We can now experience beach…read morevibes in Mayfield Heights - fruit smoothies, acai bowls, salads, and other healthy bites. The cafe feels like a vacay - fruit and beach decor, funky lighting, faux wood walls, and vibrant furniture. The only things that are missing are the surfer boards, palms, and the beach! This is my second visit to this cafe chain. My first experience was in Boardman, Ohio a few months back. I like the Boardman location more due to more energetic staff, but my experience at this cafe also was pretty positive. Food/Drinks: I ordered a Beach Bum Smoothie ($7.19) with strawberries, banana, and chocolate. To my delight, I learned that you can customize this smoothie with dark or white chocolate. I asked the cafe employee about the most popular choice, and he recommended white chocolate. So I selected white chocolate! If we're being honest, the smoothie is more like a slushie in consistency. When I think of a smoothie, more milky consistency comes to mind, which is not the case at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. It's just a different take on a smoothie! This particular smoothie had a distinct taste of strawberries and banana, which overpowered the chocolate. I couldn't taste chocolate hints at all Drink size is a great value for the price! Not my favorite smoothie due to the consistency but good to try on a hot day. I'd be curious to taste the difference in dark chocolate smoothies. Menu Choices: This cafe is conveniently open 7 AM - 9 PM meaning that you can grab breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a snack. The menu includes fun seasonal choices like Watermelon Mojito Smoothie, wraps and sandwiches like Hummus Veggie, flatbreads like Chicken Pesto, salads like Thai Chicken, bowls like Acai Bowl, and many smoothies. You can customize your choices, which is especially convenient to do online. Most add-one cost extra but it's fun to create. For instance, you can customize your smoothie sweetness, add extras or supplements. I found that all servings are pretty generous - flatbreads, salads, and smoothies. There are so many choices on the menu, you'll never get bored! Cafe: Every location I visited is very similar - identical decor, seating arrangements, and furniture. If you decide to hang out at the cafe, there are multiple tables, high tops, and a small bar top. Chairs are metal, not very comfy for prolonged sitting, but good enough to finish a smoothie. Order Options: You can order online, on the app, or in store. If ordering via app or online, conveniently pick up your order at the labeled shelf in store. I ordered in the store (to go), and my order was up in no time! There were very few customers in the store ordering to go. Service: Service at this cafe is quick and efficient. Employees offer recommendations. The employees weren't super enthusiastic but I also stopped in at the end of the day. Location: The cafe is conveniently located off Mayfield Road in one of the plazas. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. It's very easy to get in and out of this parking lot, back on Mayfield. Rewards: Check into their rewards program if you're looking for great deals! QR codes to join are available throughout the cafe - at checkout and even on your smoothie cup! I'd visit this cafe again for a healthy lunch. I'd love to try the Watermelon Mojito Smoothie and perhaps pair it with a bowl.

I was never really a smoothie person til I came across Pulp Juice and Smoothie Bar. Maybe it's…read morebecause my prior experience with smoothies predominantly consisted of overpowering amounts of apple, banana, or seeds from berries, and less so with more tropical fruits. In the week following my first taste of their smoothies, I probably ordered an additional 10 for myself alone. Overall, here's the rundown: Mango Tango - super sweet, not in a sickly way - more like the sweetness of a perfect mango Elite 8 - hints of strawberry (sometimes almost kiwi-like), mango balanced perfectly Pulp Coolada - just like a Pina colada, with a hint of banana. As one who loves Pina coladas, this was great, though I still preferred the mango tango and elite 8. Citrus Berry - wasn't bad, but in comparison, tasted "amateur-ish". Like if I dumped the Costco frozen berry mix into a blender and added just the right amount of sugar. Pulp Passion - like a guava-esque version of elite 8 (even though it doesn't have guava). As for their "enhancers", I'm not sure how much I actually believe their supposed effects, but the placebo effect has still been a nice way to justify the absurd amounts of smoothies I've been drinking... So why 4 stars? No smoothie should cost more than a full meal.

It was quite tasty and the wrap I got to choose was tomato which added to the flavor. It was nearly $19 so I suspect it was all kosher or else it surely wouldn't be so darn expensive but that's not really labeled anywhere that I saw online when I ordered. My biscoff (Lotus brand) shake was delicious!! Cookie butter flavor, super creamy texture. $6ish for a small.

Their menu is extensive - cold drinks, shakes, hot drinks, smoothies, slush, sandwiches, bagels, baked goods, ice cream, pastries, waffles, salads, sandwiches, bagels, hot dishes, and fridge items. There's so many items on the menu that you can try something different during every visit. The real standout is Dubai Iced Chocolate Latte although I didn't try it. I ordered two large iced coffees and one sandwich (plain bagel with omelette). Coffee was pretty good and not too diluted. Sandwich seemed to include fresh, in-house cooked eggs. I wouldn't necessarily call the filling an omelette. It was too flat and didn't have toppings. The sandwich was pretty small and very dry. There were no sauce or any toppings. I don't know if that was maybe a separate option. My grand total was $20 something which seems very pricey in comparison to the coffee shops in the area - chains or independent. Even more so considering cup sizes and sandwich size. I would have coffee here again, not the sandwich. Sandwich was around $10 and really wasn't worth it. Ambiance is nice and modern. There's innovative and soft overhead lighting. The cafe is very clean and inviting. There are some board games you can play while there. Marble looking tables and greenery make for an airy aesthetic. The cafe is a pleasant and bright place to start your day. Also the staff is very pleasant. They're eager to answer any questions and welcoming. There are also options to order "to stay" or "to go" on the iPad. The parking situation includes some street parking and a small private lot in the back. I wouldn't advise parking at the lot, there are a lot of very deep potholes. If you choose to, watch out for them.

They have about 8 or 9 sandwich options all made to order on a crispy focaccia bread. They also offer my favorite, San Pellegrino Italian sodas and homemade chocolate chip sea salt cookies. They slice the meat for you right there and it was all super fresh. I got the #2 which had salami, prosciutto, and capicola with burrata and pickled hot peppers. The sandwich was good and tasted really fresh. I really enjoyed the burrata. I also did not miss the fact that there was no sauce or spread on it. I'm not a huge fan of crispy or hard bread, so I think I would have loved it even more if there was a soft bread option. I definitely look forward to returning though, maybe they do have another bread option available, I didn't ask. You can also customize the sandwich, so I would have added some arugula. The cookie was incredible!
