She guides you through a workout with plenty of explanation of the exercise in question and makes you keep going until the end. She makes you work muscles you haven't thought about. Each train class has variations which it's pretty good. When you arrived to the studio you always feel very welcome and Reena encourages you to get to know your workout mates. Soon you feel that you are part of a group of motivated people that wants to live a healthier lifestyle. Her dance class gives you a great workout too. Her choreographies are awesome and make you improve your coordination. Offering a mix class of dance and train Reena combines an enjoyable 30 minutes of fun followed by 30 minutes of exercises focused in main parts that most women are concerned about. So I highly recommend you to try a class with Reena. If you are very sore next day and it lasts a couple of days more, don't give up, you will feel better and do better next class and you won't have sore or it will be less each time as you get stronger. As for the classes, Align and Yoga Renew are my two absolute favorites. You will always be sore afterward, but you also leave feeling so good because the classes incorporate such a great stretch. My core is always sore after Align with Alaina -- her classes are my absolute favorite!

(One or two pauses per year should be free.) When you come back, you are chargered on your normal day (for the the 9th) and not on the day you come back (for me the 22nd). Even though I am charged on the 9th, I cannot reserve classes until the 22nd which means I am waitlisted and have to change my workschedule and that's a total pain. I found the Pilates Passion website and thought what the heck, give them a call. I scheduled my first private session with JD- I was comfortable, not intimidated at all and worked up a little sweat- I was surprisingly sore the next day. JD showed me some really great tips on breathing which I try and do at work and in the car. I've taken sessions with the owner, Anne Marie, as well and she is such a positive guide and lets you know how to maximize the moves to get the full effect- the rear end kicks are killer! I am NOT a gym rat- I go when I have time, sometimes I'll go a few times a week, sometimes less, sometimes not at all... depending on my schedule and mood. I will continue with Pilates because it just feels like therapy for my body. I never dread a session which is a fantastic sign. Some other Pilates studios, especially in the Rancho Bernardo area, are very cold and intimidating but not this little studio. I don't stand for snooty-ness and this place is not like that at all. Give the first free session a shot and maybe you'll get hooked like me. If not, you didn't lose anything and can be proud of not knocking it til you've tried it.

The actual back room was huge with tons of reformers. This isn't the stretch and balance type of reformer pilates. It's a fast moving , almost straight cardio, pilates. I've tried the Del Mar location years ago and found it difficult to follow but wanted to give it another go. The instructor was nice and gave me a 2 min intro on the machine. It was hard to understand as the springs and carriage are alot different than what I'm used to. The class moves really too quickly and it was hard to understand alot of the moves as I didn't know where to look (it was hard to see where the instructor was in the studio to mirror her moves if she was on the machine) and alot of the other girls seemed just as lost as me. I must have said 'huh, what, wth, am I doing this right, and what is going on' a dozen times to myself. I'm not sure I'd return as this isn't really my style of reformer pilates I'd like to invest my time or money in but it's a nice location so maybe it'll click with others.

There's something about the energy in that room that makes you want to actually try. When everyone around you is putting in work, you just match it. The music is good too. Sounds like a small thing but it makes a difference. So does the AC -- especially on a hot day. Strength-wise I'm noticeably stronger than when I started. Still getting challenged which is the point. If you're thinking about trying it, just go. It's hard to explain until you're in it.

The Del Mar team are all super friendly and make the whole experience positive. I have never had any issues with scheduling or getting support to ensure my credits are applied. I love that once I found a flexologist that was a good match for me, I could book in ahead and have consistency. I always look forward to my regular Friday morning sessions with Chavva! She is extremely knowledgeable and efficient while also taking time to understand my specific needs at the beginning of each visit. I always leave feeling like I got a good "tune-up". My muscles feel stretched and less tense and I often go home with some stretches I can add to my routine too. Chavva is always in a great mood - she is professional but also friendly and easy to talk to (sometimes a great distraction from tight muscles getting stretched). I had such a positive experience that now my husband also sees Chavva and my son, a soccer player, has also been to see her. As an athlete herself, she really understands his needs and has been a great addition to his care routine too!
