Without a doubt! #BestbagelsinCleveland I moved to Cleveland in late 2019, right by Bialy's and would often walk over every Sunday to pick up my sister and I a cinnamon crunch bagel before they sold out for the day. We loved these large bagels, generously topped with crunchy cinnamon sugar as sweet Sunday brunch treats. I moved in 2021 and am no longer close to the store (and also didn't eat bread for 2 years) but I went back last Sunday to recreate some of the pre-pandemic magic I remember. Bialy's has since expanded to also be a sandwich shop but I just got two bagels, one rosemary and one cranberry cinnamon. They were both hot and fresh and under $2 each. I've been to other bagel places since but nothing compares to Bialy's! I also saw one of the co-owners while I was there and felt like I was in the presence of a celebrity!

My order: - Asiago Bagel - Toasted with Smokie Salmon Schmear ($5) - Bagel was over toasted, dry, and too salty. Schmear was more like lightly whipped cream cheese, not flavorful. Barely there salmon is the best way to describe it. - Cinnamon Cranberry Bagel with Brown Sugar Cinnamon Schmear ($5) - Bagel tasted like plain bagel. Schmear very light on flavor. - Mish Mosh Bagel ($2) - Plain, not toasted. It's their version of everything bagel. I ordered this bagel because I overheard it being a popular choice while waiting for my order. It's way too salty, and I love salt. It didn't taste freshly made this morning and tasted not fully made inside. - Coffee ($2.50 for 2 small coffees): Flavorless and barely warm coffee. The menu is pretty well outlined on multiple signs at checkout. It clearly indicates up charges and premium topics. If you purchase bagels dozen, you'll get one bagel for free. Other options are sammies, bialy wheels, and bialy sticks. Most customers ordered baker dozen during my visit. Service: Service was alright. I felt a lot of pressure to order (especially as the first timer). Other guests were pretty rushed too. Checkout did not make much sense too. If you order a dozen bagels, they'll take your order in line. If you order a single bagel with schmear or sandwiches, you must go to the checkout counter and repeat your entire order. Service was quick, my order was up quickly and all customers were addressed in a timely manner. Parking: Parking lots are available in the front and the back of the store. The bagel shop is in a little strip mall area. If you're looking for a wallet-friendly bagel, this is the place to be. If you're looking for bold flavors or more standard bagel experience, it's probably best to venture out. I unfortunately personally didn't enjoy any part of my meal but appreciated the low prices.

While I'll always dearly miss Zina's, I love that Cocky's is now closer to home. It well fills the good bagel void on the East Side. SPACE: This cafe is an open and casual space. It has a lot of remnants of Zina's cafe such as light fixtures and booth-like seating. Then there's fun and vibrant yellow Cocky's branding. You'll see similarities with the Flats location in terms of neon sign and sunflowers. The cafe is on the smaller side but has about 6 tables accommodating various guests - couples or big groups. It's nice and intimate. During my visit there were plenty of customers (mostly families). Large party that was there during my visit was super comfortable. So, come alone, with company, or in a big group. The cafe is centrally located in University Heights and is very convenient when you're running errands or doing grocery shopping. I stopped in right after getting hungry after grocery shopping. FOOD/DRINKS: The menu resembles other Cocky's locations - bagels and coffee. You'll won't find alcohol on the menu in case you're looking for mimosas and so on (at least maybe not yet). You order at the counter and select the table. I ordered The Lox ($13) and a large plain coffee. The Lox pleasantly surprised me! It was probably the best bagel sandwich I've had at any Cocky's location. Generous layers of ingredients and amazing taste. Fish tasted especially amazing and had thick pieces. Bagel was very fresh! I remember having good bagels at Cocky's but this was next level amazing! Five stars on the bagel! Other guests during my visit raved about their food too and even ordered seconds. SERVICE: Service is very friendly and welcoming! The staff communicates with the guests in a very warm manner. The friendliest experience I've had at Cocky's! So attentive! I can already predict that many of my mornings will begin at Cocky's!
