We visited Great Harvest Bread Company looking for gluten-free items, but discovered they have a very limited supply. They are also very clear that gluten-free items are produced in the same facility as their products containing gluten. The bakery smells delicious, the staff are friendly and helpful, and I was very surprised by the variety of products they produce. Their cookies are big, soft, and priced very economically. This location in Clackamas offers a few tables on the sidewalk, with a few in the dining room as well. The bakery looks like it would make a great lunchtime spot. read more

I got the cinnamon swirl. It is really good toasted, very sweet rich , like a cinnamon roll. Odd it had a bunch of sugar butter cinnamon on the bottom, see picture. Wish it was sliced, I used a sharp, very fine knife to lightly saw through it. I also got the cinnamon burst, not much burst, and the plain white bread was ok. The one downtown Portland never seems to either of these, so I will get this when nearby. Finally a place that replaces the closed Beaverton bakery, and before that the bakery near the soccer stadium. Line moved quickly, easy to see what they have, even daily specials for all days were clearly listed. Free sample was nice touch. read more

There are zero problems with Great Harvest. It's exactly what you want it to be- bread, sandwiches, cookies, coffee. Honestly I could just exist on their offerings and not be mad about it. I got the box lunch because I wanted to try everything: whole sando, handful of baby carrots in a ziptop bag, Tim's potato chips, and a giant cookie. All of that plus a coffee is less than $15. Freshly fresh bread, stellar cookies, it's all amazing. The only down sides is that there are only two tables outside plus two benches. There's not room to sit and enjoy lunch, so take it somewhere else to enjoy. read more

This was my first experience with this Great Harvest location and although the staff was friendly and helpful, I am so disappointed in my loaf of sourdough bread that obviously wasn't sourdough at all. Normally I would just return it and ask for the correct loaf but they are closed today and by the time I get there again the bread I received will not be worth saving. They make one of my favorite cookies, the ginger cookie. (I do wish that they didn't sprinkle the sugar in top though). It's a huge a piece, so good, and very reasonable price. I love it. I love all their bread too, so soft and smells so good. I've been coming here since I was a kid and the memories of getting the free bread samples with a hunk of butter will always bring a smile to my face. (I don't think they do that butter anymore.) Stopped by Great Harvest Bread Company this morning for some breakfast since it was close by the hotel I was staying at. They have a variety of different breads here - not just fresh baked breads like rye or whole wheat, but also bread with berries or cheese baked in. Given that I'm only in town for a few days, I'd definitely buy a couple loaves to try if I was here longer. MARIONBERRY SCONE - 3.25 These were pretty big and it looked freshly baked. You can get the marionberry scone with white chocolate chips but I was pretty excited to try it with just the marionberry since Oregon is known for them. Overall, it was very buttery and tasty but slightly dry. I like that the marionberry were whole pieces. I'd recommend giving the scones a try. If you are able to eat half a dozen, it's only $16.25! I'd wanna give their breads a try if I visit again. They're also known for their Sunrise Rolls, which is more of a savory option with ham, cheese, and other delicious toppings. read more

They had some of the best bread west of the Mississippi. We tried a couple of their sandwiches. I at the tuna sandwich was one of the best I'd tried. The time was fresh and it was full of veggies. What really makes their sandwiches amazing is the bread. The bread is the secret. If your shopping in the Clackamas area do yourself a favor stop and grab lunch at the GHBC. I have always enjoyed the delicious breads baked by Great Harvest in Clackamas, but this time they outdid themselves by baking us 2 loaves of round Challah (one with raisins and the other without), making our family's Rosh Hashanah feast complete. The loaves were wonderful, very light but flavorful. Owner Ben was very modest when I pre-ordered the round Challahs, claiming he had no experience with such. I never would have guessed. So many choices, even during Covid! They are still baking several different types of bread daily, the smell of fresh bread so intoxicating. At this location they also make at least a dozen treats daily such as their famous large cookies - chocolate chip, snickerdoodles or ginger. On display and very enticing are the cinnamon bursts (which is a big slab of bread pudding), brownie bars, scones (get the Marionberry), muffins, the Kahuna bars looked divine; they appear to be like the 7 layer cookies my grandmother used to make with coconut, chocolate, biputterscotch,sweetened condensed milk over Graham cracker crust. If you are hungry walking in, it will be quite the challenging to resist! Since I'm not a fast food person, when I'm out and about and hungry I'd rather get a freshly made sandwich and they have several options. You can choose from their different bread varieties and the fillings are plentiful and unique. I went with the Chipotle Turkey and was not disappointed. In addition to fresh Turkey, the sandwich had shredded cabbage, pickled red onion and pepper jack cheese with a chipotle-honey-lime yogurt dressing giving it a nice kick! Bought a bag of premixed cinnamon scones to bake at home. It contains everything you need to make 8 scones, just add butter, egg and water. They also sell bags of Clackamas Crunch and Mt. Hood Granola, a good marketing idea! Super friendly service; they even offer samples of their breads. I tried the seasonal eggnog cake that was similar to a butter pound cake. Very good. Tables outside available for those wanting to eat there. The store had a lot of traffic while I was there at almost 4pm so obviously people enjoy their food. Every time I'm at this mall there are people sitting outside having a sandwich or treat. There seemed to be a lot of regulars as the cashiers greeted many by name. Yum! I enjoy the free slice of bread when visiting. They need to bring back the butter though... just saying... the bread is five star worthy even without offering butter. Our favorite is the cinnamon swirl *without raisins* and we make French toast out of it. No need to add more cinnamon I just use milk and egg for the batter because these are so flavorful. Their breads sometimes sell out so if the cinnamon swirl if out then I go for the cinnamon chip. It is also fantastic for French toast but the texture is more of a fluffy bread instead of the dense cinnamon roll style of the swirl bread. Both end up being crowd pleasers. For sandwich and the most satisfying toast ever - we really like their Dakota bread. It's dense and seedy. Yum! They have a few tables outside that birds like to frequent and it's on a busy parking lot so it's not really the type of place you want to stay and eat but if you're shopping then it makes sense. There isn't seating inside - just breads, mediocre cookies and gift type items to purchase. If you are looking for bread or a sandwich while shopping check it out. The service is serviceable but not friendly or patient. The missing butter feels more like a financial decision than the label they are giving it. Just stopped at target to pick up some things. Was about to get in my car when a van full of cookies begins to unload. They looked delicious so I stopped in. I got the salted Carmel cookie and it was verryyy good. One of the better pastries I've had since I've been in Oregon. Their cookies are much better than Lauretta Jeans in my opinion. They also give out free samples and the slice of cinnamon roll bread I got was huge. I was shocked the sample was free with that portion amount. I like that they give you samples right when you walk in. There is sometimes a line on the weekend because they're so busy. The bread is warm and they have butter for you to put on there. There is some seating, but not really a lot of tables inside. You can sit outside and eat at the tables. they have cookies and others sweets for sale. The best time for me to head out here is during the morning when their batches are the most fresh. While I remain a fan of the food, I haven't always been a fan of their service, especially this location. Depending on how busy it is, some of the ladies behind the counter can be a tad pushy.
