Wasn't sure what to expect with "jazzy" in the name, but glad I dropped in. Killer service, a crazy good selection of bagel varieties and a warm inviting space to chill out in made my meal here all the better. I got the Todd, which is a breakfast bagel with egg, tomato, feta and an avocado spread, and that turned out to be a solid, filling meal in and of itself. Ok, sure, the tomato was small and a bit tough, the 'avocado spread' was right out of a tube and the 'egg' was a pre-fab slice of protein, but it all came together nicely on my toasted onion bagel. There was a line but the woman taking my order was awesome, patient and on top of things. Didn't think I'd hang out too long but the vibe with the fireplace and big windows made me linger in the cafe style space, which was pretty flush with what felt like locals. Cool. I'm not sure of why the low scored reviews. I'm not from the area but visit often as my two oldest live in Portland and Gresham and have NEVER had a poor experience (e.g., I've been here for a week and we've been here 4 times). Everything we've tried has been delicious, including the coffee drinks, and quite reasonably priced. Sometimes they're busy and it's a bit of a wait, but they usually post a sign to let you know the average wait time. If you can't wait that long, order ahead or go elsewhere. Seems obvious to me! We love the times they have someone playing the piano and have never had an issue getting a table by the time our order is ready. The staff has always been kind and helpful and the restaurant and bathrooms are clean. My favorite go-to order is a spinach Asiago bagel with either a special cream cheese, open faced as a pizza bagel or the Farmer (sausage patty, egg, tomato, spinach, and cheese). read more

They're delicious and we haven't come across a bagel I didn't like. Our favorites are the everything, garlic, and jalapeño Asiago. We like to pick up a half dozen bagels and their housemade garlic, chive, or sundried tomato cream cheese. You can custom order a bagel sandwich or order a breakfast or lunch bagel from the menu. This place has some of the best bagels for sure, super fresh and flavorful and the prices aren't crazy. The staff are always very friendly but I will say sometimes it can get hectic and they have trouble balancing the workload. I chose the Southern Breakfast bagel on a Supreme Bagel. It was delicious but I always hate how soggy the paper gets from the juice of the ham and peppers. Nice place with a GREAT selection of bagels. The prices were a little high (due to inflation, likely not their fault) so I went with the more reasonably priced pizza bagel. It was solid. It included tomatoes underneath the cheese (a "reverse margarita"). The tomatoes were a little slippery but overall it tasted good. The place uses ceramic plates and offers re-usable hard plastic cups for self-serve water. Unfortunately, I only espied plastic, throwaway utensils even though there was a sign in the bus bin saying "put utensils here." Maybe there were metal utensils that I couldn't find? I also didn't ask for them as there was always a line but it keeps moving. That shows that there is strong demand. I bought more bagels to bring home that my family is enjoying at home. Stopped here on Mother's Day after staying over at a friends house in the Gresham area. It was a late night celebrating her birthday, so definitely needed some fuel to make the drive back over to the west side. Luckily jazzy bagels goals popped up. I honestly don't understand why they have lower reviews because the bagels were so delicious the service was really prompt and quick, especially on a busy holiday morning. Everything came out really fast and it seemed like a nice place to have a quick breakfast. I got their turkey club on a garlic bagel and it tasted so fresh and delicious. Rode there again today, a Saturday, with 8 of my bicycle buddies. Being a nice sunny day we wanted to set outside. We asked if they would unlock the outdoor tables/chairs as they were stacked up with a cable around them. Answer- the person with the key wasn't working today so they couldn't be unlocked. Why only one key? Why was the one key not left at the store. Oh well, the line was too long anyway as they are incredibly slow taking orders. We love jazzy bagels! We came here for the first time a few weeks ago and fell in love. I am definitely a bagel snob and am pretty particular about my bagels. That being said Jazzy bagels make some of the softest and flavorful bagels I've had recently! I ordered the pastrami melt on the supreme bagel. The supreme bagel is an everything bagel with Swiss (I believe) on top. It is out of this world good just by itself but pair it with the pastrami melt & you have a winner! The pastrami was tender, incredibly flavorful and super juicy. The onions and mustard were the perfect addition without being overpowering. The melted Swiss inside was ooey and gooey, just how you'd want it! I loved my bagel sandwich so much I went up to the counter and got a half dozen to go, as well as their prepackaged pumpkin cream cheese. During the week, I would pop a bagel in the toaster oven & it was come out toasty but still pillowy soft inside. The pumpkin cream cheese was insanely good, packed with flavor but not overpowering (I feel like it's a fine line with pumpkin). We ate inside at jazzy bagel and it was clean and reminded me of an old bagel joint I used to frequent growing up. I tried these bagels for the first time today when my boss brought them into work and it was a treat. I tried half of a pumpkin and half of a cinnamon raisin, both with plain cream cheese and they were both so good. The pumpkin had some kind of sweet orange sugar and Pumpkin seeds on the top half and the bagel itself had a subtle pumpkin flavor. The cinnamon raisin had big raisins and lots of cinnamon so I think that was my favorite. I found the dough to be a little bit chewier than I like but I loved how big they were. The more stars I give the more detail I like to include, and the more fun I like to having these reviews... I put this place on par with Panera though. I think Panera has a couple I like a little bit better... It's a very standard bagel place. It's been here as long as I've been coming around downtown Gresham and I assume that they do pretty well for themselves... I don't think they have many competitors right around here that can do bagels much better so often I pass over it unless I am meeting somebody and they recommend here. They do have a good seating. In all my years, I have apparently never before driven through downtown Gresham, but I am sure glad I did the other day! I was tasked with bringing home some bagels, and a quick search after leaving my nearby dentist appointment pointed me toward Jazzy Bagels, so I swung on over for a quick grab and go. Weighing recent bagel-related experiences in my mind (one positive, the other negative), I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised with what I found. First off, the interior is impeccable! Clean, orderly, decor that is serviceable/standard for a café-style establishment. Where Jazzy stands out though, begins from here forward, starting with the ordering process. Popular sandwiches and standards are clearly listed on the electronic board behind the counter, which are customizable (bagel time, spread, etc) at the time of ordering, all listed or displayed clearly in front of you via signage and glass cases. Pick your poison, switch it up how you like, and watch it assembled/toasted before your eyes. Here's the kicker, though: I ordered two sandwiches: the pastrami melt, and the lox sandwich (add capers, as the sandwich version does not come with them natively), paid my $16 bucks, and waited patiently. Before being handed my order, I was asked if I wanted sliced deli pickles and a bag of chips with the order. Apparently these are included, and I had no idea. So, to recap, two hearty bagel sandwiches, two pickles and two bags of chips for $16? That's...pretty much unheard of in Portland, and a better deal that I have encountered in those previously-stated bagel shops. As for the quality? Phenomenal! That pastrami melt sandwich was everything it needed to be: perfectly cooked, lean pastrami, gooey swiss, sauerkraut, dijon mustard and a chewy bagel holding it all together! Yum! I pity my wife, who had to wait an additional 20 minutes for me to return home and deliver hers, but she claims it was absolutely worth the wait, and left her stuffed for the remainder of the day! Jazzy Bagels, in just one visit, rocketed to become my #1 bagel place in the Portland-Metro area. The reason for the lack of stars was due to the workers and the overall vibe. We ordered ahead of time all three days, seeing as we didn't want to wait around. The biggest issue is that they have a pick up area but no one is really there and its awkward to reach over and look for your order so your left waiting on someone, the first time it wasnt that bad we waited and the worker seemed annoyed but it was fine, but the second day we went on 11/22 around 7:45ish the girl working the expresso machine in a stripped black and white shirt with strawberry blond hair could not be bothered or care about anything, we walked up to the pick up area right in front and just stood there we looked at her she looked at us and nothing and we continued to wait till she said if we needed something and we told her we were there for pick up and said our name she didnt care to get our name right and looked annoyed and said its not ready passive aggressively we waited some time and i realized that another worker placed a bag down and i had a feeing it was our but i wasnt too sure and i assumed she would let us know that out order was ready and we didnt wanna go back up and ask if it wasnt ours to futher annoy her so we waited for 5 more minutes until we walked back and and she looked at us like we were stupid and was like yeah???? and we were like our order and shes just handed it to us and didnt say anything but make a snarky face and we were beyond confused as to why she was being so rude and nasty and it left a bad impression on us and not to mention the vibes were off in the establishment, my fiance and I are both minorities and people looked at us like we were aliens and i feel like the white workes did feel superior towards us and we felt the bad vibes!!! I will say that on our third day there was another interracial couple picking up food as well before us and they looked at them like they were crazy and were equally as rude to them! Overall the food was good, despite the horrible workers and atmosphere. I will add that it is weird for them to act a certain way towards us because the name of the company is Jazzy's, as in jazz music, which is rooted in African American culture, so it's odd how they treat minorities differently, especially so close to Portland!!!
