Upon checking in, I was told by a viscerally nasty older woman (severe gray haircut) that my membership expired Dec 31st. It's February 9th. Ok, I'll make a call and handle this. But then this vicious entity refuses to give me my Silver & Fit ID Number because it was no longer valid. She berated me for having picked up a slip of paper off the counter to jot the number down. The number she refused to give me " If you had wanted a piece of scratch paper, I would have given you one. If you had asked! That's an enrollment card'!!" I left a message for a membership director to give me a call. This evening at 8:30, Tanya calls, and attempts to apologize for the front desk clerk. Tanya 'doesn't know' who was working the front desk today. Tanya does provide the expired ID number, which I can use as reference with my health insurance. Puhleeze! No. No thanks. I never will step foot in that legitimately hostile environment again. BTW, I am a person of color.

I frequently come here to work out since it is free for military and their dependents. I've also…read moretaken friends when they visit from out of town. The fee for civilians is $5.50, which is steep in my opinion; however, this is a base gym and primarily meant for military so I can't complain. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They have several fitness classes that are complimentary for active duty and their dependents. They also have a variety of equipment (free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, etc.) and a separate gym for families I believe. In addition to the gym equipment, they have tons of televisions, racquetball courts, basketball courts, and a pool (although the pool is closed at the present time). I've come during the summer and find that they keep the place pretty cool (especially in comparison to the Bangor gym). Finally, they have towels to borrow and free wifi, which is always nice :) My only complaint would be that their hours are limited, especially on the weekends and when the carrier is out. This is the result of government cuts so not much the gym can do about that. It can also get crowded at times, but then I just try to come during the day when most people are at work or close to closing time.

Great selection of fitness equipment and free weights. Free for military and dependents. Free WiFi :) Free fitness classes. Super friendly staff. Has a pool, basketball and racquetball court. We've tried many different programs and instructors, and my daughter just hasn't "taken" to the water. In comes Addie, and after a couple of months with her patience and kindness, I now have a swimmer. In addition, the entry to the facility always looks really clean and tidy. I recently signed up for a tennis membership ship (14 days ago). Turns out I can't use the…read moremembership to its fullest benefits. For this reason I canceled my me ever that just signed up for and paid the registration fee (over $500 Which includes the membership fee). So basically I have been told that if I would have contacted them before the 25th of the month, they could have refunded the membership fee but not that we are past it nothing can happen. If ever I would like to sign up again, I would still have to pay $200. This seems like a rip off and my kid come here for his classes and I come here for my beginner classes as well. Seems like it doesn't matter about customer satisfaction for them. They will Include any rule to make sure they are getting the money. Again, I like individuals here. But as business they definitely suck. I would not recommend being a member here cause as long as you are remember, you are fine but other than that it's a loss of money for you. Many would argue that I should have read terms and condition (which is in benefits to the club) but circumstances arise where you are an advocate to yourself. Be careful to becoming their member because it is a rip off, you may not know it just yet.

The sheer variety of isolation exercises possible here should excite any intermediate/advanced lifter! * incredible, well designed space surrounding the machines for free-weight activities, bars for deadlifts and old fashioned bench presses, enough high quality ROGUE benches to go around. * an upstairs area which provides additional machines, as well as empty space for stretching, personal stretching, etc. * limited selection of cardio machines that face outside This gym is very clearly targeted to serious fitness enthusiasts and is probably not a great place for the cardio-only half-asses lifting crowd. The price tag does help weed out the unserious, and I appreciate it! Thank you Kim and Jordan for creating such an amazing space, with fantastic energy and amazing equipment. You two KNOW how to build a fitness space.
