company. This new company came out and found that the issue had never been the drain but rather a leaking feed line for the water dispenser and ice maker. They were able to quickly fix this and put an end to further water damage. I left one more message for Chris informing him of the result and advising that he respond ASAP or I would leave this review and consider legal action. THIS time he texted back almost immediately with the message; "Company closed and I moved to Florida bud. Glad you got it sorted out. Have a nice day". After receiving this message, a call was made from a number unknown to him regarding a quote for work and was responded to right away. Obviously he is neither out of business nor living in Florida. This proved that he not only has zero concern about responding to paying customers with ongoing issues, but also has no qualms about lying to avoid taking responsibility. Don't be fooled by all of this company's 5 Star reviews. There are far better options out there.
